  • Hey Everyone! I am Holly. I have been competing for the last 18 months and love the sport. I also train general aerobics, crossfit and endurance sports as well. Hope everyone is having a good contest season!
  • I'll start right off by saying, yes, I am a Beachbody Coach. So is my opinion bias...maybe. What I will say is that I drink my Shakeology daily and love it. I either blend up a scoop of chocolate with coconut almond mild and a 1/2 cup of raspberries or I have a scoop of vanilla flavor with a tablespoon of PB. It isn't the…
  • DO IT MAGGIE!!!
  • Hi! I'm Holly. 5'8", 27F, 160-ish #, 22-25% bf. I am actually up almost 10 pounds in the last year from lifting. BUT!!!! My waist is smaller and my body fat is down. So don't let the scale be a judge. I am becoming obsessed with lifting!!! In the last 6 months I have discovered that compound barbell movements are amazing…
  • I am 5'8" and I have to get over the scale. I have always been in the 155 area until the last year. My weight keeps going up and up and up. I weighed in at the gym last week at 163, but here is the kicker ladies.....my bodyfat is down. My belt is one notch down. So my weight goal....whatever. My actual goal, be comfortable…
  • Beachbody has some great programs for at home workouts, no matter the goals. For toning, the new LesMills Pump is a great and complete program. http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/LMpumpbase?referringRepId=133765 Other great programs would be Power 90, P90X or Rev Abs. Pretty much to get the results you are looking…
  • My 1RM max is 175# in a competition. I did 160# last week for 3 reps. Last time I did Grace I used 115# for the 30 reps and my time was 7:30 +/-
  • I have myWOD for crossfit workouts. Gymboss for a tabata timer. iMapMyFitness for a running app. Love them all!
  • 5'8"/female/160# 1RM 320# Just keep going and keep working it. Don't be afraid to load up more weight and challenge yourself BUT always keep good form. I use a mixed grip, left hand facing out.
  • Thanks all. Thanks Maggie. I am really interested on how this works for you. I also try and get those veggie in, but it does take some serious planning. When I get the time to plan and prep out, I am better, but that isn't always the case. I have been primal-ish since last fall. And I can say that I have seen great…
  • WOD 12.5 - 55 reps rx+. Use 75# because that is what I actuallly thought the weight was!
  • breakfast #1 - shakeology, pecans, mango slices breakfast #2 - chocolate chip larabar
  • It is like some sort of freakish super fran. Glad it is capped at 7 min. That means there is an end to it.
  • Pampred Chef also has a micowave chip maker. They also have the "simple slicer" which cuts the potatoes or apples super thin so they are perfect for chips!
  • I'm not officially signed up for the games, but have been doing the workouts on my own. 12.1 - 87 12.2 - 67 12.3 - 6+13 12.4 - haven't dont it yet, not looking forwarad to it. I would love to get to 240, but I doubt it will happen. My DU's aren't that good.
  • Same as above for the most part. I didn't have a problem with it tracking my exercise calories though. You learn information from this that you can't get anywhere else. You learn how and where you body uses calories, what your general daily calorie expenditure is, how many calories you burn during house work, etc. Like…
  • I have been to the box where that kids is pictured lifting! Wow, small world.
  • When you go to a sports store, looks for a cross training and not a runner. It completely varies from person to person what you like. I actually have different shoes for my different training. I LOVE my merrell barefoots for everything except step class. I need more for step. Still hunting for the perfect shoe for step…
  • My bad, got the WOD wrong. 6 rounds 150 yard spring, 12 burpees, 150 yard spring, 2 minute rest. Don't let that rest fool you.

  • Also remember to update your weight in your HRM as you lose!
  • Not just a southern thing. We have it is Maine too! I use it on my lips when they are super chapped and the edges of my nose when it gets all dry from whiping it with a tissue.
  • A girl at the gym called me quadzilla...so I completely hear you all. If you have some weight to lose, your thighs will slim out some. Like mentioned before, if your thighs are large from fat, over all fat loss will slim them down. You can lose fat from specific parts, genetics determins where fat goes first and where it…
  • I agree to all above, plus I will add my hands and nails are not very lady like. My palms are full of rips, tears and calluses. My nails are brittle and peeling from chalk. But my arms and shoulders look great :-)
  • I think whey is ok, in moderation. It shouldn't be your prime source or protein, but doesn't have to be excluded either. Most challenges have rules set up and outline it. They challenge my box did stated whey was ok. I usually have 2 servings a day. One in my shake for breakfast, blended with pineapple and coconut extract.…
  • I had made a great soup a couple weeks ago. I just boiled up cauliflower, onion, celery and carots in just enough broth to cover, then blended it all. The amount of broth you have when you blend it determines the thickness. I had a little too much. It was supposed to be a "cream of" soup, but came out more of just a…
  • Step is the worst in regards to catching on and keeping up. BUT once you learn the steps, calls and how the instructor teaches, I think it is the most fun class. I walked about halfway through my first step class, now 6 months later, I am in the front and leading the pack. Just keep with it, you will learn the moves.…
  • I do so many different things I don't think I can be defined by one. I run, but not a runner. I go to crossfit, but not really a crossfitter. I cycle, but not really a cyclist. But I think that is what keeps workout so much fun. If you are looking to get stronger, sounds like resistance or strength training would be a…
