Sci fi in general. THE DOCTOR. All his regenerations. I have at least 5 model TARDISes, several Daleks of different sorts, some K9s, and other things. I work out listening to the Big Finish Doctor Who audio stories. I read the books. I wear the T shirts. I watched every TV episode in order including the recreations.…

Thanks for sharing. I've been getting the hot flashes thing but not too drastically, not enough to really disconcert me. I've been overweight since I had my son who is ten, and I put on more when I had major health issues several years ago. So I don't know if I'm finding it harder since being peri menopausal. What I was…

Soooo, what do people find are their challenges at this time?

He has that inquisitive terrier face. "Wassup?" :D
-
BTW debs your little dog is delightful. Westie?

I don't know what it is yet, as I have some more broad ranging health stuff to deal with. I suppose it just works in there with the rest of it. So I'd be interested to find out what is menopause and what might be other things.

I didn't tell my husband "as such" but I did ask him to stop bringing home chocolates etc. Not just for me but for the kids too, doesn't do them good to have all that around. The main reason he knew was that my son and I have both been working together to get more healthy - he podged up a bit while he was ill and he…

Peri-menopausal. That's me!

I don't find that kind of extreme "sexy" in either men OR women. But fit and strong and healthy ... that's different. (Although I'm a woman I can appreciate either gender.)

Go as Magenta - there is a range of outfits for Magenta. Show your 'girls' and legs and you could wear a short jacket as suggested.
-
Good work! And lots more styles will look good, too. :D

Being consistent and throwing off your body can be a good thing ... have a read of the Zig Zag thread. I've just started doing the zig zag because I went onto a little plateau.

I agree ... wait until the dog is matured. How much jogging after mature would depend on the breed of dog and how athletic it is. E.g. one of my Vizslas, no problems ... a Pekingese or other non-athletic dog ... not so much.

Well I'm a long way from being an expert, but something you might want to do is to change your food settings to track sodium. It's possible that you are having more than you realise (from looking at what you are eating) and if this is so, cutting it down is going to help. Many people have noted that high sodium levels in…

Hi and welcome. If you set your diary to public, that will enable people to see what you have been doing and make suggestions. Thanks!
-
I had mine set to friends only - I've only been here a month - but have actually just set it to public. I keep things as private as possible on places like Facebook and it took me a while to feel comfortable about opening it here.

I'm in Sydney, too. I figured there must be lots of Aussies because so much of the Australian food is already on the database!
-
I log everything because: 1. It adds up 2. I think, "Is eating that worth the effort of going and logging it in?" If I really want it, yes. If I'm only looking at it because it's there and eating is a habit, then I won't eat it.

That is brilliant and even better, a positive comment by someone whose opinion you really care about. :D

I've also seen things like a stationary bicycle only you do it with your arms. Probably easier to do it with weights though. ;)
-
Definitely. The front is not so clear as you are leaning forwards and behind your arm and a basket in the first one, but the back looks much flatter in the second one without the back fat padding it out.
-
I listen to Doctor Who audio plays and while I exercise is the only time I do it. So I look forward to it every day.
-
Definitely on the right track! :D You look great and I bet you feel great too.

I hop on every morning first thing (after loo) and it's interesting to see fluctuation and note what's happening at the time. Overall trend is what's important. I don't stress over scales.

I've just changed from one to half, today. I've lost 5kg/11lb in the month or so since I started and had decided I'd make a change at 5kg lost for a while to give my body a change, then back to 1lb a week, then at 10kg lost I will have under 10kg to go, so will change it back to half for the rest of the way. I was…

I always eat them back. I started this on August 9 and so far I've lost 5kg/11lb and I have it set on a pound a week. I exercise moderately: about 140-150 calories worth a day. Something is working for me.
-
Very much agree with this. Although mine is quite a young girl (also have oldies). But ... losing weight will give me better balance as well, instead of being top-heavy. Be better on my horse. And be much healthier for me overall. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of myself and not cringing. Especially on my horse -…

I have one not just for this but for pretty well everything. It's this: "If I improve by 1% every day, in 100 days I'll have improved by 100%." And a short reminder: "Working on the 1%." It tells me that I don't have to make all the changes all at once. Lots of small changes, over time, add up to a big change.
