  • Chinese things w/Mushrooms or 'in black bean sauce' High sodium but not too bad calorie wise. Indian Tomato based sauces are usually the lowest unless you go for the dry tikka. As said above stick to the boiled rice!
  • Make it fun, tell them they can have their desert if they run up and down the garden or walk up/down the stairs 5 times :)
  • And to think I always liked the UK version of Outback Steakhouse. Guess I won't be making any more trips there (last time was 6 months ago to be fair :) )
  • You look amazing! Well done you!
  • To me there's the argument in a nutshell. I really think 'biggest loser' is a huge marketing tool and lots of companies probably pay to get their products on the show (especially subway FNAR!) but I also think both Jillian and Bob (And Shannon and Michelle from the Oz version which you should watch too!) are not only great…
  • Chill :) Really, what's gone has gone you need to stop looking back and thinking negative, if you're knocked back then resolve to improve next week and I'm not saying take massive strides think of small things you can do. Don't worry about a gain after a few weeks, the body is always balancing and sometimes it balances in…
  • Well done you! Big difference and you look great!!!
  • Any nice 'scenery' where you live? Walking is always good, try getting some audio books or anything you like listening to and just go for a walk. At home, any stairs? Use them like a step machine :) I use to do 100 x 3 steps 'per foot' and then jog up/down the stairs 5 - 20 times in between sets. Chair, for your arms slide…
  • If you're going to a gym try taking some of the classes, just turn up to random ones and see what you like. Ask the trainers if they'd be able to point you in the right direction, personal training costs a lot but also they don't want you to leave because you're not sure what to do so the 'regular' staff should be able to…
  • The only time in the past 5 months I've eaten at McDonalds was Sunday morning at 5am after working for 16 hours without a break and no food at all. Only place open, I drove past and grabbed a chicken sandwich and fries. Aw how bad of me... right? Did you know Sausages are pretty much made the same way as Nuggets? Did you…
  • I'm currently on 49lbs in just over 4 months. I'm sure it can be done. However. I've also lost almost 150lbs in six months. But just as a warning, I almost killed myself doing it and I'm very lucky I didn't end up with permanent health issues because of what I did. I also didn't give myself a grounding in how to eat when I…
  • Good question. No 1 - Staying there. No 2 - Maybe going a little bit up through body building. No 3 - Getting back into sports properly. I'd love to get back into American football, though I'm getting on a bit for that now :) I'd like to play a bit more football (soccer) maybe and perhaps even look at coaching. Clothes…
  • I wish I knew the answer. http://www.raceforlife.org/Community.aspx One thing about the pictures on this page, Race for Life is one of the biggest events regarding cancer in the UK, I flicked through a great deal of those photos and am struck at just how few men are in them. That's said I just looked at the application for…
  • Don't fret it. In my opinion weight doesn't, and will never matter, of course its good for keeping track of how you are doing, but we focus too much on weight and not enough of general health, right now I'm still very overweight, but I feel healthier than I have in years, I'm not worried that I've stalled a bit recently…
  • Same the last few weeks. In fact, so much the same I haven't lost more than 1lb in any given week for a while now. We shall have to redouble our efforts! :D This weekend, I WILL be better, it has been a stressful few months to be fair but that's no excuse.
  • Sounds insane. I mean, if that was true my shoulders would be underneath my arms.
  • It does read a little like an advert for Scivation Whey. I'd rather eat the chicken to be honest :)
  • My day starts when I wake up, it ends when I go to sleep, no matter what times I do....
  • Welcome! This weight loss thing is hard but it's mostly mental. If you say "I can't" then you are already giving up before you've started, I'm not telling you off, because there is only one person who should be telling you anything and that's yourself, if you are not ready to heal then you won't get far. You have to be…
  • I dread the day Henry Rollins starts singing Jazz/Blues Oh wait...
  • You know what you want. Don't listen to anyone else. Unless it's a qualified doctor or nutritionist saying that you're loosing too much/need to lose more/don't need to lose more then there is no reason for you to listen to anyone else. Listen to what is in your own head FIRST. I guess I'm lucky. most of my friends know…
  • I have a 1.5ltr bottle of water next to me. I constantly sip during the day, and by the end of the working day it's gone, then I head home and do the same. Usually drink about 3ltr's of water a day. Which is good for me as a few weeks ago I was drinking 4ltr's of Pepsi Max a day and hardly any water. Good change I think :)
  • Wow! The change in your face is pretty obvious! Well done you keep up the good work!
  • Not going to make 20lbs by Halloween. However that said I'm not too bothered as after a few weeks on a plateau I've started on the downward trend again. Weighed in this morning. Another 1lb down. Last weigh in was last Thursday so 1lb in 4 days. Not bad :)
  • I found the 'less sugary' water drinks have given me a real boost in keeping off the Pepsi max. Perfectly Clear, supermarkets own brands. Things like volvic touch of fruit has as many calories in it as fruit juice so I tend to stay away from that (it's all sugar) but there are plenty of drinks that are 3-8 cals for 250ml,…
  • No one going for this anymore? Anyway, this week I think my weigh in day should be thursday rather than Monday. I seem to do so much better during the week and checking in Monday after a hectic weekend often leaves me feeling a bit low. this monday I was 292lbs, I weighed in Thursday (same time of day) and I was 288. So…
  • I sense, from that last comment and your avatar you may be a fan of a certain series of movies. :D Me too. Anyway. To the lady in question. You look fabulous, size 12 is pretty small really, lots of people aim for a size 10 but I don't see why in most cases as we all have our own body shapes, I agree with you that losing…
  • Uh couple of weeks in and I've been on a plateau. I'm hoping that I've finally beaten it though, staying the same for a while and even went up a bit this week, thankfully the needle went down this time though :
  • I think I definitely had those swings before when I first gave up Diet coke a few years back, man that was rough. So far this time apart from what feels like a dull ache behind my eyes all the time it hasn't been so bad, I know what I'm doing for myself is good so I think I convinced myself that I'm happy no matter what...…
