  • Build it up. See if you can do one 10 minute video a week for a month. Then the next month you do two videos a week or a longer one. (Or a yoga workout, whatever). If you build it up slowly and rest enough between workouts, listen to your body, you can avoid most injuries. If something feels wrong, stop the movement and…
  • This week's gymnastics homework was all arms and arms are my weak point still. It was 4x10 assisted strict pull ups. The first 5 of each set were proper and doable, the last 5 were willpower and failure, as I only got my eyes up to the bar. Still a win imo. Then 4 sets of 15 ring rows with the trx and 10 db bicep curls per…
  • What are primary measurements? I see people mention a total number of inchds all the time but no one ever shares what they measured. Great job though!
  • I had extreme hunger around lunch so I ate a cottage cheese, a whole frozen pizza, a carrot cake-flavoured date bar, 1/3 proteine bar that was left over from saturday, and some lotus root chips. Finally, I felt okay. It was still well under calories so an hour later I also had a popsicle to bump my calories up a bit to a…
  • We had to do a 12 min emom of 1 hang snatch + 2 overhead squats at the highly intimidating weights of 55%, 65% and 75% for 4 sets each. Doing regular snatch grip overhead squats really hurts my wrists so I have to do a grip that's halfway between snatch and clean. But I can't snatch, let alone hang snatch, with that…
  • I have been extremely tired all day for some unknown reason (potentially just being overstimulated) but I went to the gym anyway and performed really well. I surprised myself and got a ton of compliments, though my trainer was completely unsurprised because in his head I'm some kind of superwoman so for him it was another…
  • I log the full amount of every liquid I drink. So I would log a soft drink, tea, coffee, water, milkshake, cocktail, etc. I would not log soup, the milk in my cereal, etc. But I mostly log out of curiosity, I have pretty good thirst signals and I read them well so I rarely get dehydrated and my "water" intake varies from…
  • @gbj4120 I just need to confirm that gbj does not stand for gay baby jail. You're young enough to have me questioning whether someone would on this site. Great job reaching your goals. Also wow, steep loss this month!
  • I eat well and still have a bunch of sugar and stuff and I was cat 3 obese during the entire pandemic and I caught it in February, had a sore throat for 2 days, a cough for 2 days (1 overlapping), and sneezed 5 times. I'm very fit and healthy, just fat. It's nbd. In fact, I had my first McDonald's meal in a decade last…
  • @MikePfirrman yikes, that's awful. Just takes away any desire to go back to the place or at the very least sparks the impulse to check the schedule every few hours to make sure he didn't sign up for the same class. Definitely good idea to report, I will do that if this happens again. Most of the guys at our gym are more a…
  • Agreed with everyone else who already answered. If you don't have a clear idea of how much you're consuming, it's very easy to overeat if you exercise a lot. I was cat 1 obese for 3 years, then cat 2 obese for another 3 years while exercising a lot and eating healthy foods. If you do decide to do more spinning anyway,…
  • Yesterday we went shopping so it was mostly walking. I tried to rest my knee as well as I could and the pain lessened enormously. Today's regular workout consisted solely of stuff I couldn't do because of my back or ankle so I decided to skip it. Apparently everyone was feeling exhausted from saturday's competition. I did…
  • I just realised that I could breach the triple digits treshold by this time next year. My mum suggested we go on vacation to Montenegro next year together and I agreed but today it hit me that if I lose a little under 0,5kg a week, I could totally lose 23-26kg in the next year. This is super daunting to think about. I'm at…
  • @sbortnick fat loss can be masked on the scale but if your measurements are down, especially when you're down clothing sizes!!, you have been successful. The scale isn't everything. Maybe there's a whoosh coming, maybe you did a recomp, maybe eating at maintenance for a week or decreasing your exercise for a week will get…
  • My cousin and her family arrived about 20min after I did last night so I haven't had the chance to step on the scale. I was exhausted from my weightlifting thing and traveling over 3,5 hours because my train got delayed so I fell asleep around 9.30pm and slept until 9.30am. I did feel refreshed this morning. We didn't have…
  • During lockdown it was around 0C and I worked out outside. You get used to it and 5 min into the workout I was sweating and had to take off my sweater. The other day it was 30C and while there were fans cooling the gym down, I was a sweaty mess 5 min in. I had to take ofr my shirt and even in tiny leggingshorts and a…
  • Are you saying you were losing 3 or 4 lbs per week? Or 0.75lbs a week?
  • Today was my first weightlifting competition and I placed 5th! I did a 45kg snatch and a 52kg c&j, both of which are PRs I've only done right then and there. It was terrifying and stressful and heavy but in hindsight I had a lot of fun.
  • There was a surprise weigh in at the competition today. It said 125kg. I got 5th place in the women's category! It's based on (your heaviest snatch + your heaviest clean and jerk) × a coefficient based on your body weight. I got a new pr in both lifts! I did a 45kg snatch and a 52kg c&j! Very happy 😊
  • @kenziestabes great pics! I always have trouble picturing someone roughly my age and height losing weight from 100+kg. It sometimes seems like it's all tiny women who lose like 35 lbs and go down 6 clothing sizes and that never translates to my body. So even though your starting point is some 15-20lbs down from my current…
  • @KeriA thredup looks cool. I'm bound by location to stick with zalando and asos so I kinda know what to look for there and sometimes I luck out and find a great piece from a place that's completely new to me. And sometimes I miscalculate... but yeah, I don't have many useful clothing suggestions for people in the US
  • So my order was a complete bust and I am very surprised because the only bad reviews this company has are because of their return policy. I haven't heard a single negative word about their products. Meanwhile I purchased 2 leggings and one sports bra. One pair of leggings was much too small (understandably so) and the…
  • The scale was up to 126,5kg today. Possibly because I didn't get enough sleep and was stressed over a work deadline. I made it though. My workout was good. It felt pretty easy and we were done way fast so it feels more like an active rest day, which is good because of tomorrow's competition. It occurred to me that my…
  • 21-15-9 hanging knee raises, some were kipping, others strict, empty bar hang power clean with a focus on fast elbow movement (very easy to practice when the empty bar feels like a wooden stick, I guess I'm gaining strength), and plate step ups on 3 stacked 20kg plates in 9:44. My hands are ripped apart, which is…
  • I did a month's worth of work in a day and half. It's purely because I slacked off for a month that I need to be super productive now but imagine what I could do if I had any kind of regular attention span.
  • An hour of pilates. My back and ankle hurt all day so I took it easy.
  • I just cannot figure out how to share pictures here from my phone app so instead I made an instagram account specifically to share pictures with this group. My username there is the same as my username here so if you're curious or wanna connect, I'm open to it. I had fun with a photo editing app making everything other…
  • 107kg is an important milestone for me too! It's the switch to cat 1 obesity. I think it would be nice to reach it in the next 8 or 9 months. It's currently 16,5kg away. But first I'd like to move to the 2nd category of obesity, which is only a kg away at 122,5kg! So that should be doable before September. I decided to…
  • 😂😂 My weight us up to 125,2kg today, which is nice because the highs are getting lower too. I put 123kg as my weight for the competition and normally they allow for 2kg variation in either direction but I know for this one they won't make us weigh in ánd if they did I'm the only woman participating in my weight class…
  • I went to the gym intending to do the gymnastics 'homework', which consisted of a bunch of beat swings, active shoulders hold, banded lat pull downs, adjusted bent over rows and db bicep curls, because the regular workout had double unders (which I can't do because of my ankle), sit ups (which I can't do because of my…
