  • @SunnyDays930 there is nothing worse than when you break a streak or break a diet and feel that what you drank / ate wasn't worth it ! I like your attitude. Just keep on going no use dwelling on the slip. Just use it as a lesson and move on. 'Tongue feels like it's wearing a sweater' πŸ˜‚ never heard that before lol
  • I'm absolutely infuriated this morning. Guy in my office who attends AA asked me if I have stayed sober. I replied that yes I have. I said I have been drinking non alcohol beers and he turned round and said "well your not sober then. You still want the taste." I had to bite my tongue but I firmly stated that sobriety is an…
  • 'Watch a barrel race down the road.....' sounds like MY sex life. Haha πŸ˜‚ me, being the barrel. I'm just happy that someone HAS a sex life. We have work to do in that department shall we say. Then again I have been getting counselling, dealing with anxiety and taking meds. Doesn't exactly make me want to rip my clothes off…
  • Article about the drinking problem in the UK.
  • Thanks for your post @Sinisterbarbie1 I will think about what you said. I know that smaller changes can be better for you. X
  • Yeah @SunnyDays930 I'm sure the green tea will be fine for me. Whenever I have made this swap in the past I tend to only have 3 cups per day (just water in between) one cup in the morning, one cup at lunch and one more around 6pm. It doesn't seem to impact my sleep at all or rile anxiety symptoms in me. When I drink coffee…
  • Thanks for reminding me about that @Sinisterbarbie1 I did know that green tea was not caffeine free just that it's got much less than coffee. 8 ounce of coffee provides = 96 mg of caffeine 8 ounce of green tea provides = 29 mg of caffeine ^^I'm sure these are just estimates or maybe near enough to the real amounts (found…
  • Quitting caffeine tomorrow. I have been enjoying my coffees but I enjoy less anxiety symptoms, more. So back onto the green tea and water from tomorrow. I wasn't a huge fan of green tea at the start, but it's very good for your health, and studies show people who drink green tea, tend to live longer than those who don't.…
  • Another great article. Interesting read.
  • Thanks ! 😁😊
  • Hello there ! Been a while lol 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  • I wouldn't recommend the sparkling white Belle & Co. Its like sparkling grape juice. It's not offensive or anything but I prefer the Sparkling Rose Belle & Co as I thought it had a 'wine' taste. πŸ₯‚
  • I had an alcohol free cider. It was absolutely delicious πŸ˜‹ I will be honest. I felt tempted more than once this evening to have a wine. But my brother and OH were very supportive, they stuck to soft drinks. I realised I was preferring being sober and was glad I stayed dry. I suppose it's ingrained behaviour and it will…
  • I really enjoyed reading that, thanks for posting it 😊
  • Happy Saturday 😊 πŸ˜ƒ
  • Done some step 4 work with my sponsor tonight via video link. Wow. I am really getting a LOT from the programme. Doing the step work in conjunction with seeing a Councillor plus staying alcohol free, is helping me sort through my personal issues. It's helping me to understand myself as well. πŸ‘ŒπŸ™πŸ˜Š
  • Sending you positive vibes and support ✨️ I'm not going to be much help where food is concerned but I'm going to be needing help, myself, to sort out my food intake. If I come across things that are helpful, I will be sure to post them here. X
  • I agree. I have learnt a lot from reading @Xellercin posts. I hope you will continue to share and post in the thread πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œπŸ€ž
  • Apparently according to Google. Pink clouding is not always a one-time occurrence. Apparently it can come and go at various times during recovery. They say pink clouding can be challenging for your recovery, but these days everything is dangerous for you. I want me some more pink clouds πŸ˜†πŸ’•β˜οΈ
  • I decided to quit vaping yesterday (nicotine in all shapes n forms riles anxiety symptoms for me). So, now my new addiction is food. And coffee (need to quit that as well, due to anxiety)I always seem to have at least one addiction on the go. But I'm only human and at least for me, food doesn't rile anxiety symptoms. But…
  • @Sinisterbarbie1 I was on a pink cloud during my very first (long) sober streak. I managed 134 days. I would get overcome with emotion just looking at the sky. Everything in the world felt new and shiny and somehow magical. I was literally walking on sunshine lol. I do wonder if I will / can experience that a second time?…
  • @AR10at50 your almost into double figures now ! Building an alcohol free streak is great for motivation and confidence I find. It's great that you have a reason to stay dry after your skin treatment, I'm at a point now that I love it when I'm told 'you can't drink any alcohol.....while on these tablets.....while using…
  • 😊 it was a magical getaway for me. A lovely break and I enjoyed it all the more with a clear head. Kate Bee makes an interesting point about FOMO (fear of missing out) especially on holidays or trips away. She said that everyone is missing out on something. Nobody can have a complete experience of anything. There is only…
  • It really felt like a fairytale ✨️ I loved it. Thank you so much πŸ€—πŸ˜Š and I am thrilled that I can help to give you hope and motivation, that's why we have our little thread, it really helps me so much, too. You CAN do this. You WILL do this. Because I know its a goal that means a lot to you. You will get back on track πŸ‘£ πŸ’ͺ
  • I can resonate with the fact a relapse starts days in advance. Its happened to me more than once. Its good to be aware of how a relapse happens. It starts in your mind. Kate Bee said that if you go somewhere and tell yourself 'I won't enjoy this without alcohol' then your setting yourself up for not enjoying yourself. My…
  • You have went 9 months sober in the past. I know you can do this. I hope you do find a therapist thats a better fit for you. πŸ’• I see a Councillor once a week and she is fantastic. I know how important it is that you have a good fit. Thanks for sharing that story of that person you know. I think back on how attractive a…
  • @AR10at50 please, feel free to vent here! What is said on the Sobriety Matters Thread, stays on the thread 😁 we all need to let off steam sometimes. My OH drives me up the wall sometimes, as I'm sure I do to him, as well lol.
  • Thanks ☺️ 'Enjoy life' something we should all aim for, thanks for the encouraging words πŸ’œ
  • Thank you for the encouragement! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•
