Get diet back under control and track it here daily. Start exercising. Get more sleep.

You will do just fine. The first 3 to 4 days are rough, but then it just gets better from there!

I had the sleeve on 9/17/14. Height: 5'6 Highest weight: 269 Surgery weight: 240 Pants: 24 Tops: 3x Current weight: app - 183 Pants: 16 Tops: xl I stalled and stopped tracking, so my protein was not good. I am back tracking and trying to make progress again.

It's up to you. I chose the sleeve because I just wasn't comfortable with the rerouting the guts, and viewed it as riskier. I also worried about malabsorption of food. My doctor recommended the rny but said I would do well with either. It's all about what you put into it. A coworker had the sleeve about a month before me…

Hope everything went well!

Hi Helene, welcome to the group! I am pretty new here as well, and has my gastric sleeve done on 9/17. The folks here have been very supportive, and give lots of good insight. :) Brenda

I had trouble dealing with who I would tell, and I tend to be very private. In the family I told my dad, mother in law, and one of my sisters I am very close with. The other sister always made fun of me for being fat, even as an adult, and while I make an effort to be civil, I did not go out of the way to talk to her. We…

Surgery Sisters it is! I hax the sleeve and I am doing well. Came home Friday and was able to start full liquid diet immediately. I have my first follow up tomorrow and get the staples on my abdomen out and he will check my drain site. I imagine staple removal will hurt...

I chose the sleeve for these reasons: no dumping, better absorption of nutrients, no rerouting of guts, and the gherelin producing part is gone, so hopefully no hunger. I am 5 days out, and still happy with my choice. The downside of 5-10% less weight loss is there, but I believe these are just averages, which tells me I…

Just did mine 9/17, so am a few days out. Good luck with everything!

I am new too, but just had surgery 5 days ago. Feel free to add me if you want.

I chose the sleeve for the no hunger reason and the not having to reroute the intestines. I am four days out but love it so far....

I had mine 4 days ago, no hunger, pain under control with meds, and most of the day I don't need it. My energy is ok, I am a little sleeper than normal, especially when I take the pain meds. My mood is fine, no grumpiness. My hubby is trying to diet, but I don't care what he eats as I am not hungry anyways. Overall he is…

I can lose some here and there, but always regained it. I was constantly hungry, and made bad choices because I was in a hurry with life stuff. I just had the sleeve last Wednesday, and I am excited because I am not hungry. Shakes and vitamins give me what I need, and I am not fighting temptation. I know I can't cheat or I…

I just had mine done last Wednesday. I have been trying to lose weight for 20 years and failing. This surgery gives me the chance to succeed, but I have to follow the rules to the letter. No cheating. Good news is I am not hungry at all, and my protein shakes are good, so I know I can lose weight now...
