This above for sure. I did it and I keep running. I do wish I would have bought my rather inexpensive heart rate monitor watch with the timer earlier, when I first started. Also, when I got to the weeks with more complicated run/walk scedules I wrote them on athletic tape with a Shapie and put it on my watch, helped me…

Way to go! If there is one thing I wish I would have done during the losing phase it would have been to go thru my closet and put my smaller clothes ( I had kept for all those years) together and tried them on earlier or on a regualr basis! It is so rewarding to have clothes that fit, you you will look like you have lost…

Inspirational! You are now living proof it is so much more than what is on the scale.

I have been maintaining since late August. It is a different way of thinking. I do not log food every day, but I do record everything least a few times a week just to make sure I don't excessive over OR under eat. I do log ALL exercise (that habit I want to keep and hold myself accountable) and I do log in and check on my…

I have been "maintaining" for 2 months, and let me tell you it feels weird after a full year of compulsive logging of everything! I log in everyday to support my pals, I log all exercise (so I don't get lazy) and I weigh myself everyday (but have only recorded it about every 2 weeks). I go back and forth on logging in the…

Yes, at first I put my clothes in the attic, but once I was down more than 4 sizes I decided I would not need them again and donated them to charity! I also have come to realize I need less clothes than I thought. People really did not notice my weight loss until I started wearing better fitting clothes! I did take in a…

We just had our daughter home from college for a week and my parents visiting, so it was lots of eating out and "adult beverages". I was up at one point 4 pounds, but with a return to normal habits for just 2 days I am already back about where I started, I am certain it was just fluctuation and not actual weight gain. I…

I am 5'3" and started at 201 and am now at 132. I gave myself a year, and beat my original goal of 140. I am focused now on fitness and maintenance, and I am going to try and get to a place over the next year where I am not above 130 again, but not an absolute set weight, way to much fluctuation day to day for that! I am…

Walden, so sad, I still cannot get past page 3 without falling asleep.

I have been doing morning exercise recently, and I am starving if I don;t eat more in the morning. So, I eat a Greek yogurt for protein soon after (liek within 45 minutes), a piece of fruit mid morning and usually lunch is a bit early (11:30-12). But by afternoon things are fine, so i think maybe it's actually good to get…

I started with daily, and well now it is just a habit. I tried weekly once I hit goal, but it felt odd to me. My scale is next to the shower, so step on and then step in. I just record my weight about weekly. I do find it makes it easier to accept fluctuations when you see they happen ALL the time. Especially after a night…

Eating veggies, everyday, all kinds of veggies, veggies I never thought I would eat and actually like such as spinach, squash, eggplant, not just an occasional salad, actually cooking veggies, veggies as my main meal. No I am not a vegetarian, but I definitely eat less meat and starches. :flowerforyou:

They have free speech, I have money and I chose to spend it where I want to spend it. Not there, too many other good choices where they support things like houses for sick kids and their families or adoption of older kids.

It is a really big deal, celebrate all along the journey!

OMG just saw Carol Kane on Broadway in Harvey, loved her there too!

Near this too, say 1300 to 1700 and I am 5'3", exercise gets me to that upper end :glasses:

Believe it or not Atlantic city, the beaches there are free you see lots of locals and their are life guards.. You can park at a casino lot which will onyl be like a block or two away (I think Caesars lot, walk the other direction and you are out the outlet mall), and if you join their "members club" type thing which is…

Try and find someone to exercise with (run, a class, walk, anything), it might be more work and planning to meet up but it will be more fun. PS love your profile pic

Good luck! The water retention on Monday, I hear you, I weigh in now on Thursday mornings ;)

I think mini goals are key, and I set mine to dates that were my kids birthdays, holidays etc so they were personal. It took me a while to get on a roll, so be ready to change your goals along the way! Allow for goals that reflect real life (at the holidays it can be harder to lose as much that month). I also realized…

I did this a lot, it is hard for some things like suits but really easy for straight skirts. Just put a pleat on both sides of the front of pants to start, and take in shirts under the arms and down the sides. It is not perfect, but it will allow you to makes things 2-3 sizes smaller. Things with elastic waist you can just…

We have a Shellie too, he loves MFP, he gets a lot more walks to try and herd everything he sees. We had shelties before him, I cannot imagine any other kind of dog!

You look great and really happy, be proud of what you have accomplished.

In the long term I do not want to have to avoid carbs like the plague! There are some very enjoyable foods with carbs, so I go for well balanced. And, when I feel the need or desire for pizza I enjoy ONE piece of mushroom pizza with my salad :), not 3 or 4 pieces of pepperoni pizza. My one friend swears by the meat and…

It is go great you are celebrating all along the way, not just at the end! Each step is a victory!

That is good to know, I am just at the end of week 3, and have been sticking with it even though it seemed a bit short. Everything says don't over train, but I still need to burn calories! I am now better prepared to see that ramp up in 2 weeks!

Nine months to lose 56, with 5 to go. However, it has been lifestyle changes not a diet, so I feel better about the long term prospects. And, I hear losing it a bit slower makes it easier for your skin to "come back" into place. Not sure if it is true but seems to have worked for me.

However, what matters to me most is that I NOTICE. I notice when I put on shirts that fit snuggly before and now fit a lot looser. I notice because most of my pants are almost too BIG. I can't wait for the day that my pants are way too big. I can't wait for the day when I can go to the mall and buy clothes in any store…
