I think you did the right thing. Even if she was fine with those lyrics for her own child, other parents may not be. I am 43 years old and I am turned off by some of todays unedited lyrics. Those songs are just fine and just as fun without the explicit language. I really would not want my 12 year old hearing such.

I don't think it is sad at all. #1, you are setting a good example for your daughter, #2, you are spending time with your daughter and she probably enjoys it and it helps to keep you motivated, & #3 she is getting to burn off some energy rather than bouncing off the walls.

Have you tried taking melatonin? It is a chemical found in your body. My 11 year old has had a sleeping disorder for years. His neurologist suggested it. Also, try eating a very high protein meal or evening snack. That will help you stay full.
