Forgot to mention in my earlier post: The little boy in the picture is also beautiful...so THERE!

WHAT?! You are not, repeat, NOT a "Butterface". YOU...ARE...BEAUTIFUL!

So TRUE! I LIKE!

I used to hear that all the time, but for me it's even worse when they say something like, "WOW! You must have been really hot ("good-looking", "pretty", etc.) when you were young!" (or "younger"). NICE! I *HATE* both of those! I also sometimes get the "stroke/slap" compliments (especially from family) that I call…

I recommend changing doctors. NO amount of added physical activity is "worthless". We all have to start somewhere, and this gives you something to build on! Go, YOU! Cheers for the New Year! (carole)

This sounds GREAT! I am 53 years old, 5'4" and weigh 166. I am currently wearing size 8/10, but I still have at least 20 lbs. to lose, according to WW guidelines, BMI and so on. My all-time high was 217 on Leap Year in 2008. I have maintained in the 160s for almost three years now, but I want to continue until I am about…

To whomever thinks cardio does not help one lose weight, I woud suggest they eat a "normal" (though reasonably controlled and nutritious) diet, drink 6-8 glasses of water per day, and take something like Zumba 1 hour classes, three times per week for two months; then report back how much weight you lost. For me, pounds and…

Another pound down! So far, I've lost six pounds in three weeks -- YEAH! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Welcome! Your "pen name" says it ALL! (Me, TOO!)

LIKED it! (I'm from Boston and that's how we'd say it...) Like we'd say: "Mooah powah TO ya!" P.S. Your cousin in law just made herself look silly. Quite frankly, I was embarassed for her (pretty sure it was a "her", duh! But if I'm wrong -- oops!) As for you, I think you accepted the compliment graciously. Enjoy…

I'm with you both! Please feel free to add me and write anytime. I will always reply. I was on a backslide but now I am back on track. We can DO this! Cheers from carole in Boston, xO

I'm still here and will keep this going as long as I can. I really do want to achieve this goal. I've had some temporary setbacks (Two surgeries and another coming up with hospitalization), but I am still watching my nutrition and monitoring my intake. Cheers to all!

You look AWESOME, by the way! Congratulations!

If they say, "How many times have you done this? You know you're just going to put it all back on again, just like last time and the time before" (yes, this has happened, and people have said things like this) , I just say something like, "Yeah, you're probably right. We'll see...", or "You're only defeated when you stop…

Speaking only from my personal experience, I'd say at least half of the regain is due to water (bloating from excess sodium, etc.) If you get right back on track and throw in a few extra workouts, I'd bet that weight can be totally GONE in 1-2 weeks! Best wishes!

I also lost over Thanksgiving week. My scale said 163.2 but I recorded it as 165.0 (I like to have a little leeway built in for the occasional bloat fluctuations and so on). I am now back at my 50 lbs. lost mark from highest recorded weight (overall), and down 5.0 lbs. from my official restart date of 11-11-11. My food…

Friday after Thanksgiving Weight Report: Carole: 165.0 (Down 5.0 since 11-11-11) This week's loss: 1 lb. (reported). (Down 50 lbs. from highest recorded weight of 215 lbs.)

HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

It's not up to them -- it's up to you to decide when you're thin enough. (Just proves there's interference on both sides of the fence!)

I used to be quite rude when I was younger (and much less "mellow"); they'd be on me like, "I knew you couldn't stick to it. Why suffer and waste your time?" Or, "You know you're just going to gain it all back anyway, just like last time and the time before!", or even, "Are you sure that's on your plan"? or whatever. And I…

Welcome!

Welcome, Bev! I turned 53 this year in August. I used to weigh 217 lbs. (2/29/08) and got all the way down to the 150's within one year; then I slowly crept up to the 170's by October of this year; so I had to jump in again and GET TOUGH! I'm about 165 right now and want to get down to 10 stones/140 lbs. (or less) by…

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and success, John!

This is fine, especially if it is one of your first weeks, depending upon how much you need to lose. I need to lose about 30 and lost four pounds my first week. I realize this is mostly water loss and that I should not expect it to continue. Relax and savor your victory! I feel like I might have a little leeway for the…
