I love watching 'Worlds Dumbest...' but when they have an idiot run into something or break something, my body has the natural reaction to reflex which can be dangerous while on the treadmill. This dose a thrill to 'treading the mill', though.

Cardio is the main thing. Make sure you're comfortable running a 5K. Work on push ups, pull-ups, core exercises for the obstacle portion. Good luck and have fun.
