Wow, you are an absolute inspiration. Congratulations on all your success, no doubt you will get those last 20 lbs off in no time! I have been struggling of late with my motivation but when I read real success stories like yours; it helps me get myself moving!

You are practically my MFP twin in stats as well as in age! I am almost to goal but would be happy to offer support if you wanted. Feel free to add me as a friend

Thank you for sharing your struggle. I have also recently put on 7 pounds also because of battles fo stress at work and depression . I had got down to 63 lbs lost with only 8 to go and NOW I am 15 lbs away from goal - all within about 6 weeks. Every day I have been packing my gym back and eating OK through breakfast and…

I will be 40 in July 2013 and my goal is to get in shape by my 39th birthday this year so that I can maintain to 40 and then never look back! 63 down - 9 to go!!!

Soooooooo can relate!

The Caribbean - great on so many ways, except serious shortage of decent fellahs

I can relate to this; hate being the only single person around... not many datable guys in my part of the world and I am not what they are looking for anyway. Blah...

I had exactly the same reaction when I bought it a couple of years ago. I gave the book to a friend who asked to borrow it; I told her to keep and she threw it away when she was moving.. lol!!

This was just beautiful, thank you! Now for the rest of the world to see things this way :drinker:

My friends list is only 12, of which 3 are people I know in real life. I actually had many more, but would drop people who gave the same feedback to everyone, or just did not interact with me at all; of course I get dropped too by some friends; I suppose those are the collectors or they saw no common connection, but that…

I know I blend into a crowd but nothing obvious enough to play along? Geez lol!!
-
You have incredible legs!

I currently pay the equivalent of US$130 per month, but I go to a gym and a spin studio as well.... when I used to have a trainer it was $370 per month. Life in the tropics gets expensive but it's a worthwhile investment for my health!

You are such a motivator for me, so pleased to have you as a friend!! Congratulations on your result, I can see you worked hard for it!

It's the most recent photo I have - was taken the day before I joined MFP in August.

I am with you on this. I try to encourage all my friends and get the same from them, but will not comment if I see a diary chock full of junk food for the day, while under calorie goal; same with diaries that are closed - how can I give sincere kudos if I do not know the reality? Other than that, if someone gets their…

i am still losing and have been at it for a while. I try to cook as many meals from scratch, get my protein but balance carbs and fat, manage my sodium and have a little treat each day so that I never get overwhelmed with cravings (although once in a while they do attack!). Combining this will 45-65 minutes of cardio…

Thanks for sharing, I think I'll try it.
-
Sounds good, I'll try it next week.
-
Yep, I eat 2 fruit and lots of veggies every single day. USUALLY cook most meals from scratch also. You can take a peek at my diary if that would be helpful.
-
OK, so I gotta get my shhhhhhhh together before 40 then! A year and 3/4 to go - ok, that's possible :-)
-
Sigh!!! Thanks for the reminder "Uncle Tob" ;-) I used to workout in my 20's and early 30's pretty ,uch the way I do now and I was in amazing shape. Getting back to that at 38 is proving to be a long road; at least at this age I have become more patient or else I would be screwed!

I have a Univega mountain bike, had if for about 10 years now. No clue what model etc, as I got it as a gift from my Dad who is a serious cyclist and wanted to get me interested in the sport. I take it out once in a while (last week I did!) but am more of a spin chick :-)

Yes, I think this is a sensible thing to do. I plan my breakfast and lunch the night before and usually plan my dinner once I finish working out, whatever time of day that may be. Once my diary is finished for the day and I stick with it. Seeing it in front of me makes me stay on track. The days or nights I have plans to…

I jump on the scale every morning (I can't help it!!), but officially weigh in and record on MFP every Monday morning. I'll be doing monthly measurements, which means this Monday coming... eek!

Well, damn, I have sworn off of bad boys, cause that's all I've ever dated and things have never turned out well. Reading this makes me want to reconsider my idea of trying something new, "nice guys".. I just wonder then, if bad boys and nice guys are no good, then what's left?
-
Sounds good, gonna try it!
-
Ha! Love it!
-
Thanks so much for this article; explains thoroughly and quite logically the science behind your advice to me for increasing my protein ratio. Great stuff!

Spin class is my favourite work out - I do at least 3 per week. Like other responses, I advise you let the instructor know you are a newbie; enjoy the music and the vibe (endorphins will be kicking) and though you will feel lots of pain for a couple days after, that will subside as your body gets used to the seat. I tried…
