I've maintained my weight my whole life going by the belief that I should only eat when I'm hungry. It's worked for me so I'm sticking to it. The only time this has NOT worked is when I know I'm doing a longer race and will need the energy. As a general rule you can get through a workout that is two hours long without…

I've been swimming forever. I would say that YOGA gives you more of an all-over workout. But, swimming gives a good workout as far as cardio and upper body. I wouldn't let that be my only workout. It is fun, though! I'm glad you enjoy it so much.

I got a kick out of your post...some people have no sense of humor at all. Thanks for the crack up!

Good ideas for keeping the fitness up. I have decreased to running only 2 miles one day and between 1-2 on one other. The rest of the week is biking, hiking, yoga and one swim. I'm concerned that I won't be able to do the Triathlon I signed up for on August 12. Just not up to snuff on the running yet. Oh--supplements you…

noelledell-I too have a desk job. There are ways around sitting there for 6-8 hours feeling helpless and tied to the desk! :) I've got two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch--not very much. On my breaks, I shut my door and do some arm exercizes--dips on the chair or pushups, sometimes I do crunches. I always get out…

I agree with kdiamond--2 hour sessions at the gym for someone new (or someone with experience) is too much. You are doing too much. I would expect your trainer to know better. You should leave feeling tired, but not totally wiped out. I've been doing triathlons for three years and I've never put in that much time in one…

"AWESOME AWESOME!!! I know the feeling and it's Awesome, I till don't 'feel like a runner' but I need to get the stickin thinkin out of my head!" Rayna99--I know what you mean about "being a runner" I've been at it for a while and I still can't get those words out of my head "you are soooooo not a runner." It's so hard for…

Great Job! i've been running for about three years and I've been struggling to get near that 30 minute mark the whole time. :) The closest I've ever come is 32 minutes...just before I had a foot injury that's kept the running to bare minimum. keep up the good work, there are ups and downs you just have to go with it and…

Look how many replies you got...we ALL do this! It's part of life...I think. :)

40 minutes is good! Sex is exercise! OK-down to business. YOGA will help you so much to open those hips. I'm a yoga instructor. Feel free to add me and i can send you poses to try to loosen them up. Best of luck!

I'd like to do this again. I'm challenging myself with less miles because my bike riding will be at a minimum...too much snow! I'd like to run 26 miles this month. I'm not going to include hikes, walks ect. Here we go...ooops...snowing today!! :)
