  • It's slow compared to some people I've seen on here, but everyone goes at their own pace I guess! Thanks for the encouraging words :)
  • 1800 sounds like a lot. I'm 6'1", 247lbs, and do cardio 45-60min 4x per week and I averaged 1645 calories last month to lose weight. When my wife (5'5", 140lbs, 4x/week runner) needed to lose some extra weight she was eating 1250-1300 calories a day to lose 1-1.5lb/week.
  • 4x as much as you, at Day 16 now. 15 pounds down. I did the same thing - no more frozen pizza, one sandwich at a time...hard for the first 10 days or so, then gets easier a day at a time.
  • "Calories in, calories out." It's an effective but simplistic way to think about human metabolism. From a purely thermodynamics point of view, it works (as evidenced by the millions of people who have lost weight with apps like MFP), but emerging science suggests it may not be the single most optimal weight-loss strategy…
