Great job, can't wait to read your quote tomorrow

You looked so beautiful before but even more so now! Congrats and keep up the good work :flowerforyou:

OP, you are an amazingly beautiful, intelligent, and self-aware woman. My props to you for realizing that your life needed to change, taking those steps, and not letting your ex derail you. :flowerforyou: Also, I applaud your character for getting rid of "220 lbs of unsightly weight" (or however much that pile o' crap…

This sounds exactly like me with a highest of 178....Except I have no kids so I can't blame it on anything but me :grumble: And congrats OP, you look amazing! I've recently restarted running and I have an 8k in 2 weeks. Yikes, it's really that soon! I hope to be at your level sometime and do a half marathon too.

How did you know?! And Fireball whiskey

Bump. To save all these great links for after work!

^^This is great advice. I also work in an office and sit in front of my computer screen all day  I highly advocate getting up and stretching, moving, just generally making your brain and body wake up. I don't know your work environment but I recently found this video/routine for a 15 minute office workout…

AGREED! I travel for work on a somewhat regular basis and I get the "I don't want to run into my coworkers all sweaty and red-faced" mentality with working out at the hotel gym. I did use it as an excuse but now I realize my health is worth more (or I can workout in my room). Also, my meals are often paid for when I travel…

Congratulations on taking the first steps to a more healthy and happy you Jen! You can do this and we're all here for support. Sending a friend request...and anyone else can friend too!

Bump. To save all the delicious ideas!

^^This. I did MFP in the past doing 1200 calories and had a disappointing experience. It was just too little food, especially with exercising regularly. I was tired, hungry, cranky and it just wasn't sustainable. Hence stopping and gaining more than all the weight I had just lost. Now, I'm much happier with a higher…

I know you want to do this with your partner for the awesome reasons you mentioned above, but have you considered finding a different buddy that's more accountable or more motivational? I know that sounds harsh but you're setting yourself up to fail if you get your motivation from someone who is less dedicated, less…

Wow, your wife is awesome! :drinker: Props to you both on your journeys and setting a great example for your kids.

This is a great community for support and encouragement. The stories on the "Success Stories" forum are amazing. I log my food and activity daily so feel free to add!

This is what it's all about. And being there for your kids later in life. Congrats at "getting it" for yourself! Edited for horrible grammar.

Amazing. In the process of sending this to several people

Bump. For the recipes, discussion, and amusement purposes!

Yes! Doing this has let me feel much better about becoming healthy and active this time. I track daily and I track even on special occasions where I know I'm going to go over my daily limit (definitely like tonight)...But I don't feel bad about it and seeing that red number for today will push me to be extra good in my…

SW: 178 CW: 168.8 MW: 145 GW: 135 If I get down to 135 and am not happy, I may shoot for a little lower but personally it's once I'm at that point, its not all about the number. I want to be toned and strong and that number may happen at 125, may happen higher than that. Who knows....!

^^This. And people who stand, just stand in the way, on the left side of escalators/moving walkways. Drives me bonkers.

Love it! Hopefully I'll be at that point too. Feel free to add for support!

I like sweet potato biscuits as a brunch thing, they're quite delicious. However....having been raised in a southern state...There is no real substitute for homemade scratch biscuits and gravy. Just do it! Make 'em smaller than normal and try to eat slower but plan on getting your workout in!

This. Especially the second one.

This is really good advice to get you started. Also, since you plan to do the elliptical 5x a week, try it right after you wake up. I know it's hard to get up earlier and get out of that comfy bed but then: 1) you can't make any excuses 2) no life events can pop up and prevent you from working out 3) you start your morning…

I log daily and workout 3-5 a week depending on my schedule. Feel free to add me and I'm happy to help try and keep you motivated :-)

26 and in VA! Been here quite some time (<See) but only really started a month ago. I'm up for this!

When you say you can't eat these foods, do you mean you have legitimate food allergies or you don't like the taste of them? Can you specify which fruits and veggies you cant/won't eat so we can give better suggestions?

This sounds amazing. How long do you cook it for?
