  • This could be nice. I work out alone in my living room every day and it's okay, but it would be nice to get have some workouts with others for encouragement and a change of pace!
  • I mostly work out at home, where my only equipment right now is a thick (10mm) yoga mat and a pair of 5 pound dumbbells. I find most of my workouts on YouTube, and I have a few exercise DVDs. On YouTube, I always look for workouts that include very clear form instructions (tons of videos these days are just music with no…

  • I haven't tried this challenge before, but I like the idea! I will aim for 28 hours or more this month (an average of an hour per day). 01 February 40 minute kickboxing video 0.67/28
  • I like Now Sports Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, available on Amazon. It is very finely ground, with no sweetener or flavour, so I can easily add it to lots of different kinds of things. Sometimes I even whisk a little into soup if I need a bit more protein.
  • Agreed. I do not like weird compliments from random strangers, and yet I used to laugh and smile whenever I got them, in an effort to try to diffuse the tension and hide the deep discomfort I was feeling. I'm trying to get over this, because I don't want to send the message that this behavior is appropriate or appreciated.
  • Another boxing video today. I didn't love this one, but it was alright. https://youtu.be/YJ3QuchrUNA
  • I've been making a lot of soups (lentil, cauliflower), stews (chickpea, white bean), and roasted vegetables. A friend asked me to write down my red lentil soup recipe. I'm pasting it below for anyone else who is interested; this soup is very popular with vegans and meat eaters alike! Turkish Red Lentil Soup 2 tsp Olive Oil…
  • I did this one today. I've been doing it a couple of times a week lately. I really like Christa DiPaolo's boxing videos; her form instructions are clear and she's so encouraging! https://youtu.be/A2S8P80JKc4
  • Good topic! I listen to a lot of Sia and Robyn during high intensity workouts. I definitely find that I can push myself harder with the right music and have been building my playlist for a while.
  • I don't have an air fryer, but I do use a convection oven, which is the same technology. I have had very good luck making fries coated with the following method: whisk together cornstarch and hot water to create a sort of gel or very thick paste. Add a bit of oil. Coat fry-cut potatoes well and convection bake or airfry. I…
  • It's so nice to see where people are getting their exercise! From my walk today:
  • I have the same problem. Very common exercises don't appear in the database, and there aren't easy ways to enter e.g. arm workouts, abs workouts, etc. It's completely impractical to enter, say, 10+ individual exercises performed over the course of an hour. I also find calorie burn estimates to be somewhat arbitrary. It…
  • As others have said, Boca original seems to be the lowest in calories. Personally, I don't much like them. I do like the Boca Spicy Chicken burgers; I think they are 130 calories (as opposed to something like 80), but I'd rather have something that will leave me happy and satisfied and rather than something I don't much…
  • I'm mostly vegan and have gotten a lot of very good information from this website: https://veganhealth.org, run by a vegan nutritionist. Things I like for breakfast: oatmeal with soy milk and a few nuts, smoothies with frozen fruit, soy milk, and brown rice protein, banana mashed up with powdered peanut butter (for busy…
  • I lived in upstate NY for several years, so I have been in your situation. Of course, snow shovelling is great exercise! Apart from that, there are YouTube workouts for all fitness levels. Search for videos that match your fitness level and the time you have (e.g. "30 minute hiit workout" or "20 minute low impact workout",…
