Keep posting!! The last time my height was measured they said I was 5'1-3/4" but I usually say I'm 5'2" since they were pressing down pretty hard on my head when they measured me LOL I love seeing results for shorter girls... it's motivating and helpful to see what weight looks like on people our height.

String cheese sticks Nuts Peanut butter and fruit or veges

I've noticed if I have something very small about a half hour before I exercise (like a clementine or a string cheese stick), it's gives me energy and I have a better workout. I've always read that you need to eat after to replenesh electrolytes and help muscles recover, but I have to wait at least a half hour to an hour…

Wow you look incredible!!! Way to go!!

I make sure I drink more water before and while I'm eating and that fills me up. I also have to make sure I eat slower... when I'm starved, I can definitely eat more because I eat a lot faster, and it's amazing if I force myself to slow down while I'm eating (by talking, drinking water, or just making myself take bites a…

Wow! Way to go!! Such an inspiration.

Agreed!! Start with small exercises and don't feel down about having a slow weight loss. Stress makes it harder to lose weight, but exercise will help tremendously with that stress! Go for a 15 minute walk or do a 10-minute workout when you start your homework, or when you're stumped on a homework problem. It will clear…

Agreed!! The motivational and support aspect of MFP is what is making the difference for me. It helps me think about what I'm eating and logging. :-D

all really great tips!! Fruit definitely helps me - sometimes it can be so sweet it almost tastes like candy. Another thing I do: if you absolutely have to have something, allow yourself a very small portion, and buy things that are very small, like 1-2 Hershey's kisses, or a square of chocolate. If I'm really craving…

Awesome!!!

For increased protein, try Greek yogurt (Fage and Dannon both make some good stuff!), string cheese, hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter, tuna, salmon, rotisserie chicken (no idea how to spell that! LOL), nuts like almonds... and if you pair it with veges and/or fruit that will give you energy. Fruit gives me the energy I need…

Coffee and some sodas really bother my stomach, so I make sure to only have 1-2 cups of coffee per week (I love it, and I've found that's a good amount for me to have and not bother my stomach or my sleep), but I've found that I can have a cup of tea every day. There's some caffeine in there, but it doesn't seem to be as…

Sometimes when I work out, I can feel really tired for a few days (or a week!!)... my muscles are sore, and I feel like I could sleep for hours. I saw on your exercise diary that you walked for 120 minutes a couple days ago! GREAT work!!! But no wonder you're tired... that would wipe me out! It sounds like you're doing…

WOW great job!! 15 minutes on the elliptical is HARD!!! That's amazing that you can do 60 minutes now! Kudos!!!

For a dedicated workout (whether it's going to the gym, popping in the exercise DVD in the living room, or walking around the neighborhood), workout clothes help put me in the right mindset, are more comfortable, and they stretch!! But, I do some minor exercising during the day at work (basically just walking around…

Wow - I LOVE this!!!! That's an AWEOME way to look at half a pound!!! And I agree with everyone else... as long as you're losing and you're happy with how you're doing, then that's the whole point. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you go, and it doesn't matter how fast or slow anyone else is going either!! :-D Good work!!

Good info

Great quotes - thanks for sharing

Yes that's happened to me before! I've even spotted a tiny amount when I've worked out too hard (that really creeped me out!!). But you might still want to get a pregnancy test to be sure.

Thanks - this is great information and very helpful. I would not have thought of any of that. The strength training I am doing right now mainly consists of calesthenics, rather than lifting weights, but it sounds like Ia weight training program would be very beneficial as well. I will keep nutrition, rest, and increased…

WOW everyone! Great news!! Hope people keep posting to this one... love the uplifting stories!

I've always worked out after work (around 5:30 pm) but am starting to think that I should take advantage of the gyms we have onsite where I work and workout during the day. I tired it yesterday around 2:00 pm (counted as my lunch hour) and it was great to get it done during the day and get away from the desk! The only…

LOVE this topic!!! Thanks for starting it. True happiness for me: I got engaged a week ago!!! I'm 36 and have waited a LONG time to find "the one." :-D My life was very much of a Bridget Jones Diary, so I cannot even describe how happy and blessed I feel. I am getting in shape to 1) prevent back and sciatic nerve pain by…

Fruits are healthy - lots of antioxidants!!! Definitely don't stop eating them!!!! They are a source of sugar, but just have some protein every time you have a piece of fruit... the protein helps your body counteract the sugar. For example, eat some peanut butter with your apples or bananas, cream cheese, yogurt, nuts,…
