Don't get discouraged. from the two pics you posted, I can see a difference. you look more trim, and toned, specially in the face. BTW. muscle doesn't actually weigh more than fat. 1 pound of fat, weighs the same as a pound of muscle. it's just that muscle is more dense/tightly packed, so the volume of the two are…

I doubt it has anything to do with age. and more to do with wether or not the ppl looking at the post are able to answer whats being asked. I know I read some posts, and don't answer. but I never base my choice on to answer or not, on the age of the person asking.

I've tried both. but prefer the real bike. to me sitting indoors, staring at the tv, or wall while I peddle just isn't the same as riding down a street, or trail, watching things go by, plus the fresh air, seems to make it more enjoyable,

your best bet for getting the best advice on a bike for you. would be to talk to a local bike shop. (don't go with a department store, they won't know much.) the bike store staff, will have a better idea of what you need/want. since they deal with bikes on a daily basis.

you probably could get one from a sporting good, or athletic apperal. store. all I use is a plain old measuring tape I picked up in the sewing section of a local walmart. it measures the same as one from a fancy shop, and only cost about $2.00

Thats something I'd like to know too. I've heard lots of good things about zumba. although I think I'll get it for the Wii system. less chance of me making a fool of myself in public.
-
I'm getting the same thing. most ppl haven't noticed that I've lost 75lbs and 10 inchs, from my heaviest/largest. the only one to notice and say anything was my ex-gf/mother of my daughter. but in the end, I just tell myself as nice as the comments/compliments are to hear. I'm doing this for me, for my health, and not to…

stick with a digital scale. they have less moving mechanical parts so they have less to wear out. if your scale is acting up, and giving you 2-3 different weights, replace the battery. but it's best not to focus on the weight. only weigh yourself once, and on one day of the week. aim for the same day, and same time. I…

Congrats. from that pic. it's not a small NSV.

agreed.... unless you add anything to flavor it. the calories stay the same. and as far as I know the same thing goes for rice.
-
I agree. don't worry I've done the same thing, and had the same result. the main reason for the increase, is cause most of the calories we take in during the day, are burned off while we sleep. pick one day a week to weight yourself, I personally do it mondays, cause the weekly counter on here ends on sunday night. and…

go with what works for you. some ppl prefer smaller/shorter goals (such as: lose 30lbs by september) others prefer to have only one goal to focus on. (ie: I plan on losing 130lbs) there is no one right answer, in the end you have to do whats right/best for you.

I've tried a few different iPhone pedometer apps, and haven't found one thats reliable, or accurate. most of them flucuated by 500+ steps, when I walked the same route, at the same pace. even though they were all calibrated before using them for a workout. my suggestion is to check out the reviews in the app store, find…

Don't worry about the natural sugars in your fruits and veggies, they are better for you than processed sugar. your best bet is to try to keep it as close to your set goal as possible. but don't fret about being over. and the same goes for the natural salts in them as well. natural salts and sugars are a hell of lot…

when the site says 8 cups of water, they mean 8 - 8 oz glasses. but that is only recommended, you can drink more if you work up a good sweat, when it's 90F + in the shade. etc.....
-
the calories burned, that are listed on MFP, are guesses based on the "average person" and since not everyone is "average" it is best to trust the number on your HRM, since it is calibrated for you specifically
-
it may be food related, but another factor is when you are exercising, your blood vessels, and veins expand to help blood flow easier and the higher heart rate. and when you stop, the blood is not longer needed, but your veins and blood vessels remain enlarged for about 30 min, which causes a massive drop in blood…

I agree, Canadian bacon is not "just ham" it's alot better than bacon. and if your going to call Canadian bacon "just ham" then you might as well call American beer what it really is..... flavoured water.

I drink about 3 litresof water a day, and haven't had any bad effects, except having to race like a piss horse. However you can drink too much water. it'll just cause a lack of salt, and sugar in your system, and can lead to serious health problems. my suggestion is to ask your famly doctor, or a health professional.
-
other good brands for an HRM are Sportline, and Mio. both of them have models for between $50 - $100 and up. With a sensor strap, and they "count"calories burned. my suggestion would be to check out the manufacture websites, and amazon.com to view models, and pricing, and read user reviews, before running out and buying…

anything worth achiving, is never easy. thats the one that helps me when I don't want to do my exercise, or I feel like stopping early.
-
congrats on yoru new HRM's. I hope they work well for you.
-
I'd say log it, 4 lbs is a great loss. I'd be proud of it.
-
I had that same issue but between my HRM, MFP, and a pedometer program for my iphone. after some research, and talking to my doctor, I found that the HRM is a more accurate reading of you calories burned, as it take into account your heart rate, and what exercise zone your in. (ie: fatburning, aerobic, or cardio) but with…

don't let that idiot get you down. your better than that.

it's nothing to be afraid of, they will just have you go through different stretches, and flexing, to assess the condition and severity of your injury. and then help you to do exercises to help make your knee feel better.

I've been drinking about 8-12 cups of water too, and it's been helping me to lose weight. but I have read that too much water can cause your system to lose needed salts, and sugars, which can be bad for your system. my suggestion would be to try and stick around 8 glasses, and talk to your family doctor, he would/should…

for me, my favorite spices are garlic, rosemary, curry, chili powder, and dill is really good if used on fish (trout, and salmon specifically)

those are funny toys. but totaly inappropiate for kids. any parent that buys one of those for their kids, deserves a smack in the head.
