It depends on the Doc. Some put you on Synthroid at 3.0, mine will not up my dose until I am over 4.0. I feel best when I am in the 2.0 range and start to feel bad at around 3.2. I have had my dosage increased twice since I was diagnosed in 2006. I have found that I really need to watch my diet and do lots of cardio in…

Thank you everyone, I will definitely be getting one now!!

And it is good to keep moving and working through it with walking or light cardio to get the lactic acid out of those muscles. Soaking in a hot bath at night helps too. :)

This happens to me too, first day after a little sore and stiff, next day worse and then gets better. Drink lots of water, it will get better as you build more muscle. :)

It is just a myth that women bulk up! We are not made to bulk up, weights will be good for you and keep your cardio going too. :)

I think it's more about who you are more comfortable training with. Good luck!! :)

Hello, I have the same thing and also take Synthroid, had it now almost 7 yrs. It is a battle, hard for me since I am also in my 40's. I have found that lots of cardio is my key and I must watch what I eat. Once your levels start to drop again (and they will if you have Hashimotos and will need to up your synthroid at some…

First of all...congrats for your progress!!! I would invest in a HRM, that will track your HR better than the machine. Are you alternating between the different levels? Or at a steady level of 3.5 walk with a 3.0 incline? If you are alternating then your HR will go up and down. I wouldn't always trust the machines HR…

I am doing my first Turkey Trot and 5k...wish I had seen this group before. No way I can run it, but I will do a fast walk and jog as much as possible. Good luck!! :)

You can add protein to show in your food diary (if it doesn't already show) and it will tell you what you should have daily. It will go up if you are exercising. :)

If you entered your weight, age and height then I would say it is pretty accurate. Everyone burns depending on their fitness levels and weight. If your HR got up there then you could burn that much in 30 min. I have the Polar FT 4, and it has me around 100 cal less than what the machines (treadmill, elliptical) say per…

Sounds yummy....thanks for sharing!! :)

And mid to high in your zone is a good cardio workout, and mid to lower is fat burning. You need to find what works for you. If you put in all your stats (age, weight, height...etc) into your HRM it will figure your zone out for you.

Your HRM will keep you in your heart rate zone. It will beep at you when your HR is too low and beep when it is too high. I have the same one.

Welcome to the site...I love it!!! Good luck and send me an add if you like. :)

Has anyone addressed this with their trainer? If they just started an exercise program 4 wks ago and kept to their calories without cheating...I would say that they are gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat yet takes up less space in the body. The best thing to do is to also measure everybody and ask how they feel in…

Of course I can totaly see how improving our diets and eating more fruits and veggies can do wonders for looking younger. Eating healthier is something I really need to work on.
