I pick my doctors very carefully. I first try to get referrals from friends who really loves their doctor. If I can't do it that way, then I go to the Castle-Connelly's Top Doctors resources and look up doctors close enough to me. I will travel outside of my neighborhood for a great doctor. Once I select one or more names,…

I don't know very many people who consistently take 2-3 hours to fall asleep and then easily sleep for so many hours without refreshment who DO NOT have kind of medical issue. This is NOT the definition of laziness and her initial post DID sound like a cry for help out of frustration! I didn't see your age, but I thing…

I've posted this a number of times, but as long as the question is still out there, I'll keep repeating it. As a weight loss surgery patient (lapband), my doctor requires that all of us immediately begin different eating habits from the time of our first appointment because we have to prove we can follow it by losing a…

When I have gone to a fitness center, I see LOTS and LOTS of overweight people! There was one woman who was probably 350 pounds and about 5'7" on the treadmill and she was JOGGING and SWEATING and doing a fantastic job. She was on there forever and I was totally impressed with her. The classes were a combination of every…

B-12 gives you energy, but doesn't suppress your appetite. BUT, with that said, I would be unfair if I said that I knew anything about Bariatric Centers.

1. I was afraid of *****willows when I was a kid. I would scream and run away from them. (they won't let me type p-u-s-s-y-willows) 2. I've always been obsessed with other womens' boobs because mine were always droopy like an udder, even as a teen. 3. I cannot STAND people mispronoucing, misspelling, making grammatical…

It is always harder for people who want to lose smaller amounts of weight to get them off because you lose it very small amounts at a time and your body weight can fluctuate several pounds a day, especially at your age. Make sure that your target weight is a healthy weight for you. I ONLY say this because I often see young…

I never had t hyroid issues, but wanted to say how great it is that you are not allowing your limitations keep you from your goals! It IS hard to go slowly, but hopefully understanding and support will help you keep on track!!! I wish you the VERY best and will be rooting for you!

Back in the 80s, when we all had headbands, leotards and leg warmers, I was in a VERY crowded aerobics class and I got shoved near the Coke machine. We were doing those things where you put one leg behind you and reach back to touch it with the opposite hand and then reverse and the pace was pretty fast. But, I got my foot…

She said she was going to the gym...claim Adverse Possession, it will work, I'm telling you!

I know what you mean, BUT, it just goes to show that your friends love you for who you are and not what you look like and that's a GREAT thing!

Oh, crap, now I am going to start to snort and choke.

Thanks.....I can't stop laughing!

I was waiting for PatientBear to show up and start things up

I put the fish in individual aluminum packets and use salt, pepper, Old Bay if you like it, lemon juice a 1/2-1 tsp of whatever margarine or butter that you use, then I slice onions, tomato and green pepper and cover the fish with it. I wrap the fish nice and tightly in the aluminum and grill or bake it. With the…

That is the GREATEST NEWS!!!! Congratulations, you're an inspiration to us all who would love to visit you there and STAY!

You know you want the weight off. So, you have a choice. You can take it hour by hour, day by day and do the best you can with each and every choice you make. If you make a healthy choice, you're one step toward getting the weight off, if you make an unhealthy choice, you don't advance. The difference is, if you don't keep…

I would agree with the fiber thing. Do the salads and veggies and I bet you'll be feeling better VERY soon!

I still have my boobs after losing 47 pounds, but they are down at my waist and my actual chest is flat. LOL. Good bras are essential. But, one thing, since I had a lapband, my insurance company WILL pay for surgery if I decide to do it after losing my weight and maintaining it for 18 months. I just don't know if I want to…

Personally, I would cut my carbs to 100g per day and I can't see your protein, but I would aim for 80 g per day and try to keep the sugar under 80. See if that jump starts you. It should work better with your work outs to burn fat. But, I agree with seeing a doctor. Have him check your blood for nutrient levels.

Mine is in my junk room behind a stack of boxes that I have to move in order to get to the scale, then I have to pick up the scale and carry it somewhere to use it. I'm usually too rushed or lazy to go through all of that more than once a week, especially when I know I am not supposed to weight any more frequently.

Oh, boy....do I know about this. As was said...watch sugar, carbs, caffeine, exercise after dinner if you have trouble sleeping at midnight. Turn off the TV, radio and reaim any blue, red or white lights from electronic devices. Use your bed only for what it is intended. Do not watch TV there, do not use it as an office or…

Oh yeah......don't go over 30 grams because you can only absorb so much protein at once.

It's really better to be on a 1500/cal per day diet. 1200 is just tempting your body to start saving calories and causing you to yo-yo. Why don't you try it at 1500 and see how you do?
-
If you are looking for a 100% whey protein shake, why don't you search the internet and contact the companies and find out if they will send you samples? Many of the bariatric surgery patients in my support group have done it and they find it helpful in choosing the company and flavors they like best. Lots of us like…

My nutritionists say that Crystal Light is much better for you than diet soda or brewed tea. We actually dilute it by 25% and I'm getting used to the slightly weaker taste. BUT, I am going to look into this "Pure" variety....never heard of it.

Can you eat lean protein? I can have chicken, chops, steak, turkey......almost any meat. No corned beef though. I find 93% lean hamburger and make a nice meatloaf and it is heavenly. I have tried using cauliflower as mashed potato....I HATE HATE HATE cauliflower, but can almost eat them that way. LOL. There are so many…

Congratulations on such a transformation! I have a small part of me that is afraid to lose the weight because I am so used to being a "fat *kitten*" and I have used my size and eating habits to make people laugh for so long that I am not sure who I will be when I am not fat anymore. I honestly, truly enjoy making people…

Sounds kind of dumb, but, why not schedule another trip to the nutritionist? I go on a regular basis and have to take my food diary with me. She does not accentuate the negative, but sometimes does calculations to show me how some of my bigger non-compliant decisions cost me lost pounds. In addition, I can go over certain…

Personally, I am always afraid I'll wet the bed because as soon as I get really comfortable, I have to go and I don't want to move. I know one night it's gonna happen!!!!
