  • Fantastic! Steady loss is the way to go!
  • Sure, it's good timing too because I'm going out of town Tuesday and it'd help me stay on track!
  • Was pretty stressed before I finished moving storage spaces today - woohoo it's done! Losing wt bc of stress from it and flying to Abq NM in 2 days for my dad's thyroid cancer surgery Wed morning. Haven't flown since my stroke and even a while before that. Got my covid and flu shots last week so I'm glad that's out of the…
  • I love this group you started! It's small enough so I remember members and big enough that I get good advice, tips and encouragement from a lot of different people. I also discovered the "quote" button below comments which makes it super easy to respond to people. Thanks again for starting this thread. :)
  • Congratulations on hitting the 20 lb loss - that's amazing! I've been hitting below my 1200 calorie limit too and not feeling hungry or like I don't have enough energy. I've been exercising a lot since last week too so I think I'm getting stronger too.
  • I had a similar experience - gained a 2 lbs in 2 days but I'm attributing that to weighing in too soon. I've been exercising a lot and staying below 1200 calories so I'm sure that'll be reflected soon when I weigh in again on Friday. I do know I need to work in more fiber so I bought a bunch of broccoli. Luckily I love it…
  • Also, I LOVE Chicago! Can't wait to visit again.
  • Welcome! I'd love to know the easiest steps tracker out there too so if anyone has advice please let us know. I've been doing intermittent fasting since I joined this group and started checking out the community side of MFP. I've lost 8 lbs in about 6 weeks so yes, I think I've had success.
  • Lost another pound so that's a total of 8 lbs lost since finding this group about a month and a half ago. It's kinda dwindling so I'm bummed bc it's been so much help to me. Any recs for other motivation and accountability resources?
  • Thanks and same to you! I had such a good day and think it's because I'm getting a lot out of this thread. I finally put a big dent in emptying my storage space which involves a lot of moving and cleaning so I've gotten a ton of exercise. It feels really good to get it done so thank you all so much. :)
  • Your amazing 10k/day track record motivated me to update my smartwatch and link my phone apps so I can track my steps too. I love seeing the steps accumulate on my watch and then feel such satisfaction inputting them on this site. Funny how we're all different at what kind of stuff motivates us; I love that. I've been…
  • Great job - that's really impressive!!
  • Once I haven't had sugar for a few days in a row I definitely stop craving it. I noticed I started putting sugar in my coffee just because it was right next to the coffee pot. It took only a week before I started really craving it and I noticed today when I had my coffee without it like I used to I really wanted to reach…
  • Thanks for writing this! I discovered the area where we can see others lil progress updates last week. It's a real mood booster to see all the 'likes' and encouraging words. I haven't been a member of a group or thread before on this website so it's been fun discovering new aspects of it. I can't believe you do 10k…
  • Had such a great day staying in my calorie range of 1200 calories/day and also did 3 hours of cleaning and moving my storage space. I had a stroke 5 yrs ago and gained a lot of weight while sedentary in bed afterwards while recovering and also eating way too much from stress about my future and plain ole feeling sorry for…
  • I don't know where you live but here the big grocery store chain is Safeway. On Fridays they have $6 Sushi day with good size portions. I always look forward to it because I pick up several and it gets me through the wknd because I freeze some of them. Maybe there's sushi place near you that delivers or you can order…
  • Friday weigh-ins (doing calorie deficit with goal of ~1200/day plus walking). • @tashrifica I'm going to work in your tips as I'm completely sedentary now working behind a computer. It seems like the only time I get exercise is when I walk to the store or clean. Another member of the group who I've been emailing with for motivation and encouragement said she went for a walk with a neighbor and her…
  • Hi and welcome to the group! What do you do to motivate yourself to go for walks? I'm having trouble with that. I do follow some stretching/yoga youtube videos and will post them after I go look, thanks.
  • I remembered an easy way to fend off cravings: brush your teeth or chew some gum! Those tastes will help make other foods unappetizing for a while at least, and every little bit helps. :)
  • ddsb1111 Posts: 322 Member 8:47AM I have to ask, why does everyone stress the very married part? I believe I saw in another thread that she wanted an intro with the friend requests so she knew they weren’t a perv. This concerns me, does this happen? Have you had personal experiences on here where several people made you…
  • Doing a bit better, feel back on track after a stressful week last week. Scale says I lost a pound so maybe my weight is evening out after the few rough days I had. Tomorrow will be busy so I should have another good day. Hope you all are doing well.
  • Sounds like a few of us had a rough week last week. I missed Friday's weigh-in too. I'd lost 6 lbs & then today I saw I'd gained back 2. I definitely eat when stressed and last week was certainly stressful. I need to work on not automatically turning to food when I'm anxious. I do much better when I don't have snacks in…

  • Great work - I know took a lot of work! How'd you lose it? Working2BBetter wrote: » Hi everyone, I am 51, married, Mom to 3 teenagers and Work Full time. I have about 40 lbs to shed. • Joining the Friday weigh-ins (doing calorie deficit with goal of ~1200/day plus walking). Starting weight: 194 lbs Goal weight: 140 lbs 9/01 190 (-4) tbh it's mostly water weight, I'm sure it'll be slower moving forward. 9/08 9/15 9/22 9/29
  • I watched a Netflix show about living to 100, title was something about living in blue zones. If you watch the last episode's first 15min it'll sum it up nicely in case you don't have time to watch all 4 episodes. It had great tips on everyday exercise, support/motivation, and of course the common aspects all the 100 year…
