I don't agree, andreajlnhe. Losing weight is far more complicated than "just math". Our bodies are complex machines and there is a ton of chemistry going on just to keep us upright. Not everybody is looking for "quick and easy"; just effective and maintainable. That's all I want.

Checking in. That's all. Just checking in.

Good morning, @iLive2Walk I don't know what to believe about weight loss. I see all kinds of comments for CI/CO and IF and Keto and all the rest and every one has fans and every one has detractors. I read the medical sites (WebMD and Mayo Clinic and my health insurance) and they all say the same thing "move more, eat…

good morning, all. My workout app sent me a congratulatory message for my winning streak! I don't know if it's motivating, but it is nice to be recognized. If only by an algorithm. :-)

Well, this sucks. After three full weeks of exercising everyday plus getting my steps in everyday plus watching every bite that goes in my mouth - I have lost eight ounces. Why do I even bother.
-
Good day to all. I forgot to weight this morning, but have kept plenty busy knocking snow off the roof and replacing base board heaters. What a day!
-
I guess you can't just keep editing your earlier posts? No matter. The scale said 159.6 this morning. Not going to get excited. This is the third time I've seen that weight. We'll see what it says on Monday.
-
I have no idea. I put "walking workout" into Google and launched the first one!

So.... I may be slow. I just noticed that a lot of people are updated their initial post every day and not starting a new post. That actually makes a lot of sense; but I am not willing to post my weight for public view. I could maybe just post whether I met my goals for the day.
-
I thought being snow bound meant I couldn't get my steps in. I was WRONG! I found a 30 minute boosted walking workout on line and just had one of the better workouts of my life. Go me!
-
I'm not going to get my steps today. SNOW BOUND.

Checking in and absolutely screaming with frustration. I gained two pounds. After two WEEKS of not missing a workout. Two weeks of logging every bite and sip. I didn't hit my calorie goal on Saturday, and that's it. Weight loss is impossible.
-
Checking in. I did weigh, but in the middle of the day and that scale had better not be accurate. Still holding to my exercise goals.
-
Checking in. Still no batteries for the scale, but that's on today's To Do list.
-
I stepped on the scale this morning at it flashed a number and then went dead. The battery needs replacing. I don't have any confidence in the number I saw so I won't log it until after I replace the battery. Kinda disappointed.
-
Finally making some progress. I guess it takes a week to catch up.
-
Good morning! After a full week of logging and exercising I have finally lost a pound. I'll take it! I've been doing a 10 minute yoga work-out in the morning and 20 at night and haven't missed a day yet. I guess it just took a week to kick in.
-
Another day and another identical weigh-in. I see people here who have already lost pounds and I can't seem to lose an ounce. Grrrrrr.
-
I don't get it. I have not lost a single ounce since last week. I haven't missed a single day of exercise. I had logged every bite I have put in my mouth. I'm going to try one more week to give my body a chance to catch up and then I need to evaluate what I'm doing and what needs to change. Very disappointing.
-
Good morning to all. We'll be digging out from the snow storm overnight. Good exercise! I am still on track with all my logging. Haven't lost any weight yet. It's only 5 days in, so no worries. YET.
-
Well shoot. I forgot to weigh in before I got dressed. I'll do it tonight to say I did it; but it won't be a meaningful number. New habits are hard.
-
Checking in as promised and thoroughly disgruntled. After 4 days of diet and not skipping a single work-out (even in the morning, which is so hard); I managed to gain half a pound. I know it might be water weight - or even muscle gain, or just the time of day. It's still annoying, frustrating, and demoralizing. * Grinds…

Happy Thursday. I'm still getting used to the app. It's about worthless on the phone because of all the ads for Premium, but it works fine from the PC. Another day logged as promised.
-
I'm new here and not at all sure how these challenges work. I am committed to weighing in and logging my food every day. I missed on January 1st but I am up to date now.
-
I appreciate the comments. It doesn't appear the Premium version has anything I want or need. I don't need the recipes or meal plans. I just want to log food and exercise. I'm not going to subscribe just to get rid of the ads. I can generally update from the PC, even though that limits the functionality of the app.
