wow...haven't been on the boards for a while and the amount of responses is just...wow! thanks for taking the time to ready and respond, everyone. Thanks for explaining your own personal experiences and not getting all pissy about like people on other site might have... this is why i love MFP and all the people here, 90%…

awesome advise, i'm working with a trainer too and 90% of our workouts are strength training to tone the muscle I have because lean muscle does burn more calories at rest than fat does. I've noticed I"m losing a lot of inches and I'm starting to see definition in my upper arms again which is great. I only see her for…

hey! I used to worry about waving while standing next to my fiance in case my "wing" whacked him in the face LOL. I work out at my gym and use the cross-trainer/elliptical thingy cuz I can exercise my arms as well as my legs, also I do the tricep extension. doing any strength training every day isn't really recommended cuz…

Not sure if this "label" is on the link Candace mentioned but I identify as "heteroflexible". For me that means that while I am largely attracted me men there are the occasional woman (like Christina Hendricks or Jeri Ryan) and a few others (who are not famous) that I find attractive and would be comfortable being in a…

huge fan of Jamie's, don't have any of his cookbooks yet, but keep hoping i'll get one! I love his shows, I watch "Jamie's Meals in Minutes" every day! I've gotten some great ideas for meals from them!!! I also liked his Food Revolution shows...totally eye opening!!

my biggest motivation was last year around this time, my dad and I got together for Remembrance Day (Veteran's Day for americans LOL) and we had to walk up a hill to get to the cenetaph and I couldn't keep up. I was huffing and puffing and begging him to slow down. My parents walk 6 - 7 km a day so they are in shape, but…

used to watch MvF but now I am "in love" with Jamie Oliver, he makes GREAT food and it's mostly healthy... this man is my hero... Jamie's Meals in Minutes is amazing!!! **contemplates jogging to the store and picking up one of his cookbooks**

I'm canadian, can't afford to fly to UK for the Olympics but I will be watching on telly, also I believe there is a new group for people from the UK so you might find some more Englishmen there... hope that helps!

I am childless right now, but looking forward to having children in the near future. Honestly, the first thing I would do is report that S.O.B. of a pedi to the College of Physicians and Surgeons and maybe sue him for malpractice and try and get your expenses covered because without his neglect you're now having to put…

THANKS!!! It's been forever since I've run even a mile so I'm a little nervous but I believe in myself and i have lots of suport from friends and family... not that any of them are gonna run with me LOL

Hi! I'm Jenn, solitary eclectic Pagan for the last 13 years. Fitness goal is to lose around 100lbs in time for my wedding next October. There's not an overly large or welcoming Pagan community in my city so I'm glad I'm solitary. I'm trying to get ready to run my first half marathon in May 2012 and then Gods willing, a…

don't know if it's bad or good but i'm almost always over my protien and i'm still losing weight and inches so I really don't worry about it LOL i think if you're doing a lot of strength training the more protien would be a good thing but i'm not a personal trainer or nutrionist so don't take it from me LOL!!

Marilyn Monroe or Christina Hendricks, I want to be back to the hourglass I was in high school, nice chest, nice hips and a smallish waist and flat tummy!)

Tim Horton's has similar ones and they are SOOOOOO full of sugar! Could be from the fiber and natural sugar, tropical fruits are really high in natural sugar so that could be it...also, some "purees" have a lot of added sugar in them so the drinks taste better. I make homemade smoothies and add in veggies like carrots and…

almonds, baby carrots, cucumber slices, oranges, bananas, sunflower seeds...anything really that you can nibble on but don't have a lot of calories, ohh! seedless grape would be good too!

well lean muscle does burn more calories at rest than fat so if you want to get "double" benefits, I'd go with muscle building. You'd build some muscle which will help you burn more and lose more fat but you might only lose that 14lbs but you'll look better cuz you'll have lost the fat and built some lean, defined muscle.…

FairyMiss, I'm not trying to be mean so please don't take it that way but um...have you thought about buying a new one?? I'm not sure how much the cost so if it's really expensive whoops on my part but...um...wow.........

really BIIIIIG fish tank??

Ok, I know not seeing the scale budge can be annoying, but have you been taking measurements? Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space, so if you're toning and building muscle it is completely possible that you're losing inches of fat but replacing it with muscles which could be why you're not seeing a result on…

I use spaghetti squash... having some tonight actually! I don't like having a lot of cars at dinner but I'm not big on tofu personally, I'd rather substitute a veggie, but it sounds interesting, might look for it and try it some time for something different!

I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and if I want something flavored I'll have an herbal tea in the afternoon or evening, otherwise I drink water, I have a 16oz cup and I probably drink 5 or more of them a day, I'm definitely getting enough water. My personal trainer said that you should drink half your weight in ounces…

I LOVE books! I can't stop reading! So I make small goals, usually 10 - 15 pounds at a time and when I meet that goal I buy myself a book, usually an ebook now cuz they're a lot cheaper than paperbooks and take up less space. there are some authors I will spend the money to buy the physical book, but not many LOL. Also, if…

I'm 5'4" would love to trade ideas with women around my own height...feel free to add me too!

that sounds super good! altough the whipped cream might be a bit high in fat, I like putting them over low-fat frozen yogurt or just fat-free greek style yogurt which is also good. I had pumpkin pie at thanksgiving this year (crazy Canadian here) and I ate the filling and bit of whipped cream but i didn't eat the crust, it…

honestly, i've done the class a few times and you're right, if you don't do it often it's hard to figure out the weights. because it's a non stop one hour and you're doing weights but it also gets cardio in there i log it under circuit training personally. i asked this question a few months ago when i started out here and…
