  • Was just thinking this morning that Christmas was exactly three months away and it could be a good short-term goal to work towards. Then saw this thread. I'll take it as a sign ;) SW: 156 CW: 156 GW: 143 Ultimate GW: 130 Aiming for 1lb a week until Christmas.
  • I'm two months into an IUD, and have gained 5lb since it was fitted. Also getting cramps and feeling quite bloated, along with the occasional hot flush. Hoping it will settle down after another few months.
  • I'm wary of eating too much fruit. I have a daughter who's extremely sensitive to the sugars in certain fruits. If she eats grapes, for example, for a couple of days in a row, her behaviour completely changes. She's ten times worse with dried fruit like raisins.
  • My daughter is 5 months old, so I think it's about time I did something about my baby weight! Haven't been on this site since I got pregnant, 14 months ago, but it was great when I used it before. My biggest problem is just motivating myself to eat well, rather than just grabbing what's nearest to hand. My daughter has…
  • Haha! Well done! I lost my fight with some chocolate mini-rolls today, but as they say, tomorrow is another day.
  • Student, but shortly will be a graduate trainee in a publishing company, moving on to Editorial Assistant after my training.
  • I should clarify because I just realised how badly I phrased the above: I meant I have no intention of cutting down on wholewheat products, however I would consider substituting them with oat-based ones.

  • Your starting weight and goal weight is fairly similar to mine! I only joined here a couple of days ago as well. I've started small - just eating more fruit and veg, drinking more water and logging everything I eat on here.
  • Are carbs really that bad though? I mean, I try to avoid white bread and rice and pasta, but I have no intention of cutting down on wholewheat products, or substituting them with oat-based ones, and I definitely wouldn't cut down on fruit to avoid carbs.

  • The same reasons that a lot of people already mentioned: - to wear tight clothes and not bulge out of them - to fit back into the jeans that are becoming too tight - I cannot afford a new wardrobe! - to feel more confident in general - not because I'm thinner, but because I've worked towards a goal and achieved it - to…
  • I'm in! I'd like to be on or near my target weight by then, and I'd like to be running 5k regularly. I also intend to: - Drink no more than twice a week - Go over my daily calories no more than once a week - Stop snacking after 8pm - Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day - Eat at least five pieces of fruit or veg per…
  • That's a really good point. I find that if I start the day by eating well, I'm less likely to reach for food to comfort me later on. Part of it must be nutritional, but part of it is probably that I feel good about myself for eating well. Whereas if I start the day by eating badly, I tend to think of the day as a bit of a…
  • That's fantastic! Well done!

  • Count me in as well. That goes to everyone who wants or needs support. :flowerforyou:
  • Emotional eating is one of my biggest pitfalls. I sometimes find myself standing in the supermarket aisle for ages, looking at all the different cakes and biscuits, and not understanding why none of them seem just 'right' and it's because my craving isn't for them, it's for comfort, and a desire to feel better. Crisps and…
  • Congratulations!
  • I did C25K last year, but haven't ran in almost a year now. Started Week 3 yesterday - the first time I've ran in so long, and it felt amazing! I was so happy to realise that all of last year's work didn't go to waste - I was well able for W3D1 and even added a couple of extra minutes on to one or two of the runs. Looking…
  • Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, I've been having a look through the forums this morning - it does seem like a really friendly and supportive place. And though I've used online calorie counters before, I love that this one is so clear! And that it gives you a goal for the day. I went into the red yesterday (final blowout with…
  • Another newbie to the UK team here! I'm in Edinburgh at the moment, but moving to Gloucestershire in about a month.
  • I'm quite relieved to see everyone else's calorie totals for breakfast! I've just started logging my calories on here, and I was getting worried because my breakfast total this morning was 400, which I saw as high, even though to me, it was a very healthy breakfast (cereal, OJ, banana). Glad to realise that some others are…
