  • Crazy Train... it has the perfect rhythm and tempo for stationary bike
  • I'm in Mechanicsburg. I've been using MFP off and on for several years. On-plan at the moment and feeling inspired! I don't post on message boards a lot but could use some friends on my wall.
  • Pennsylvania SRD was May 30-June 1, and 17 people from my chapter were able to attend. My partner and I left feeling renewed and motivated (which has been severely lacking recently!); went home and laid our or new, improved menu for the week. Weigh-in is Thursday!

  • Hi - I've lost about 110 lbs in the past two years. Slow and steady, but it can be done. Sometimes it seems slower than others! I still have another 100 to go.
  • On one hand, it's hard for me to imaging struggling to eat enough. I am definitely prone to overeating. I can't see your food diary but I am going to guess that you have either switched to all ultra-low calorie foods or else you're skipping meals. Also, from the amount of weight you hope to lose, I am guessing your current…
  • Oh, I have a Herbalife story! When my father had a heart attack, his preacher & wife came to the hospital and tried to sell Herbalife to my mother & me while we were in the waiting room of the Cardiac ICU. I have no idea what it's claims are nor if it works... After that little stunt, I would never give them a cent.
  • Well not quite 50+ yet, but almost 44... does that count?? Logan's run people haven't caught me yet either. Maybe that's at 45, instead of 40....
  • Ok, a challenge sounds interesting. What are the terms of the challenge???
  • I have lost 97 pounds so far (66 on MFP) and have at least another 80 to go. I've been on MFP almost a year and I think I have logged on every single day!
  • *waves* Here! Don't comment here often, but always available to accept new friends! :flowerforyou:
  • I joined the gym at 310 pounds, after losing 92 via mostly diet alone. Nobody at the gym has ever been unpleasant to me. I don't subscribe to the trainer service as it's an expense I simply cannot work into my budget right not -- but one of the trainers keeps a pretty close eye on me on those (relatively rare) occasions…
  • I'm the new treasurer of PA-0908, and attended my first SRD this year. We had a great time and it was very inspirational !
  • PA-0908, Mechanicsburg, PA (Near Harrisburg). I have lost 65# since joining TOPS in August. The past few weeks have been rough. Flirting with a plateau,..I think it is a reaction to joining a gym and establishing a pretty regular cario routine (elliptical and recumbent bike right now). Psychologically, I think it's because…
  • This is the perfect answer. . . especially if it's a recipe you intend to make more than once. Even my own recipes, which tend to change slightly every time I make them, get done via this method. It's much easier to update an existing recipe than it is to create a new one!
  • Hmmm, do you mean on MFP or in your own head? On MFP, and at TOPS (The weight-loss support group I attend weekly in real life) my stated goal is actually 195 pounds below my starting weight of January 2011. But in my mind, I have a lot of milestones to work toward along the way. The first 10, 20, 25, 30 pounds were huge.…
  • You took the words right out of my mouth . . . except the part about throwing away the dishes, I am too cheap for that. And the Greek Yogurt part, I use vanilla non-fat yogurt and 53g Kashi. I'll open the box of Kashi, weigh it out into single-servings, and be ready for the next six or seven days.
  • I finally learned how to abstain when I am not hungry. That being said, if I am actually HUNGRY between meals, I will snack. Usually a between-meals snack is carbs. If at work, I can get from the vending machine: goldfish crackers (but be careful with portion sizes; a vending machine bag is actually two servings) or…
  • Also, are you aware that there is a community for people attempting to lose 100# or more? It isn't extremely active but there is some activity and we sure could use more people who are willing to speak up and help keep the conversations going!
  • oh yes there are some of us out there, hang in there! I have lost 70# since January 3, 2011, and I have 124 to go.
  • A new wedding ring -- my original one is now two full sizes too big!

  • wow . . . WOW ! ! ! That's amazing. No matter what your goal was, congratulations are in order!
  • Maybe, but #1 was just so . . . wow!
  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry that MFP edited the name D ! C K E N S.
  • Yep: Group name is LGBT+ see ya there
  • When I saw this post, It really caused me to stop and think. I really haven't set a final goal. I have SOOOOOO much weight to lose, and I am kind of struggling through this thing one day at a time. This year has been really good: to my amusement, my partner keeps referring to this as my "year of improved health." Still,…
  • I curse. That might not be a vice, strictly speaking, but I work in a professional environment AND I am a deacon of my church. So, I try to keep it to a minimum, and usually do a pretty good job until I get excited or angry. That and anything Pepperoni.
  • Have been waiting for the the dust to settle a bit in the new groups. But I accept the challenge and posted a new thread. I should get extra points for difficulty since I am out tonight and posting from my phone! :P
  • Keep your eye on the big picture!! It's true, if you overeat you may gain weight, that's the natural consequence. But it's important to not allow one holiday to cause your whole plan to come undone. If you gain it this week you can still lose it next week -- but only if you DON'T LOSE FOCUS. So hang in there! :flowerforyou:
  • It's typical to have a really big loss the first week. A change in eating patterns gets a big response from your body at first and then your body will adjust a bit to something more steady. That can be a mixed blessing -- on one hand that first week's loss can give you a lot of enthusiasm but brace yourself -- losing a…
