Four days a week I stir together a bit under 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, half cup of uncooked oatmeal, a 2/3 scoop of protein powder (vanilla) and then dice up an apple. Stir it all together. ~30 grams protein and about 350 calories. Good start to fiber, too. Black coffee.

I took a break 18 months ago after losing 25 lbs. I had maybe a dozen business casual pants altered to have the waist taken in but they are still loose and the legs I’ve learned are much larger than a proper pair of pants would be. I ended up buying three new pants mostly for when I’m presenting to customers or management.…

Just start losing weight now. Keep it up through December. Then You will be lighter by 1/1/2024 and if these are truly decent friends rather than gloating they won an impossible bet they will congratulate you on what you had achieved and you can thank them for their prodding to get you started. Then keep it up in 2024 and…

I mountain bike or road bike near daily in the summer and I have the same issue every spring when I first get back on the bike. I’m ravenous usually just after a ride and sometimes a few hours later. It always goes away after three or four weeks. I’m guessing the body adapts. But otherwise avoid binging to get full fast. A…

My business travel resumed a few months ago and I found myself getting some snacks at news stands rather than restaurants. A Clif Bar, Kind Bar and a yogurt usually worked for lunch or breakfast. Calories aren’t insane and all can be logged. I end up at Panera often for lunch while on appointments. Rather than stare at my…

Look into custom inserts for your sneakers. Not the Dr Scholls at the drugstore but the kind from a chiropractor or The Good Feet Store. Sports doctors may also offer them. You stand on a flat bed scanner which scans the soles of your feet. It takes about two weeks for the inserts to be made. I did it about five years ago…

After dropping from 203 lbs I spent most of July stuck at 181 +/- 2 lbs every day for four weeks. It finally fell into high 170s in August. Ranging between 176 to 180 the past 10 days but definitely inching downwards. I didn’t change too much in August apart from I have not had any alcohol since August 1 and plan to skip…

Might want to see a rheumatologist. I have an inherited condition called pseudo gout that inflames knees and elbows when they are stressed. Rheumatoid arthritis meds fixed me up and I have sent friends to the same doctor with success. Just saying it can appear as tendinitis when it isn’t. Mike

I’d never tell anyone who just started going to the gym they are wasting their time. Keep going, but my bet is in a few weeks you will start to get a bit bored with the exact same routine regardless of what exercises you were doing. At that point start looking around for some variety. YouTube is a good resource but bear in…

I’ve been stuck at 182 for about 10 days. Friday morning was 180. Saturday morning was 184. Same happened at 194 but I stuck with the plan and eventually got back on track. I’ve averaged 1lb lost per week the past four months but I’ve not lost 1 lb *every*week. Drinking more water will reduce the retention. Mike

In April I spent 3 weeks locked on 194 lbs +/- 1lb. Three weeks. Absolutely frustrating. Stayed focused and on calorie plan and weight finally started coming off again. 183 lbs this morning. I haven’t seen that since 2001. Don’t starve yourself. It doesn’t work. Mike

In April I was stuck at 193 +/- 1 lb for three or four weeks after losing my first 6 lbs. Drove me bananas seeing the same thing every morning. Eventually the weight started coming down again. Been at this for 12 weeks now and I have averaged 1lb per week over that time but definitely not lost 1lb each week. Mike
