This may be weird: I ate a totally ridiculous amount of amazing food without guilt! I've been very good about eating for months, I'm down almost 100lbs in a year. My friend took me out to a Brazillian BBQ and I got absolutely stuffed. Because I knew this was a special treat, not "cheating" or giving up on the plan, I felt…

I'm within 10 lbs of being -100 from my max (which was last summer).

Good job! You can, and you'll feel better for it.

Congratulations, and well done! You'll feel better and thank yourself for it!

4 months ago got a scary diagnosis, not the least of which was that my A1C had gone from pre-diabetic to very very diabetic. New tests today, A1C is in normal range, all other tests improved (losing 35 lbs helped!). It's a good day.

1) It takes time, be patient with yourself. 2) It's not all about weight or a specific measurement, you'll feel better soon!

I no longer contemplate whether it's worth going up and down the stairs, since it doesn't hurt or wind me anymore. Also, my damn jeans keep falling off my (reduced) *kitten* :)

My goal for the year is to hit 300 (I was over 400 6 months ago). Mini goal WAS 350, which I hit today. 325 is next. Zeno would be proud :)

Yup, spent the last couple of years riding the depression/anxiety roller coaster. Things that have helped: 1) Some form of mindfulness. Meditation works for me, but everyone is different. If you go that route, bear in mind that being mindful is not the same thing as being happy or at peace, but it can help you get there.…

Logging is remarkably helpful, even if you're not following a particular diet plan.

Sorta. Or more accurately, I'll buy jeans that are the last size I bought, despite me knowing that the ones I'm currently wearing (and are already tight) are worn/broken in/stretched. And so of course they don't fit. However... Over the last few months I've dropped enough weight (and 6 inches) that I'm now able to wear…

My favorite shirts are no longer tight, and they are magically getting longer!
-
Good job! Pretty soon you're gonna notice it getting easier/faster, too.

Immediate: Diet and exercise improvements to improve labs and decrease meds (it's working!) Short term: Soon I'll be closer to 300 than 400, and will be down over 90 lbs. Mid term: Break 300 by a cruise in 10 months.

My best friend pointed out that I was noticeably not struggling on a recent nature walk, which I had been the last couple of years.
-
Well done! Glad you're feeling good. They won't all be great, or easy, but you're on a good path.

I got some scary medical news that made losing significant weight pretty much mandatory. In the months since then, diet and exercise changes have improved all my test results quite a bit. I'll have to take fewer (maybe no) meds, and odds are I'll live longer, feeling better! Also, I'm having the odd experience of going…

The first digit of my weight should change in a week or so, and soon I'll be 90% the man I used to be. Still early days, but progress!

Shirts that were tight now fit well, shirts that didn't fit are now tight :)
-
Well done!

That's pretty cool, really. The mental part is really the hard part in all this.

It felt pretty damn good. Some docs, like any other profession, are jerks. I dumped one after her initial "plan" was to recommend a couple of diet websites and say she expected me back, 40 lbs lighter, in 2 months. Another went "Palpitations? Probably not anxiety, you're fat, so must be enlarged heart" after about 30…

Today, for the first time ever, a doctor said "You're doing great, keep doing what you are doing"

Tuna, cherry tomatoes, Klamata olives, mustard, a bit of relish and mayo, maybe sun dried tomato, some garlic or hummus, all mixed up and eaten with a spoon. Basically, a breadless tuna fish sandwich with veggies. Not gourmet, but it's a satisfying lunch for around 400kcal with loads of flavor.

My blood pressure is consistently back in the normal range.

Good evening folks. For most of my life I've been big, but never let it limit me. With age (today is my 45th), size has caught up with me, so I'm serious about losing weight and improving general health. Goal is to lost 100 by my next birthday, and about twice that, long term. Nice to meet everyone!
