Packer Fan here....I'm thinking most people think we're all drunk rednecks. I'd say that's probably true for about 60% of the fans (and hell...of the people who live around here!). Beer and Brats are 2 major food groups in the state of Wisconsin! as for the greatest rivalry in ALL of sports: Packers-vs- Bears (even when…

I started out at 264 last August. I am now at 228. For what it's worth, please realize that this journey you are starting on is just that. I believe that it doesn't end when you attain whatever goal you've set. all it means is that another goal has presented itself. This is a lifestyle change that will lead to a healthier…

I agree with what everyone else wrote. I have been smoke free for about a year and a half and I still get the occasional craving, but it passes a lot quicker than when I first quit or even six months ago. The weight gain is temporary. I gained WAY MORE than I care to admit, but I think to myself " the weight can be lost,…

I do a small breakfast Monday thru Saturday, A big Breakfast on Sunday (my treat to myself). During the week, my main meal is lunch (i'm a second shifter). I take healthy snacks to work with me and munch on them throughout my shift. a small snack wen I come home completes the day. On the weekends it,s about the opposite.…

I work a kind of modified 2nd shift (1300-2130 hours) What works for me is waking up at the same time every day, and having the discipline to MAKE TIME for my work-out, which can be either cardio or strength training, depending on the day. I usually eat a warm meal before I head off to work and then some healthy low…

Welcome aboard! Everything all the other posters have said is true. You can do this!! Realize that getting healthy and losing weight is a lifestyle change. Yes, you will stumble, but that is part of the process, so accept it for what it is. And cheer yourself for the NSV (non scale victories) that come along, as its is a…

I used to eat breakfast on very rare occasions. Now I make it a point to eat breakfast (not much, just enough to fuel up) every day.

I also can't tell you anything about Chantix, but I can tell you one or two things about quitting smoking. 1.It's HARD 2. It SUCKS 3 It's probably the single MOST IMPORTANT THING you'll ever do for yourself. How do i know these things you ask? I am a former smoker (16 months free) I feel better, I am breathing better, I…

Like another poster said, I HATE THE BMI CHART!! I am 47 and either 6' even or 6'1" depending on which convenience store I'm leaving (props to Ron White aka "Tater Salad"), and according to the BMI chart,(did I mention that I HATE IT,),my ideal weight is supposed to be somewhere between 180 and 200 lbs. That being said,…

It's been about 16 months since I quit my pack a day habit. I can ogree with what others said about quitting being the BEST thing I could do for myself. I have more energy and am working on putting on the weight I gained when I quit (do to quitting smoking and some other things going on at the time). I used the lozenges…

I'll try to be as supportive as possible. My first piece of support is that this is a lifestyle change you are on. That makes it so much easier to stay with it. Feel free to add me if you'de like
I feel ya. Luckily we in Wis. are having an unusually warm winter so far or I'd have to break out the parka.
Also In Wisconsin, Very unseasonable, but it's good for running/ walking. I actually am staring to miss the snow.

Since I've recently started running (or at least trying to), I think mostly about form and technique. Otherwise I use the time to "Defrag" my mind, I.E. clear my mind .
