I'm Dawn - 36, child-free, married for 10 years in June. I used to play WoW (who hasn't?) to the point of addiction. Since quitting WoW, I've not played a whole lot. I prefer PC to console. Just started playing Stardew Valley last night and I foresee many hours being wasted on it! I had lost 70 pounds, gave up, hated…

I just bought it last night after my husband showed me multiple videos on GiantBomb. Super fun and addictive! I liked Harvest Moon a lot, and this feels really similar.

First (and only) time doing stability ball jackknives with my trainer. It looked easy enough when he did it. I struggled doing them and as I went to get off the ball, I must have tried to take both legs off at once and face-planted. My trainer told me I looked like a crime scene victim, and we both got a good laugh!

Would love to join as well!

Great! Thanks HeyBales! Glad to know it's not as far off as I was thinking.

The 2 calculations were rather far apart: Navy = 55.44, Covert Bailey = 32.00, Average = 43.20. Calculated Cunninham RMR = 1625. The sleep part is interesting. Now that it is summer, I sleep with a fan on and usually wake up cold, then cover up and get hot, throw off a blanket and get cold, rinse and repeat all night long.…

So glad I found this thread! I calculated what BMF has for my RMR and BMR and came up with 1.33 cals for BMR and 1.15 for RMR. It sounds like it needs adjusting then but when I did the steps on the spreadsheet that you listed out, including deleting my tested RMR (unknown), the spreadsheet says that I should change the…

Fantastic results! Congrats to all of your hard work!

Bumping for later. Looks like there are lots of good suggestions!

I can't say I am a complete success yet, as I still have a long way to go. But, thus far, I've not completely cut anything from my diet except fast food and pop (soda). I don't want to deprive myself of anything. But, I have adhered to "everything in moderation." I occasionally eat pizza, or we go out to restaurants. I'm…

You are all welcome to add me as well - just add a note please that you are from EM2WL. :)
-
Feel free to friend request me - just make sure you add a note so I know you aren't someone just spamming invites! ;)
-
Fantastic progress! Thank you for the reminder about the scale, and keep up the hard work!
-
You can add me as well! Still have about 50-60 pounds to go. I've been eating around my BMR + exercise because the scale has not moved in a long time, but I'm definitely not one of those 1200 a day people. In fact, I'm normally over because I can't even do at BMR! Anyway, feel free to add me!
-
I'm a little late to the game, but peeps can add me as well. Just please include a little note so I don't ignore the request!

Feel free to add me, just put a little message in there so I don't ignore you!

Their calculator is much different (someone else would have to jump in and explain how here.) It will say you'll lose slowly, but you shouldn't. I would eat at the 15% cut (2013) for a few weeks and see if things are moving for you. Should be around a pound a week or so, I think. If the scale doesn't seem to be moving, you…

Eep, sorry to hear about your job! Just do the best you can, that's all any of us can do! And absolutely add me - I'm always open to more friends! Especially ones that eat!
-
I agree but only because I know how I would have reacted. I would see if she notices you've lost any weight, or if she asks how you've been you can maybe mention EM2WL, etc. I think the big thing with losing weight is that you have to be ready. But if you can somehow slip in info about EM2WL, she might see it's not so bad!

Correct! Protein is usually the hardest to hit. Focus on including foods that have a high protein content into as many meals and snacks as you can: cottage cheese, nuts, nut butter, tuna, etc. I think most of us also use a protein powder to make it a bit easier.

I personally try to keep processed food out of my diet as much as possible, so I don't even touch low cals breads and such. If it says "fat free" or "low fat," I steer clear. They put in a bunch of chemicals that I just don't want. (I use the Fooducate app on my phone, which helps me identify things I want to stay away…

No need to feel stupid! It takes a bit of time to grasp! I think everyone has a different preference on upping gradually vs. taking time. I, personally, would just up them. You haven't been on a VLCD for long and you're hungry! You might experience an initial gain - but don't panic! Eat a few weeks at 2013 and then…

Welcome Coral! I plugged your info into the Scooby's Workshop calculator and got very different numbers: BMR: 1722 TDEE: 2368 TDEE -15%: 2013 Using those numbers, you would eat 2013 calories every day, whether you work out or not. If you have an intense day of working out and your net calories falls below 1722, make sure…

Feel free to add me (just include a little note so I don't ignore you!)

Aww, look how adorable he is! Congrats to both you and your daughter! Welcome to the world little Garrick!
-
That is absolutely fantastic! So happy to hear you are negating those thoughts of guilt! It takes a while, but you'll get there! Thank you for sharing with us! Can't wait to hear how you are doing in the future!

As others pointed out, the numbers the dietitian gave you are spot on to what the calculators we all use would recommend. At the moment, you are eating to maintain, which means the scale shouldn't move much. I don't recall if you said or not, but if you're coming off of a VLCD, it completely makes sense that you would feel…

With only 10 pounds to go, either way you go may be slow just due to being so close to your goal. That being said, I personally would rather go the route of fueling my body, especially at an extra stressful time! Like Stephanie suggested, I would focus on heavy strength training. In three months, I bet you could lose…

I third the increase to 2000 calories. From what you gave us, you seem to average around 4 hours of exercise per week, so stick with the moderate level. Let us know how it goes for you!

Just tossing this out there as I noticed it on Reddit a couple weeks back. Basically, it's a physicist that decided to test protein powders to see if the amount of protein he measured coincided with the amount they claim. Obviously, it's one person's study, there are flaws, as with any study, etc etc, but the results were…
