Doing anything special or just staying within your calorie goal?

I need help staying motivated too! Feel free to add me.

I'm also hypothyroid (taking 100 mcg levothyroxine) and have arthritis and disc issues in my back. I found that watching the carbs helps the weight come off a little easier. And for me exercise is critical. Without it I don't lose. Which is difficult because of the low energy level and arthritis issues. I am trying hard to…

The starkist creations are in single serve 100 calorie pouches. There are a few flavors, herb & garlic, ranch, lemon peopper, and I think a spicy one. I stick to the herb & garlic. I like it just plain with baby carrots on the side too. Here's the link for more info. http://starkist.com/products/pouches#anchor-28

When I was cutting my carbs I started mixing the Starkist garlic & herb tuna creations packet with small broccoli florets and I'd nuke it for a few minutes. Makes an awesome lunch. I've also mixed the tuna pouch in with a little brown rice and nuked it for a quick and easy lunch or dinner.

Hi Everyone! I just stumbled across this thread doing a search to see if anyone on MFP was doing Ultimate Yogi and how it was working. I just got the set and am anxious to start it. I signed up with the Facebook group that is supposed to start the set on Jan 8th (1/08) but I am thinking I may cheat a little and…

I'm with you litehand - I just bought the Ultimate Yogi set and it defintely is way more than 200 calories an hour. The "Map My Walk" app has Power Yoga in their database and for me it estimates 613 calories for one hour. (I weigh 150) That is a free app and it will sync into MFP if you want to go that route. But I agree -…

Thanks for all the feedback! I do think that if I cut back on my carbs some it will help as I always get the message from MFP that I've gone over my carb and sugar goals, and I never get enough protein so I definitely need to balance that out some even if I don't go totally 'low carb.' The .07 was when I put in my stats…

Definitely right, Mischievous! I'm tired of doing this lose/gain thing over and over. And I don't much want to give up my carbs. :) I just have to keep long term in mind. If I can see good results early on it keeps me motivated.

Thanks, KBurkhardt08 - that is encouraging. yarwell - Thanks for your feedback too! Wow - 2200 a day... I think it said my typical amount I use without exercise is around 1700-1800. I was going to start the Ultimate Yogi series of DVD's but maybe I will opt for the elliptical instead. It shows a bigger calorie burn…

Thanks. I don't really want to go below 1200 calories - but I was hoping I could lose a little faster than that given my past experience with low carb. Maybe that is the route to go again.
-
Congratulations! I was motivated to see that you lost and average of 10 lbs a month - MFP just told me I'd lose 3 pounds between now and February - which did not make me happy.

Those that like omelets check out the south beach veggie quiche cups to go recipe. I make those and freeze them and they are great. I use Southwest flavor egg beaters, green pepper, onion and fresh baby spinach and some mexican cheese and bake it in muffin tins.

I like to mix up one of the Starkist tuna creations tuna pouches (I like garlic & herb) with some broccoli florets or asparagus and nuke it for a few minutes (I just use the "reheat" selection on my microwave.) It's super yummy!! If you use the low carb wraps those are great filled with turkey, cheese and veggies.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already or not but the vegetarian crumbles, like Boca or Morningstar farm can be substituted in your spaghetti or lasagna or pretty much any meal you would use ground beef in and not be totally obvious. Also, since you mentioned you are doing it to save some money rather than necessarily…

I like to join!! I walked 31 min/2.0 miles on my lunch break today. A couple of the girls and I are committed to trying to do that most days during the week. I have an elliptical and a treadmill at home as well as the Walk at Home DVDs, so there will be no excuse for me not to do it regardless of the weather! This…

My goal is to lose 5 pounds by the end of September, ideally by the 27th when I turn 52. I am committing to getting moving more exercise more consistently. Walking a half hour on my lunch break, walking or using my elliptical at home or some of my DVDs. I'm even thinking about taking a Jazzercise class twice a week. Let's…

Congratulations!!! Totally the inspiration I needed today!!! Great job!!

I was happy to see this post! Love all the feedback. I always struggle with "what diet should I do" - what is the "right" diet - and fluctuate between ww and other plans. (Consequently my diet always starts "tomorrow"! :embarassed: ) Like some others have said, I've re-joined ww more times than I can count. I have lost…

I'm in! I'm kinda new here and not sure how the group thing works. Do I need to look someplace else for future posts? I'd like to lose about 10 pounds. I like the idea of fitting into an old favorite pair of jeans by Thanksgiving Day!!
