So, how's everyone doing. I had a great week two weeks ago, I made good food choices and hit the gym 4 days...last week was not so good, only made it to the gym twice and played ice hockey once. I'm back in the office for a few days, so I'm going to start tracking again, and downloaded the phone app. I'm also going to join…

Thanks for the responses everyone! It was nice to read that there are folks out there going through some of the same frustrations I am....I knew there had to be! I think I might start a group, I feel like we're all in the same wheel house with our weight loss goals! I have a professional exam coming up in a few weeks, so…

I just tried out your recipe tonight! made a few adjustments. I subbed plain non-fat greek yogurt for sour cream, added a tsp of vanilla and 2 tablespoons wheat germ, it seemed too thick so I added 3 tblsp pure maple syrup. Roasted a small pie pumpkin while I was working out, by the time I was done I had cooked squash…

I definitely did that today before I cooked leftovers for dinner...I tried to make up for it by adding a .5 cup to my dinner serving...but still I have no idea if I was over or under the actual amount.

I agree^^ I also wanted to point out that the link wasn't an article...it's just a slide from a sideshow... a "factoid". Here's a document that might be closer to actual facts. I actually think it might be the source document for This is definitely an interesting social economic discussion. They mention in this brief that…

have you been biking or doing any other exercise activity since your sprain? I sprained mine (mild sprain with bruising and swelling) about a month ago, and was able to start jogging slowly on it about a week later. I took two days off and biked at a moderate pace until my ankle swelling went down. I also iced like a crazy…

I used to always run with one or both of my earbuds in. I thought I couldn't run without music. There are some interesting articles out there that say you actually run slower when you are listening to music...hmm. I'll try to find the link. When I run in the afternoon I listen to music, when I have to run in the morning,…

http://www.tastespotting.com/features/tag/oatmeal-project/page/6 The oatmeal project, oatmeal 28 ways!!! Love the ideas on this site. Savory oatmeal...who knew! My favorite is cooked in the microwave with milk (skim or whole+water) and freeze dried strawberries, no sugar. This morning I had a mashed banana in mine, cooked…

Shopping in season is definitely key! I'm getting sad now that the growing season is almost over and we only have a month or so of abundant fresh local veggies at the farmers market. Just like the poster above it definitely depends on where you shop as well. Buying fresh veggies and fruits that are in bulk is cheaper then…

I eat Chobani every morning (Fage is my fav...but it's a little pricy to have every day, I'll buy it if I'm going to use it for cooking). I mix it with salsa for dip, I use it in palce of sour cream in spinach dip recipes and baking. I made blueberry muffins that called for sour cream with vanilla 0% chobani, they were…

http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2007/04/gnocchi-with-zucchini-ribbons-and.html Zucchini ribbons...if you cook them just right you can get a pasta like texture. This recipe inspired me to create something similar. I used a normal vegetable peeler (you don't need anything fancy) to create a bunch or ribbons (I had two or three…

when I was in college I used to make my own chips by toasting the fajita size flour or corn tortillas....in a regular toaster. Start on the lowest setting, and push down again if you need to. There are some chips that are popcorn like, but still tortilla based. I can't remember the brand name, but they weren't bad. I've…

http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=752087 The P90X Vegetable soup recipe is definitely the best soup base recipe I've come across. I've made a few variations of this recipe over the last year. I believe the originally recipe from the p90X book, had tomato paste, not sauce as indicated in the spark link…
