I do this all the time. I eat before a date and just order something light, or eat before dinner at my bf's family's house. I only have 10 lbs to lose so if I tell people I'm trying to lose weight or watch what I eat, they usually have some really un-encouraging comments for me and I'm a sucker for peer pressure. Fill up…

You seem to know a lot about running, so maybe you can help me with something. Recently, my left knee has started to bother me when I run. I used to be a 10 min. mile runner and now I'm down to 11 to 12 mins. I'm going to make an appointment with a doctor to make sure nothing serious is wrong with my knee, but my question…

Would you guys recommend doing more races between now and then? Or…

That's my question exactly. Someone else on here posted that the nutritionist said not to subtract calories burned from excercise and just eat 1200 calories. What do you think? This subject is just very confusing for me...

I weigh myself every day after my work out, but that's just me obsessing because I can't seem to lose this darn weight!

Can I join??? This sounds like so much fun and after trying to go it alone for so long, I'm realizing I need a group of like-minded people to support me and hold me accountable and that I can lend support and accountability to as well.

Whoa! What a difference 4 lbs. made!!!! Nice work!

This! I agree 100%. With kids as old as yours, there's absolutely NO reason for you to be doing everything for them. The older one can watch the younger one while you go for a 40 minute run or something. I would try to engage your kids more than you have been and I think you'll find that not only will it free up more time…

Sounds so good! How would you adjust for altitude? I'm currently struggling with baking, now that I've moved to Denver. Thanks!

So, I have a related question: If I'm eating 1200 calories and then I burn, say, 300....does it have the same metabolism damaging effect as just NOT eating the 1200 calories? I'm just asking because you'd technically be consuming 1200 calories and sometimes it's hard to eat those excercise calories back if you're just not…

Hot mama! Nice work! Keep it up!!!

Amen, sister! Someone sent me a message privately yesterday and suggested I change WHAT I'm eating. They also said cutting out carbs for a while may break the plateau. We'll see. I'm just tired of doing all this work and seeing no results (not to mention still being unable to fit into my pants, ugh). Good to know I'm not…

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. You've all made some very good points. I'm going to put your advice to work and will share an update soon! I feel better knowing others are going through the same thing, so thanks for sharing your stories :-) B

For the most part, yes. The other day I had like a 700 calorie deficit, but it's impossible to eat an additional 700 calories sometimes. I'm just not that hungry and the thought of eating when I'm not hungry makes me kinda sick. :-/

Dear HBO, Thank you for finally ending Entourage. It was painful watching it die slowly, but at least now it can rest in peace. Going forward, please refrain from "beating a dead horse." It makes everyone uncomfortable and you should be ashamed of yourself. In other news, can I have Eric Northman's phone number? Thanks.…

This is going to sound crass, but I swear it works. Don't look for Mr. Right. Look for Mr. Right Now...get a little stank on you. It's weird, but it's like guys can smell that other guys are interested in you. Mr. Right will come along when you least expect it and in the mean time you can have fun with someone and only see…

Meh, my bf dated a girl right before me who was 6'3" (He's 6'1") and he wasn't bothered by it at all. He makes comments to me, however, like "I like your size" and "I like how small you are" (I'm 5'4"), but I get the feeling that it's less about height for him and more about the person. That being said, I'm a lot more…

That annoys me so much. FIrst of all it makes me feel awkward when people say stuff like that to me. How am I supposed to respond? I wouldn't say something like that to anyone else and make them feel bad, so why say that to me? Just focus on yourself and don't worry about what I'm doing. How about that?

I've not used it, but a friend of mine did and said it made her poop wayyyyyyyyyyy too much. She said that once she almost pooped her pants! I would just try to lose weight naturally, rather than with the use of pills....
-
That's disgusting. But here's a possible solution: Invite him to the gym with you. Maybe if you can motivate him to get healthy and it can be something you do together, as a team, he will relax and as he starts to feel better about himself, maybe he'll become more secure with himself. Just a thought. My bf and I go running…

Babe, I hear you. It's so hard not to stuff your face full of terrible-for-you foods when others are enjoying them all around you. I try to keep healthy snacks with me AT ALL TIMES. That way I never really get "starving" and thus, don't over-eat. Also, in those instances (for example at a BBQ last night) I just eat small…
