No one convinced me to have the surgery. My body and my desparation to be well convinced me that I was running out of time and running out of choices. I had gastric bypass surgery 21/2 years ago and have never looked back. It was the best decision I ever made for myself. It is still alot of work and effort. I too had…

I had WLS over 2 years ago. I lost 160lbs and could probably stand to lose another 20-25 lbs, but I have stalled at my current weight of 165lbs for the last year which is ok with me as long as I don't gain. WLS is a personal decision based on many factors that only you can answer. For me, I had reached a point where I…

I am coming to the realization that I am going to have to tackle this again as I have gained about 5-7 lbs over the last few months and I am sure much of it is due to my failure to manage my carb cravings. I also had back surgery and was inactiv,e so that has also contributed to the weight gain. But, I am not willing to…

I majorly binged today as well--totally emotional eating after a really hard couple of days with the unexpected death of a friend's husband. I ate 3 donuts back to back (total of 1,000 calorie) and now I feel yuck. But, it is not the end of the world as I will go forward now. go to a Zumba class tonight and work off…

Reboot the computer 3 times? No.

Mike, I understand where you are coming from and I sometimes get frustrated with others in my environment that complain but are not willing to make the hard choices that bring change--- BUT, I find that if i am not really careful I can become arrogant and judgemental. All it takes is for me to mentally go back to the way i…

I lost 160lbs+ so I feel your pain. I had to replace underwear, dress clothes, casual clothes, pajamas, bathing suits, and even shoes. "Goodwill" became my best friend- I have now leveled off at a size 10-12 but I still sometimes buy things at Goodwill and have gotten many compliments on many of my outfits from there.…

I feel your pain--my highest weight was 325lbs and I could not ride rollercoasters, etc. But, just last week I went to Disneyland and enjoyed that at my new weight of 160lbs I no longer have to wonder whether I will fit. I rode rollercoasters and other rides that I have not even attempted in years. Hang in there--it is…

Was 28-32 size depending on the style clothing (wt.325). Now size 10-12 and wt 160lbs. at 5'6". How, changed eating and lots of exercise--esp. Zumba.

Depends on your weight and the intensity at which you do zumba. Best way to tell is by wearing a heart monitor. Don't believe people who say you burn 1,000 cal. ---that is very hard (nearly impossible for most to do). I am 160 lbs and do a fairly intense (for me) workout and burn about 500 cal/ hr.

Icing your shins, knees, ankles (whatever hurts) after you walk will also help. Drinking a protein drink after your walks can also help your muscles recover. Just keep moving even if iti is slow and somewhat painful. Eventually it will get better and you will be so surprised at how long or how far you can go without…

I support the rationale of it being mandatory for healthcare workers to receive the flu shot--I'm a nurse. Some diseases that were previously eradicated are now resurfacing, and it is thought that this is due to people choosing not to be vaccinated. I understand free choice, but your choice to not vaccinate puts more than…

If you are new to Greek Yogurt, be sure to stir it up real well after you open it. That makes it nice and creamy, yum. Just got through eating Fage Plain 0% fat greek yogurt with fresh raspberries stirred in. To die for!

I mix it with Fage Plain yogurt, and a little sweetner and make a dip for granny smith apples. Sometimes i just cut up the apples and mix it all together instead of dipping. great afternoon snack.

the gastric bypass did not "FAIL". You failed to change. It is not a magic bullet and it takes the same determination and strength to change as traditional weightloss surgery. Go back to the basics you were taught before your surgery and live the "change" you want to have. 1. Don't drink during meals or 30 min before or…

Count me in--presently I can only do a 2 min front plank and 30 sec side planks. Definitely need to work on this more!

Just one other thought--- how many of you ladies had an epidural when you delivered your child? Shame on you--you cheater, you did not do it the natural way---you took a short cut, the easy way out, you didn't really experience the pain of childbirth. You can't brag on that baby because you didn't do it naturally. How…

You asked that someone "correct you if you are wrong"--you are wrong if the person had a RNY weightloss surgery. The surgery can change your hormonal function and cause your body to respond differently to the food you eat. That is why some people no longer have diabetes immediately after their surgery--- not, after losing…

Just to put things in perspective---I am 52 years old and had weight loss surgery when i was 50 yrs old. I was overweight as a toddler dispite being fed healthfully and being very active. My two older siblings were less active, ate the same diet as myself and were of normal size. If it is just as simple as "diet" and…

Not offended, but just think some on here might want to educate themselves. It takes tremendous willpower, courage, and hard work to lose weight and maintain it after a necessary weightloss surgery. I agree that it can be an option that is misused by some, but there are those of us that have fought much longer and harder…

I dont every cook pork tenderloin fast-so, can't help you there. but, when you have time, I cover mine in choarse mustard then sugar free apricot preserves and cook in crockpot for 6 hours on low. Very good!

Most every morning i drink my first cup of coffee with Cinnamon Dymatize protein mixed in which substitutes for my creamer and sweetner plus gives me 24g protein! Yum, Cinnamon coffee! Then, if I want another cup of coffee with sweetner and a lower cal creamer, I drink it. No guilt as it is the only liquid calories I…

Fage plain yogurt mixed with PB2 to make a peanut butter dip and use for dipping apples or just cut up the apples and mix it all together---so good.
