Yes, you gain weight by going over on calories. But.. sugar won't fill you up like lean protein or fiber, and some sugars, even less! Not all sugars are created equal, despite the parroting here. Fructose can in fact, lead to increased appetite. Glucose will make you feel more full than fructose. (citation:…

Still have to be smart at subway. Lots of bad choices there but lots of good ones too. I had it for dinner tonight. 660 calorie footlong. Roasted chicken breast on wheat, no cheese, spinach, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, green pepper, onion, and giardinara.. no sauces. Still 104 carbs, and almost 1200 mg sodium.. but in a…

McDonald's.. I WAS the movie "supersize me" for quite a while when I had a job I was in the car all day for. Then it was pasta with vodka sauce and Italian sausage with garlic bread.
-
All that and you still want to argue that the body chemical reactions for fullness and satiety are the same whether you fill the stomach by volume or fill it with dense calories, good luck to you!
-
Just another opinion, just like I thought. Have a great day :-)

Nvm, some people think they're right and nothing can change their mind.. It's all very simple and your body tells you everything you need to know, even though you are here trying to lose weight because you listened to your body all along anyway.. whatever. I'm down almost 70 pounds in under 6 months, I'll just keep up my…

What kind of cookies were they? Did your hippy son in law bring them over?

Good advice, grazing is dangerous. When I do it though, cucumbers with lemon juice, green pepper slices and low sodium salsa or pico de gallo is good. Hot sauce is awesome :)

Ok, let's take your milkshake example again. Since you say it isn't 20 minutes let's cut it down say it's 5 minutes. If you try to down as many milkshakes as you can within 5 minutes, do you think you'll get through more than one before your body says "ok, enough, we can't take any more?" I bet you do. Yet, if you drank it…

No, like I said before, and you admitted to, filling your stomach regardless of calorie content will send a signal to stop eating. It's not the same thing we're talking about here. Ever take the gallon of milk challenge? Ever try to chug a gallon of water straight? You're going to throw it up because your stomach can't…

No idea. I was holding at over 300 lbs. Now, I am all the way down to 2050 calories a day to lose 2 pounds a week! I'm eating like a bird now.
-
You might see a pound or 2 come back on the scale, but it will go away in a few days.

1) eggs 2) chicken 3) 96/4 beef 4) tilapia 5) broccoli 6) healthy life wheat bread 7) sugar free jelly 8) crunchy peanut butter 9) protein shakes I don't have a 10th, those 9 are literaly just about all I eat, day in and day out. I don't eat for pleasure, I eat for nutrition. Well, I can't say that. I had a few slices of…

I'm going to pig out and possibly be 1500 calories over my maintenance calories, which would give me an extra 2500 calories over my daily goal, and I'll have gained almost half a pound once all the water weight flushes back out. Once a year, that's probably worth it. A whole half a pound.
-
It's not an instant adjustment to the food you eat. That should be common sense. Just one example.. people who eat slower are generally thinner than people who eat fast. Because it takes time for the chemicals to interact and transmit satiety and pleasure. I'm not debating a 20 minute-not-a-second-longer-not-a-second-less,…

If your goal is simply to feel full, then keep pumping water down your throat.. I don't see that being beneficial for the long term though lol.
-
Nope, if you fill by volume you're going to feel full too, like I said a few posts ago :) That's why I chug water when I'm getting hungry but still have time to my next snack or meal. I end up drinking 1-2 gallons a day, which keeps me hydrated.

Again, thank you for not reading the article I linked, and only the small part I quoted.
-
Since you asked I'll quote some more of the article, which you obviously didn't read, and put it here so you have more info to cherry pick from :) "The breakdown products of foods — amino acids from protein, fatty acids from fat, and glucose from carbohydrates — regulate hormones such as insulin, which affect the process…

It's not a myth. "http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-your-brain-signals-your-bodys-need-for-food.html CCK: When you eat, food enters and fills your stomach and then travels to the intestinal tract. As the food is digested and the body’s cells are fed, a chemical called cholecystokinin (CCK) is released, turning on…

I do curls.. for the girls! 35lb standing dumbbell curls, with the twist. 8-12 reps, 3 sets.

Funny, the local GNS all tell me EAS makes their protein, but it doesn't taste as good because EAS has a patent on their flavors.
-
And eas is the best tasting ;-)

Flavored water gulp, hold breath, immediately chug protein, while still holding breath, Chase again with favored waser, breathe.

True, a liquid detox does stop the flow of bad things into your body for a set period of time though, with the bottom line being roughly the same as a healthy balanced diet at a calorie defecit. I'm not talking about long term detox, I'm talking about ones that are about a week in length, no more. It gives the body a break…
-
I don't think that's relevant to what you've quoted. Incidental correlation.
-
Same thing as herbal life, slim fast, etc.. meal replacement with a low calorie drink. Of course it works, there's nothing in them.
-
Water, 8oz
-
I've seen several people benefit from a cleanse or detox short term liquid diet.
-
Negative, there are different nutrient needs pre and post workout. If you aren't lifting hard I suppose it doesn't matter nearly as much. The rest I can agree with.
