  • Love any of the Chobani non-fat varieties except plain. I would only use plan in recipies or smoothlies were I'm adding in my own fruit/flavor. I used to only eat non-fat Yoplait 100 calorie options but after having greek for awhile it tasted HORRIBLE!!!!! No contest. It is all Greek for me! (FYI - I tried the Dannon Oikos…
  • I've set myself a range from the start. I started on July 31st 2010 with a range of 1500-1800 (I was 340) and kept to that range for about 6 months (mostly closer to 1500 than 1800). All this was before I was on MFP. I never wanted to go to low on the calories and at my high weight, I felt that this was a good adjustment…
  • Thanks for all the great suggestions. The frozen "diet" meals are just so easy for work but I know I can get more healthy options (and larger portions) if I shift to fresh foods. Just have to get all my ducks in a row to prep ahead. Uugh! My co-workers and I are formulating plans for this fall as we are all tired of the…
  • The elliptical machines I use at the gym let me put in my weight and age. I've noticed as I've lost weight that it is harder to reach my calorie burn goals (as others have mentioned). I never leave the weight on the machines at the default 150...at least I won't until I reach my goal weight. Check the options on…
  • I've tracked my journey on a blog but in short, I started my journey when I could no longer stand without leaning on something for support for more then 5 min. I had a wake up call that I had let it all go to far. Started slow, had a few bumps along the way and then last year set a goal of 100 in 1 (100lbs in 1 year) which…
  • Seems like this might cause some to wonder why they are not losing when they are burning calories. If they don't realize that what is automatic is too high and that they are not burning as much as the program shows. Fortunately you can edit if you have access to more accurate tracking.
  • Okay...I'm bumping this up so that all my new friends from today get to see the pictures.
  • For those of you whom would like to know about my journey, I've linked my blog that tracks the last year or so to my signature. Basically, there are no shortcuts or secrets. For me it is all been about hard work, staying consistent and keeping my focus. Our journey's will be unique but we all need friends on the road to…
  • Went on a cruise earlier this month. Knew I would gain some. My strategy was to maintain a good workout when I could, choose activities that were actually active and not food based and then enjoy the meals with a mix of smart choices (without missing out on the special items). Overall, I gained about 6 lbs and then simply…
  • Women do fluctuate around their cycles and I can track that over my weighloss journey. The way it was stated is just weird. I have an overall monthly target partially due to the normal up and down that my body experiences. That way, I don't let one week or even one day define how I'm doing. So not as much as a myth as…
  • Currently just hit 16 misses (yea! I can shop in normal/non-plus stores). Realistic size will be 10/12. My brain says I want to be a PERFECT 10!!!
  • I'm starting to get some of the same responses. I have 60 lbs to go for my goal but having lost so much weight, friends and family say things like, "you don't look like you have 60 more to lose", etc. I look around at work, church, even the gym and so many are justifying being "larger" as the norm. My goal weight is very…
  • trying to figure out the photo thingy...oh well...code isn't my forte Janelle
  • Um...you are going the GYM..no ironing required. I do agree...I've lost a lot of weight and it is tough on the pocketbook to stay clothed "offfice casual". After 170 lbs lost, I could remake my clothes from a year ago and still have extra fabric. Definately a good problem to have and now I simply want to get to my goal…
