  • I read that going, wait, is that me?? I was the same way. I am also 5'0" and struggled with disordered eating since I was a child. I hit my lowest weight at 18 and was threatened with hospitalization. Then I had a major traumatic experience and something switched. I met my now husband after it, we had kids, and after the…

  • I have Celiac and have eaten gluten free for 10 years now. There are so many amazing brands now, I don't even know where to start haha. Depending on where you live: Kroger 7 grain Gluten Free Sandwich Bread Against the Grain (everything from rolls, baguettes, to pizzas) RealGood (low-carb gluten-free frozen foods - high…
  • @tammierlewis Yes! It is a lot of fun. My mom and partner did it together a couple of years ago. My mom and I are going to do it together this year. The point is to climb as many climbs as possible in 24 straight hours. I've been climbing since I was 2. I used to take it pretty serious but after having my kids, I gained a…
  • Starting weight: 155lb (5'0", BMI 30.27) Goal weight: 100lb (BMI 19.53) Current weight: 150lb Total weight lost: 5lb This week's successes: I kept up with my supplements every day this week. I feel great, despite having a few days above my calorie allotment. I'm trying to maintain a healthy relationship with my food and I…
  • One of my go-to comfort food meals is an Italian dish my nonna made a lot. It's salsiccia italiana con patate e peperoni e salsa di pomodoro (Italian sausage with potatoes and peppers and tomato sauce). I absolutely love it. I sub the sausage for a chicken based sausage instead and it is around 360 calories for one…
  • Always happy to share what I can! I try to mix my meals up but definitely have a few staples that are common week-to-week.
  • I have a 24 hour climbing competition in September this year. Trying to lose fat and gain muscle so the endurance is easier. Good luck, everyone!
  • Not necessarily low-fat, but healthier fats: I sometimes make a carbonara using avocado. It's delicious and avocados are such a great source of "good" fats. The recommendations of traditional cacio e pepe as a replacement are also great.
  • Ah, okay. I'll be adjusting it now. I did fall into the obese category with my weight, so I had it set to bring myself down to a normal range.
  • Thank you! Reading the article now. I have! I loved it because it really opened the world's eyes to the climbing community. I started when I was 2, so it's been cool to watch the world become more aware. To psuLemon: I have it set at 2 pounds/week. Okay, I'll do that. Thank you so much!
  • Just inputting my info into MFP has me consuming 1200c/day. My BMR is 1332 plus I try to aim for around 200-300 calories burned in workouts. I have a hard time hitting my macros most days (plus I've just been feeling full, probably due to my medication), but I try to go 93g fat|80g protein|33g carbs on muscle days and 50g…
  • Okay, thank you very much for the response! I am a rock climber, so I would like overall muscle gains. My muscle focus days have been specifically arms/shoulders/back/core. With my cardio days, I get a lot of work on my legs, so those have been toning pretty well. I'm just wanting to see more of the fat come off. My core…
  • Weight loss is my goal, plus muscle building. I do high intensity cardio 3 times a week and then muscle group focus twice a week, using my weekends for walk/yoga/rest. So I have been doing high-carb/low-fat on my cardio days and low-carb/high-fat on my muscle group days. Weekends are mid-range, just shooting for mid-carb.
  • Honestly, I'm not really sure. I feel awful if I don't eat carbs, so I was kind of hoping to just reduce it to really low a couple of times a week to see if it helped at all. But everything I read said to keep your fat content high on those days and protein in the mid-range, but my protein is always high on those days.
  • I have a few: -to hit my first "goal" weight (145 : I'm about 5 pounds away) -to bring my BMI down to 28 (it's at 30) -to bring my body fat percentage down to 30% (4.7% away)
  • I usually wait until they are down for nap/rest time (mine are all under 8 years old). If they are awake and I try to work out, I get so stressed.
  • Hiya! Mom of 3, just dipped to 48 more pounds to lose to get to the weight I'd like to be at.
