  • Ok. Let’s use my specific situation. I started the app choosing the active level because I exercise every day and the app doesn’t factor calories for strength training just cardio. So my original calories was set at 1930. But, If I choose not very active my calories then become 1500 and I work out everyday except Sunday.…
  • In regards to over thinking I would much rather figure this all out now and go about my fitness journey the right way from the beginning vs. seeing unforeseen consequences further down the road whether over eating or under eating. It is very important in my opinion to understand the solid foundation of what is proper…
  • Also, my activity level itself could be wrong from what I think it should be and what it actually is. For example; if I’m exercising everyday except Sunday then wouldn’t my activity level at the least be considered active or even light active even though I’m disabled vet and I don’t work. And when I’m not exercising. I’m…
  • I exercise though 6 days a week so does that change you’re “off exercise” days any? And the confusion also came in when I chose activity level I thought that meant my exercise as well. So then in that regard I’m probably over eating slowly over time yes?
  • So if my TDEE is like 2800 but my DCI with my activity based on my BF% is less. Then I can go over my number on the app and still lose weight as long as I’m 500 less then my TDEE. I’m confused because if the app takes into consideration the TDEE and the number on my page is factored out. It’s a lot less then if I was to do…
  • Reposting new topic to refresh thread. I am looking for information concerning TDEE, vs. DCI/BMR. When my diary has the calories set for my weight loss goal is that number, even if met daily or exceeded, to still be in a calorie deficit. Should I be trying to hit the TDEE or DCI/BMR? Much clarification on this issue would…
  • Ok. Thank you very much! 😊
  • I alternate cardio with weight lifting currently. Yes I’m novice and only basic lifting, even still, would that change my macros a little from 30% protein to what I’m currently doing which is 35%?
  • Thanks. Really. I appreciate you guys opinions. I’m new still on my weight loss journey and learning as I go here. Trying to take everyone’s advice and strategies and find something that fits right for me so I don’t backslide.
  • Well I appreciate your opinion, I would really like to get a diverse set of opinions on this matter, but I will research those links. Thank you.
  • Well I set my macros at 35% for protein, 45% for cabs and 20% for fats. I am considered obese and I was told that was a good split for weight loss. So should I make it 35% carbs and make fats 30%?
  • I appreciate the advice. Thanks. I’ll be more careful in the future.
  • Yeah I’m new and I guess I put too much faith in people when looking for support and motivation. But it does happen to you guys as well?
  • New question to refresh thread! So I’m about 1 month into my diet and training and I’ve noticed recently that my left knee cap pops every time I extend it ( definitely sounds like cartilage or grissle) and retract it. Is this normal and will go away over time as I build muscle, stay the same, or could be a medical…
  • How do you determine your TDEE or whatever. I dont know, but let me give you my stats. I’m 38. 5’ 6” and I currently weigh 218. Don’t exactly know my BF% but my scale says 29%. But I don’t really know exactly
  • I thought the key to losing weight was staying under your BMR and being in a caloric deficit. 3500 calories= 1 pound of fat so theoretically if you went into a 500 deficit all week you could still lose a pound of fat without even having to exercise at all, not so much having to eat less then you burn? Can you clarify that…
  • As long as you hitting your daily caloric intake and trying to hit those macros. It doesn’t really matter when or what you do right?
  • Just to comment on your thread here. On my cardio days each week I walk 6 miles. 2 in the morning, afternoon, and at night. Roughly takes me between 44 and 48 minutes depending how much I thrown in a little extra jog here or there, but roughly burn around 270 to 280 calories per 2 miles at 2.5 mph with a 2.5-4• incline. So…
  • Yeah it was just for part of the day was all and Like I said I don’t think I hit my macros for that day and I was definitely calorie Deficient for that day. I ended up having to sub in some candies ( which I actually didn’t even eat) just to make my 1200 minimum calorie eaten a day just to be able to post my diary. I think…
  • New topic to refresh post for all who are Interested in giving their opinions. My question is, when just starting out losing weight and eating healthy, is it perfectly ok to see weight gain from 1 week to the other vs. Weight loss even when exercising and eating properly for the most part. I felt discouraged when I saw…
  • Redsylks1805. Just checking in. How are you doing today?
  • Thanks guys! Yeah I got my appetite back later that night, but I was just curious. I appreciate all you guys post and opinions. Very novice in my journey to regain my health here and just wanted to make sure that if I go 1 day here or there not feeling hungry that it’s not a big deal. What I didn’t want to do was feel like…
  • Of course. I was feeling a little down when no one responded the first time around, but I’m glad you all want to keep in touch. And anyone else is welcome too. We all need a shoulder to lean on from time to time and an ear...er an eye in this case lol to listen. 😊
  • Didn’t get any responses so I’m posting to refresh.
  • Thanks everyone for your posts. You’ll be happy to know that I did get my appetite back and plan on eating a nice filling dinner, and although I may not reach all my macros 100%, I at least can chalk my non appetite to just that. Just not hungry and not some underlying health condition. Thanks again!
  • Thanks. Yeah It doesn’t happen to me like ever, but I also don’t want to feel like I’m force feeding myself when I simply am not feeling hungry. I am just hoping if I don’t get my macros for today it’s not a big deal. I’m sure this will pass, I may be hungry tonight lol just so far today I haven’t felt hungry and didn’t…
  • Good luck! You can do it. We all in this together!
  • I’d like to add you if you want. New to the site, but could always have more people for support and motivation. Much easier to do it when you have like minded people to talk with. If you don’t know how to add that’s ok just let me know and I’ll do it.
  • I’m 38, but also looking for a partner to track calories with and manage macros for accountability. If intrested send me an invite
  • You can add me too if you’d like. I would add you, but I do not know how to.
