I have been reading quite a bit less than normal or average for me. It will pick up in the near future. I bought a one month subscription to Sling TV app so that I can watch the World Baseball Classic which ends next Tuesday night (the only way I can get access to Fox Sports 1). Generally I read in the evenings but I have…

Terry is best known for his fantasy series Discworld, you may like it better. It is 40-some books (not long books) and has various story ARCs following different characters. I haven't read any of that yet, but it is on my list, I have collected 2 of the ARCs in audiobook format to give it a go. (I guess you can read it in…

I decided just to finish up The Long Earth series with book 5, The Long Cosmos. It isn't great but it isn't terrible either. Sir Terry Pratchett died in 2015 when this book was being co-written so it is mostly Stephen Baxter who finished it. RIP Terry.

The Blade Itself (The First Law book 1) by Joe Abercrombie is turning into a good read for fantasy.

I found Blackberry Bellini and Pineapple Blues (green teas) in my sampler flight (20 different sample packets) from Tiesta. I had to order a pound of each! It is wonderful and withstands a second steeping (non-caffeinated but still flavorful the second time).

I will have to see where my reading muse is when I get to a spot where I can look at the challenge. I like to read very eclectically (random genres, I'll read sci-fi for a while and then jump to western or romance on a whim) and a lot depends on when library holds come in for me (immersion reading using audiobooks in…

News flash! I finished a book! Now reading its sequel, The Long War (The Long Earth #2) by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter! (I must be feeling a tad better...)

No need to finish a book you are not enjoying unless you want to. I usually finish what I start, I haven't quit in a while even when a book deserved it. My progress in The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter is being hampered by the flu. I have not been professionally diagnosed, just guessing from the symptoms…

I calculated the year a couple of days early. I read 140 books and my spreadsheet says I read for 4 hours and 45 minutes per day average every day this year. I might finish one or two more books by the 31st but my average probably won't change very much at this point. This includes days when I read nothing and days when I…
