Walkingtofit, it's normally when I'm already away is the biggest challenge, last week I'd bought and a wrap before leaving, it was when I got to the airport was a challenge. I've never really taken food through security but I guess if water is the issue, it should be fine. Another good day yesterday, my wife made new…

Hi surfergirl1982, take your time, the thread isn't going anywhere 😃 Agree freefor40, I've often struggled at the airport or train station, last trip there was actually no veggie choice in the shops. Been a good weekend for me, declined takeaway on Saturday and had a really nice homemade curry. I was about to make a ham…

Hi Greaterthanlife and mayers_janice happy to have you share your journey however it works best. Yours and others sharing your journeys has kept this alive for me. So my goal for Thursday was to go to the gym, I did not as my wife wanted me home to fit a collar of shame to the cat, it was an easy excuse. But, I have stayed…

Day 266 also Don't have my notepad with me What am I truly grateful for within my life? The great family I had growing up, we don't spend much time together now but it was great to see them on Monday and had a great laugh. I was never alone. What is one thing I must do today? Go. To. The. Gym. Simply, all the reasons in…

Really felt it yesterday, achy across the chest and legs. Good though. Stayed on it yesterday, prepped lunch and my wife made a lasagne with salad. I made some extra broccoli and prepped it for lunch with peppers and fish. I've got my gym stuff with me, took me an hour on the bus last night as it's getting busier. If I do…

So, a great night out with family that I really don't see properly often enough. Had the day off today and decided to be a brave little soldier. I'm the heaviest I've ever been, at 18 stones dead on. Or 114.4 Kilos. BMI of 35. Weirdly my BP isn't too bad, I thought it would be through the roof as I've felt hot headed and…

Thanksgiving a great time to enjoy food walkintofit, hope you and others had a good day and weekend. Also a good time to reflect on the year and what comes next. I read a brief article this Morning about people becoming more comfortable with themselves to go to places like a restaurant and the cinema. I worked all over the…

It wasn't easy but yesterday was a success, picked up a southern fried chicken wrap just before I left. The options at the airport were terrible but I ended up with an egg sandwich and a protein bar. Also didn't snack when I got home. Tracked both days and stayed well within, need a bit more fruit/veg though, I'll pick…

Welcome Adivisser2024 to our temple of health and wellbeing 🤣 That breakfast did sound nice, eggs and tomato. I did well yesterday, stuck to my original plan, datbin the bar, they only had chicken ceasar as a starter, so I had bruschetta too and had 2 plates. Both delicious and I felt quite good afterwards enjoying a…

I got some company today in my favourite canal zen spot for breakfast. Thanks for sharing sadaffaheem, that's a great plan, I've just finished eating but garlic herb shrimp just sounds divine. I paused counting over the weekend. I did make some good choices though, cheated last night after my commute here, the most…

I love that quote greaterthanlife "what you do today affects your tomorrows" I was thinking yesterday about the zen feelingI enjoy so much when I'm away and I couldn't figure out why it was so specific to those Mornings. When I normally commute to work, I wake up tired and go for the bus, the bus is busy, the walk up to…

That said, I still did 6k steps yesterday. Not bad for not really thinking about it. When I commute to work normally, it's 5/6k steps to and from the bus and whatever I do in the office.

Oh dear, the amount of times I've written a post only to nudge myself off the app and have to start again. I thought it would fizzle out myself much earlier on, I've been really surprised by the engagement in the thread with a couple of people sharing their own journeys, greaterthanlife and walkintofit in particular, its…

Your meals are always so interesting Greaterthanlife. Tilapia is available but not so common here. My breakfast was avocado and poached eggs on sourdough, mainly as I'm in a hotel so it's cheating 🤣 I'm in an apartment rather than a room so I went to grab dinner last night, Ii was super hungry so I bought a tikka massala…

Not sure about the pain but I struggled to sleep for years for various reasons. I'd often play tv or series with headphones in to distract my wandering mind. I sleep now with silicone earplugs in and then a bluetooth eye mask. I play an 8 hour brown noise track of a waterfall. Works really well, most nights I'm straight…

Good suggestion walkintofit I made a good start on Saturday but then ordered takeout, it was really nice though. Yesterday was better, I finished the leftovers and made some good choices, also tracked it which I started Saturday but gave up when I cheated. I really felt it Saturday night and Sunday Morning, my BP, I'm sure…

Ill tell you what I really struggle with and I think it's the ADHD/spicy brain thing. I love using this channel to keep a tenuous link and some accountability but I really struggle getting change going and the habit to form. I know what a good diet should look like. I've got access to MFP and other programmes if needed…

Day 246 (I think), I thought I'd go back and see when I last counted. Took a day yesterday and felt better for it. Just munching on a porridge pot with cranberries and raisins, very nice. Wife is away this weekend, so I think I'll do some surprise jobs assuming it's dry. Christmas lights up across the roof. No decs just…

Wasn't that evening but we did have a decent walk yesterday, up to Blackpool for the lights. Hour and half drive but was worth it, not been for years. Fish and chips and cinder toffee, amazing. My Dad does yoga in the week, it's been something I've thought about for many years, hopefully relaxing and stretching. Maybe I'll…

Yes, veggies and fruit. I've got my orange this Morning again and I'll go and pick up a small salad to go with my quiche. I'm planning later on prepping tomorrow's salad and also for next week. I get bored and turned off from some salads and end up buying lunch instead, so I'll try prepping more interesting stuff in…

I've just had the same Walkintofit, 2 days off with no plan. Except rest the brain and body. Did some jobs, fitted a floating shelf and sorted some wiring in the kitchen ate badly and played computer games. Best time ever. I've set some priorities to get me through the next months hopefully with some progress. 1 - Sleep 2…

Oh wow, your own wine, that sounds interesting. Do you do red or white? I do have a decent porridge pot most mornings, I was making them with some protein powder and chia, but because I use water, they tasted a bit flat so I reverted back to pre made pots, I think they have whitener/thickener.

That is a funny story Walkintofit 🤣 That's when you know you are gonna have a great co worker too. It's day 3 of orange and nana breakfast, I don't feel any more powerful, it must be working. 🤣 Forgot how much I love oranges, they are just so much of a pain to eat. Definately an "is the juice worth the squeeze" situation.

Thanks Walkintofit, some good suggestions there. Time to put the thinking cap on. I've started a new habit this week, randomly, along with my porridge pot, an orange and banana for breakfast. I'm trying to hold off my coffee for a bit later in the Morning. The extra fibre and Vit C will be much appreciated. "Each person…

That's interesting about the meds Jamie, I've always struggled with sleep medication, leaves me fuzzy headed the next day. You'll probably benefit more when you do use it as exception rather than the norm. Some good questions there Walkintofit, that's what I need to figure out, what could I do some evening classes for. I'm…

Wow, love that view of the canyon and bridge. I did take a pic the day before but it was the city rather than the mountains, I couldn't catch it right through the window and with the light. Nice moment though. Yeah the Contact Centre thing is always "people have to be working as hard as possible" everything is measured and…

All welcome 🤣 I started it after seeing something similar to count days and track progress. It's become more of a journaling home for people sharing their journey, love it either way. Love the idea of that canyon walk, I need to find something similar where I can turn my brain off for a bit and reflect. I also need to deal…

3 times I've typed this, the turning my phone seemed to reset the page for some reason Anyway, well done walkintofit that's great progress, any positive change is good. I'm so glad you and the others found a home here to check in with each other and find se accountability. It's funny, I struggle to keep the routine and…

That salad sounds amazing. I've tracked so far this week and will continue with the same, I do need an injection of more veggies during the day, I'll see where I can find these.
