Get a bag of dark chocolate chips, like for baking cookies. 1 serving = 1 TBSP = 70 calories. Pop them one at a time and let them dissolve - will take a good half hour to get through them! And measure with a food scale so you get every gram allowed :wink:

I'm running Seattle too this weekend. Last year's was my first, did one this summer and this will be my third. First mile takes you under the monorail and past TOP POT -- and the entrire crowd moans in delight at the smell. Crossing the 90 is pretty cool too. Try to keep your feet dry (HA!) and you'll be fine!

iPhone is a must and goes in the small zip pocket on the back of my running pants. For all other necessities (chapstick, carb gel, etc) I got two shoe pockets at REI for about $5 each. Best thing ever! Attaches through the laces with velcro, small and stretchy, and I dont like to wear or carry a bunch of stuff so it's like…

I started out just walking. Lots and lots of walking. Gradually increased my speed, then my distance, and soon I was going for over an hour at a fast pace barely breaking a sweat. Lost the first 20 pounds walking. Then for a challenge I added a 1/2 mile hill. Once up, I had to go down the hill, and one day ran it slowly.…
