  • I broke my foot in February and just got out of my boot a couple weeks ago. My trainer put a picture of me on the erg rowing with one leg on the website. Hilarious!

  • Another great way to use an erg is put on your ipod and do a 10K row. Don't worry about how fast you go, just worry about maintaining your pace. I try to stay between 1:50 and 2:00 500m when I do a 10K. You'll be on your *kitten* at the end of it but it feels great!

  • Using a rowing machine (or erg) is called erging and it is GREAT exercise. You absolutely do not have to worry about bulking up on it and you will be surprised to learn that, if done correctly, this exercise is basically entirely legs and core. Your arms do very little of the work. Just make sure you have someone to teach…
