  • @Sweetthimgs I am the same, APPLE, no butt, but that Muffin Top !!! I think it will be the last to go, and maybe not ever as I am over 50. Seems worse that usual at this age, but hoping if I hit my goal of another 40 that it will be smaller than my hips. I lieterally have no waist and fitting into cloths difficult because…
  • I like to work out before work, hence 5am, and it's dark outside. Plus I live in Texas, and even then it's 80+, in the evenings I do go outside for a walk, but at 95+ and this time of year usually 100+ it's damn hot!!
  • 1200 - 1400 for me and I get plently to eat, it would be a challenge at 1700+ unless I was eating much higher cal content foods I guess. I need to be around 1400 but right now I struggle to get that much, but I still need to loose 40 lbs so I go up and down one day 1100 one day 1400, etc... zig zag. On occasion even to…
  • I agree with antoher poster: Unless it's really bad ill push myself to do it ...... and yes ladies at 54 I still have it come around and surprise me from time to time...
  • Let's just say let my house get a bit out of control. I spent 3 hrs, vacuming all rooms, moping a large tile area, and washing all baseboards, my house is about 2100 sq feet. This was Sunday. Yesterday the back of my thighs were killing me, but still went to the gym and worked out with my trainer, and did 60 mins cardio,…
  • I have had my FitBit for about 8-9 mths now, and I love it. I certainly has shown me how I have become more fit, after a 50 lbs loss I do not burn nearly as much calories in a 50 min fast fast walk as I once did, sadly. But it keeps me movitivated to get that 5 miles in each day which is the goal.

  • YES! I started dligently on 26th Sept 2011 so it been months and months now and I still hate it. But I know I have to do this otherwise I will likely not be able to walk when I am 70 (should I live so long!). With OA you have to keep moving, so I have a FitBit and I have my daily goals and usualy make them now, 6 days a…
  • I do Cardio, treadmill, outside walking, or biking 6 days a week. When I walk it's for 45 mins to 60 mins. I work out with weights 2 times a week right now, and while I do go to the gym. I travel so I use resisitance bands for many of the exercises I do with weights as well. I take one day off typically.
  • They never get easier if it's early, but I suppose that depends upon each person's defenition of early. I get up at either 4am or 5am depending upon my schedule for work, to exercise, because I know if I wait to the end of the day it's likely not gonna happend. 5am I have no real issue with but 4am is a killer, but I still…
  • Ftiness 19 $10 per month, there is yearly maint fee of $20, and a join fee of $50 ininitally. I prefer the personal attendion at the smaller Gym, I was with 24hr Fitness but accidently forgot to renew membership and to rejoin it was very high, and the reviews of the one close to me were horrible, thus Fitness 19 is 15 mins…
  • I los 45 lbs from Oct to Feb, 4.5 mths just walking and staying on a 1200 cal eating program. I worked up to walking 6 days a week for 50 mins or 3 miles, and often 60 mins. On my off day, the 7th day, I usually ride my bike for 30 mins, but I try to move somehow daily.
  • I am 5'9' and it really depends upon the stride on particular days, in most cases 10,000 is slightly over 5 miles for me, I usually have to get about 11000 to hit 5 miles, but then again as noted it depends on the stride some days I stride longer than others depending upon how my legs and feet feel, etc...
  • I am 5'9" and my target weight is 185, starting was 380, I am currently around 228. I think you really have to determine you own range, as I noted some saying they were 5"10" and at 156 etc.. I could never be that, I would be skin and bones, I have a large frame and even now I am in 16/18's, just dropping to 200 will have…
  • Welcome and best of luck. I am on the last 2 days of my 16th Week of conistant use of the site. I did start in early Sept for two weeks and just logged my food to get in the hang of the process. Then buckeled down and started 16 wks ago. It takes time commitments and the same to taking the time to plan meals and take…
  • I get up at 4:45am everyday, I walk on my treadmill for 45-60 mins. While at the office I park far away from the door, and at lunch I walk around the building and walk up the 3 flights of stairs a few times. Before I had a treadmill I walked out side, but more like 5am.
  • Personally I do not enjoy seeing anyone in a Biniki that is for example size 24 and up with hanging rolls and handing 'girls'. But you see this often in other countries. Equally not too nice to see a guy in a speedo that has everything hanging around either. I have seem some real awful sights in my travels, and I…
  • 1. Night Sweats / Hot flashes 2. Insomina 3. Weight Gain, and this especailly in the waist area, results a huge muffin top! 4. Now suffer from CRS (Cannot remember *kitten*)
  • I started having night sweats in 2003 when I was 44, but my periods were not irregular until about 2007. I am now 53 and still having a period from time to time, and hot flashes. I can only hope it ends soon, this makes my 9th year of peri-menopause.
  • This is my favorite type of tood and I can assure you it is much more healthy that most! Once while living in a hotel for a few weeks in Dubai, I ate this daily, and I kid you not I lost 10 lbs that month and I was not even trying. The fact is that most meats are grills in oiilve oil, and the hummus and other salads are…
  • Best of luck. I understand about injury and have had some issues too. You can find ways to get some exercise in a chair moving your upper body you might google that and find ways to get at least some movement while you heal up.
  • I started MFP at 280 on 9/26/2011 and I am 245 as of today 14 wks later. My highest weight was 380 around 2005, lost down to 225 via gastric bypass, but then weight began to creep up on me in ealry 2011. I am on my way back down, vowing not to let this happen again!! My new goal is 180 and I hope to see that by Dec 2012. I…
  • I started in 2005 at 380, I am 245 today and whilst it has gone down quite a bit, and I did have a tummy tuck to remove excess skin, my recent weight gain of 40lbs just increase the muffin top. I have never had a 'belly' per se, but the middle area just under the breast and above the waist is my issue, and it has never…
  • Tomball, Texas (Houston) USA.... I have lived in Norway, Aberdeen, Germany, Singapore, Mayalsia, Dubai, Ivory coast, Thailand, Ghana, Cyrpress, Phillipines, Greece, so I love most places !!
  • I log housecleaning as exercise. I have tile floors, and I can assure you once I have use the vac, then mopped, I am just as hot and tired as if I had walked for 30 mins, and doing my entire house with the VAC and then mopping, takes me well over 1 hour. For that reason I consider it a mild workout.
  • Dear Next Door Neighbor After months of asking you to do something about your freaking barking dog, which begins her morning barking for 30mins to 2 hrs at 5am, not to mention off an on all day long, I will begin the process to write letters to the HOA today. I totally do not understand dog owners! Most are most…
  • 380 ish... never had a scale that was accurate but this is what I think. (likely was a tad more) I have 65 lbs to go to get to my goal of 180.
  • No it did happen once I began using the orthotics, and yes due to flat feet I am to use them as I was having a lot of foot pain and shin splints. the blister is not 100% healed, but it is not fresh, just seems to keep getting irritated and begins to burn with pain at about the 35 min mark of the brisk walk. thanks for the…
  • I honestly cannot remember too many, I think when your top weight is 380 you eventually just do not pay attention otherwise you will be sad and upset all of the time, I learned to just ignore those type of folks. But I do remember one incident oddly enough. I think at that time I was around 325 lbs or so and I was 5'10"…
  • Happy to say I gained none, I have been losing slow these past 3 wks anyway, so I ate in moderation, and only indulged for 2 days during that time which also helped. I lost .6 last week, and .6 this week, which is much slower than I had been doing, but at least it was not a gain.
  • I have mine still set to 2lbs per week, and to date I have been averaging 2.5 per week, but that was because I needed to get the 40lbs I gainned this past year off as soon as possible. As soon as I meet that goal which is 7.4 lbs to go, then I am planning to set my goal to 1lbs per week for my next goal. Lucky for me this…
