  • Your math looks solid. Try those macros out, and if you find yourself needing/wanting more carbs, I think you'd be safe to drop the fat down to 35% if you desire. But nothing wrong with it being that high either. You could also redistribute some of it to your protein. ETA: I realized that I basically just said "yeah, put…
  • What is your TDEE and your current weight?
  • I use a similar wrap, and it has been amazing. IT band syndrome is freaking painful, and that thing has been magical. My doc told me that stretching the IT band would also be key to getting it to go away.

  • No....that bottle clearly says it's for people who want to gain weight. Jeesh, get it right.
  • I do the majority of my short runs on a treadmill. It is incredibly flat where I live, and I need to add hill work. Treadmills are great for that. I try to always do my long run on pavement though - it's definitely a different kind of running when you're on a road.

  • I'm running 25-30 miles a week right now, training for a half marathon. I'm also running Wendler 5/3/1. It's not as scary as some people make it out to be. Am I going to win marathons and powerlifting meets at the same time? No. But I can have fun with my races, squat 220, and pull 230. Seems to be working just fine. The…

  • Sounds like you're looking for something like Stronglifts 5x5 - http://stronglifts.com/
  • Just try to be somewhat mindful of your portions...get back to counting when you get home, and have fun!
  • This has been floating around Pinterest: I haven't used the black toenail one, but I did adjust my laces for heel slipping and it helped a LOT. Might be something to try.
  • I agree with this. I probably should have stated that clearer. For right now, I lift first. Then I'll go do a few miles. However, Saturdays are my long runs. No way would I ever lift first on that day...I wouldn't make it through 10+ miles. Heck, I don't lift at all the same day as my long run. So it depends on my goals…
  • My running and lifting fall on the same days at least twice a week. I prefer to lift first...I can't really "fail" on running, but I can fail on a lift which really sucks. Tuesday, I PRed my deadlift, and then jumped on the treadmill to run 3 miles of hills. I lived to tell the tale.
  • That sounds miserable....this will be her second and third half, correct? No advice on training, because honestly it doesn't sound like enough time, but I hope she's not planning on racing both of those. Edit to try to be more helpful: Does she currently have a training plan? What plan did she follow the first time? Would…
  • I think we've all done this a time or two to varying degrees. I lost from 235 down to 195 once...and then gained all the way back to 265. It took a few more tries, but I'm finally ready to do it for good, and am down 85 lbs this time with no intent to quit....ever.
  • pfffft my bangs look HOT. OP: I'd say grow them out for now...I think it would open your face up a lot. And if you hate them long, just cut them back off!
  • If I get myself backed into a corner that I can't seem to get out of, he's always the one I message to point me in the right direction, and he's been more than willing to help!
  • I think you misunderstand the program. You don't jump right out of the starting gate with weights you're struggling with. You're supposed to start with an empty bar, and add 5/10 lbs at a time (depending on upper or lower body exercise) in order to learn form. Now, there are some who even the empty bar will be too…
  • Yeah. Until you ignore your body's signals and it decides to break on you. I believe I can fly. It has yet to happen. Maybe it's because I take rest days.
  • I like to wear pencil skirts and structured dresses...I have a lot of luck at JCPenny and Dress Barn.
  • When you go to get fitted, see if they have anything on clearance that would work. Nothing wrong with buying last year's model at a discount instead of this year's that has barely been changed.
  • Agreed that it will be worth it to get fitted and pay the money. I did ONE run in cheap shoes when I first started running and fractured my foot.
  • I was trying to set my goals for 2014. I had been running for about a year at the time, and was halfway through a 10k plan. I have no idea where the thought came from, but I said I want to do a half. It terrified me. I was still over 200 lbs at the time and had knee problems that exacerbate with running. The training was…

  • OMG the "bro-hump of safety"!
  • Coming back to this with another thought. When I did my hilly half, going up the hills was fine - like I said, I just cranked up a treadmill. BUT, coming back down was a real lesson in pain. I bruised my feet pretty badly because I had never run DOWN a hill. So if nothing else, I would think that finding a hill to run down…

  • If you could provide the details of your current eating/exercise routine and open your diary, we could provide answers other than BS. If you're struggling with hunger (or hanger! I get that too...) then you might have too big a deficit.
  • This is true. I took this pill, and experienced extreme sexiness as a side effect. Also, increased energy and weight loss.
