Chocolate protein shake and a workout DVD that takes about 20 minutes, like the 30-day shred. The workout is short. "I can do twenty minutes!" Then after the workout = REWARD! The frothy chocolate shake! Nice hot shower, makeup and hair, and my day is on the right track. ~ Whoo hoo! Mission accomplished.

Excellent! This is pretty close to what my husband said to me, and it took me some time to get off my pity party wagon, but I'm glad he talked to me. And now he's my biggest supporter and cheering squad.

For endurance exercises and calorie burn, the elliptical is the best IMHO. 1. low impact and easy on your joints 2. whole body movement 3. extra resistance and inclines for strength 4. many have calories burned, heart rate monitors, etc. built in. I bought mine from Costco about 4 years ago. Other than having to tighten…

It was a great article! There's a lot of good advice there; very frank and worthy. Thank you for sharing the link!

When you start it seems like a really good idea to have read through the lesson, be familiar with what you are going to do including the warm ups, and to go prepared. One lady had mentioned that she took her clip board and her workout so that she could follow along and not get lost. I'm starting this too, but I'll be doing…

Perhaps a tighter fitting shirt that doesn't move against your skin? If it wasn't for bras I'd have the same problem. Since I'm a woman it's okay for me to wear them... but you might upset people close to you if you do the same. Good thing you're not a woman ~ my first thought was "Are you pregnant?" Keep on running!

HA HA Ha ha aha hahhahahaaaaa..... What's the point? The OP refers to some study done in some state. She uses no facts. Is she advocating anorexia? Is she into thinspiration? What's the point of this thread? It looks like some lame high school report cut and pasted off the internet with no references to back up the…

NO. NO. NO. NO. Understand? Step away from the EX. Move on.

Awesome! You're doing great! Your hard work is really paying off. Enjoy shopping for a new wardrobe, ha!

This means that all things being equal, Adventists WHO DO EAT MEAT live longer than Adventists WHO DON'T EAT MEAT. I have to yell here to get through the thick skulls of those who are on the Veggie band wagon. So having meat in your diet is better than having none. Hm, interesting. Because in Genesis God says to Noah and…

Don't go, unless there's an inheritance in it. Seriously, though. Don't go. Your grandfather is gone. It won't benefit him or make you feel better. Those people are not your family other than blood. Stay away.

For me there is a huge gap between Spirituality and Christianity, and I say this as a Christian. I'm more Primal than Paleo, but I understand what you mean. I just got semi-reamed by my DH this morning for following a diet based on the premise of evolution. Like another poster said, that's a whole other topic, but for the…

That brought tears to my eyes! Just from seeing other people's pictures I'd have guessed 40-60 pounds difference, depending on your height. There is no doubt in my mind that you are SO much healthier! I just started Eat More to Weigh Less and NROL4W, plus I do some jogging and I'm doing my first 5k event his Saturday. You…

You've come a long way since October! That's is wonderful dedication! Keep it up! You're an inspiration.

An hour of quiet... to run, work out, ride the bike. It's therapeutic. ...And the thought that someday I may run into my 'arch nemesis' and she'll see me and think "D*mn! She's hotter than I am!" Ha! that's my vain side coming out. Down, Vanity! Down!

Amen. And.. those of us who DO carry weapons make sure to get well-trained. We know that it's a huge responsibility, and we're willing to be prepared to save ourselves or our loved ones. It really p*sses me off when someone assumes that all guns/weapons/pepperspray, etc. are "evil". No, they can prevent evil. The object is…

Great site someone else shared here on MFP.... www.proteinpow.com

It's really okay to go over your protein amount. If you're under, I'd suggest adding a whey protein powder to your diet. They are an easy way to add protein and give me my chocolate fix! A great site for protein recipes using powders is www.proteinpow.com

For me it all comes down to gratitude, and I have to remind myself every day to look at the positives and not dwell on the negatives. It's tough, especially when there are so many memories of others planting negative thoughts into me from an early age. Most notably are my mother and brother, who told me how fat and homely…

Wow! What did you do to lose nearly 100 pounds in 6 months? Running? Strict calories?

When I did Atkins I found that adding fats (Mayo, sesame oil, avocado, etc.) after induction really helped too. The fats are great. After induction you can have some yummy veggies too, which help. Atkins really is a great fat-burner and some people love the food! I've moved on to the Primal/Paleo idea of eating whole foods…

This above is awesome! Congratulations on coming so far so fast! (Pun intended.) I "run" 3.6 miles 3xweek. I started with the Couch to 5k program and it really made a difference. I'm running an event 5k next week to support heart research, but like the poster above I may not make events a regular thing. They are very…

I'm so proud of everyone here! Even those who have gained understand what it was (salty foods on camping trip, etc.) and have a great attitude! I think for me the hardest thing last week was depression. I was in too bad of a funk to exercise even though I know it would make me feel better, and I didn't have any food in the…

I track what I eat, and if I'm stress eating (depression, etc.) I just dive into it. Tomorrow's another day, but I figure there are worse ways I could deal with stress than a little chocolate, ice cream, or Zaya. I can always exercise those calories away; other things aren't erased so easily, kwim?

Eh, the wedding's a one time thing. Maybe for your client the wedding is a way to acknowledge before all her friends and family that the two of them are committed. Maybe she's always dreamed of a 'real' wedding. Either way, it's about loving the partner enough to give them the special things they care about, especially if…

Your ex is a childish brat; it's good he's your ex. That being said, the snake stays at his house and it's his responsibility. If anything bad were to happen it's all on him. Remember; he's trying to BUY their affections and alienate you from them by doing this. It's an immature thing to do. Sounds like he wants to be…

There can be a peace, though. I truly believe that our little ones who leave this world too soon are safe in Heaven in Jesus' arms. I truly do I pray you have a peaceful night, and that your little niece has a wonderful, blessed life.

Don't forget to let your friends and bike club members know that you're looking for a road bike. My husband just picked up a very nice Trek road bike that sold for nearly $2,000 for .... drumroll .... $100 bucks because the owner has four and he rarely uses this one, and liked the idea of helping a dad of six support his…

Oh honey, if he's threatening to call off the wedding because of the stress and the quarreling, then he may not be ready to commit 'till death do you part'. What kind of fights are they? Is it about stupid stuff like the flowers for the wedding or what type of appetizer to have, or is it about how many kids do you want and…

Hey, I lost 50 pounds. And my mom who is Asian said in front of all her Asian friends "You're getting wrinkles. And you need to lose weight. You know it's not too late for you if you start now." While making me a plate full of sticky rice, coconut mango dessert, and batter-covered fried chicken. I was stunned. WTF?! I lost…
