Yep, you'll see a massive difference when you get scales. Where did you get a calorie goal of less than 1200 cals from? MFP won't give you that small a number and it's very unlikely to be necessary.

If I have a rest week with little exercise, I usually drop a pound or 2 that I am carrying round for muscle repair. its completely normal.
-
its only been a week... you need to be more patient. do you weigh your food with scales?
-
I started running after I finished insanity too 😀
-
Whatever works... 🤨
-
I used MFP to lose weight, it's just a numbers game. Eat less than you burn and you'll lose weight. The high intensity of insanity creates water retention which messes with the scales, that's all 😊
-
@Tramboman What is injury porn??
-
I didn't lose any weight when I did insanity... lost a few inches but put 2lbs on!
-
I have mine set to sedentary (based on what I know my numbers to be, not MFP) and then I add and eat back exercise cals. I'm a runner, so my burn can vary massively from a walk on a rest day to 10 - 15 mile long runs so I prefer that my calories change with the exercise. I also work to my weekly goal, so I might not eat…

agreed!
-
you need to stop weighing yourself every day, or even every week, if fluctuations upset you. weight loss isn't linear.
-
yes, I got loads fitter and stronger over the 60 days, it was great.
-
If you're weighing and measuring everything and not losing weight, then 1500 cals is your maintenance. That being said, we are only on 11th January, so 11 days isn't really long enough to say its not working. Give it 4 to 6 weeks, if you haven't lost any weight, try 1400 cals.

Thought I would do a quick RED January update. Yesterday's run was the first time I could really feel my legs, so the rest of this week will be the minimum 2 miles, so that I can attempt a HM at the weekend to keep my monthly HM streak going. TBH I wont b too sad if I don't manage it, I don't want to injure myself just for…

I did insanity a few years ago... LOVE shaun t! Pure cardio was always my favourite.
-
If you like walking, what about C25K to start running? Some basic strength training would also be beneficial.
-
Is that your normal amount of walking and running or is it new?
-
I agree with getting some help to deal with the stress. In the meantime, maybe try drinking some of your calories? And also, don't worry about how 'healthy' what you eat is - any calories that you can stomach are better than no calories.
-
Garmin, all day long. Fenix if it fits your budget, forerunner if not. Stairway sounds good, but 49 miles in a week is way above my legs capabilities!
-
Personally, I think if you are happy with how you look, then you don't need to try and do anything for your family.
-
or in a couple of weeks when he's out with an overuse injury....

I think the reason I dismissed 2 4 6 8 6 4 2 was that the overall mileage is less than what i did last time. I like 3 5 7 3 5 7 9... but i do like a nice pattern!!! i also thought about doing Fibonacci again, but trying to beat my time overall for the 7 days (as you log your results in hours) but i'm not sure as i like…

best of luck

Lovely running pals, I need your ideas. In the run up to Christmas I did a 7 in 7 running challenge, and now this one is being advertised: https://www.phoenixrunning.co.uk/events/virtual-p7in7-spring Christmas week I did the Fibonacci pattern which I really loved and it was challenging without actually killing me. For some…

diet soda and sparkling water?

I had a quick look at your diary and of the days that you had logged, you were often 200-300 cals below your goal of 1900, which is below maintenance. Hopefully your logging is inaccurate and you're eating more than is in your diary? you don't need a calorie deficit for recomp. Just for another comparison, i am 5ft5 and…

Slimming World, probably.

sorry to break it to you, but not everyone losing belly fat first, just because they are female. When you lose fat it will come off everywhere, including your stomach.
-
this might sound really bad, but its the first time in months that the news hasn't been wall to wall covid, which was refreshing 🙈🙈

Interesting. My Garmin has been doing various weird things recently... maybe its related.
