  • thats a great NSV. congrats, and keep up the great work.
  • I can't say that I'm cold all the time. but I have noticed that I'm not overheating as much with the heat and humidity. sweating a lot less too.
  • For me. I started with switching from white breads, pasta's and rice, to whole wheat, whole grain stuff, and doing portion control. then over time I started eliminating most junk foods, and dark pops (coke, pepsi, root bear, dr pepper, etc...) and started exercising. no real plan so to speak of, just making healthier food…
  • NSV means Non Scale Victory. like when someone notices your progress. you fit into an outfit you couldn't wear for a year or more. things like that.
  • I've listened to that song a few times, and in my opinion, you have the message of the song bang on. and it's true, but usually when someone tells me I can't. I think of the little engine that could..... and as I'm trying to to what ppl told me I couldn't. I just repeat to myself. "I think I can, I think I can" and some…
  • to answer your question, brunettes, definately brunettes..... but to be honest. I prefer redheads above all others.
  • P90X will cause some weight gain at the start. because of the exercise you do, it breaks down your muscles, so they'll build back stronger. which is done with water, and protein.. keep at it. and don't give up..... another reason for the gain, could be stress, from starting a new job, and having to cut down on your gym…
  • Thats like me. I have a couple outlets that the plugs hang out of. but I leave them plugged in...I just have surge protecctors for everything important. (computer, mini fridge, coffee maker, TV, DVD player, and Wii) lol
  • I have the EA Active sports for the Wii, and it is a great system mixes a lot of different exercises together. but is a pretty good butt kicker, atleast for me.
  • Well Said, Here Here, I agree, and a bunch of other different words, all meaning the same thing. I find that really annoying too. (enough said)
  • I currently have 6 tattoos, and planning on getting more... currently I have: Celtic Cross on my right arm: cause I'm of Irish decent a wolf's head on my left arm: for a good native friend of mine that passed away. a trillium done in tribal style: for being Canadian, and cause I thought it would look cool. a tribal style…
  • did a search online, and found something that might help explain your situation. you might also find some helpful links to remedy it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketosis
  • the natural sugar's in fruits and vegetables are nothing to worry about. it's the add sugar, used to sweetin foods, that you have to watch out for.
  • congrates. way to go.
  • I burned about that with 1 hr of fast walking, and 15 min of climbing stairs. so the calories burned look right, when compaired to your average heart rate. just one question. did you HRM come with a chest strap, and did you use it. or did you just use the touch sensor throughout your workout? (the chest strap makes a big…
  • I try to log everything I eat or drink. even my daily coffee and sugar twin (I know it's only 2 calories a cup. but I still log it) the only things I don't log are salt, pepper, garlic, mrs dash, etc.... but for some strange reason, everytime I add Frank's hot sauce to my meals. I log it. even though it has 0 calories. (I…
  • I'm in the same boat. I love my coffee. When I was driving (for a living) I would drink 4-6 XL timmies in a day. (which was way too much for me I know.) lately I've been have four 8-10 oz cups a day. and it hasn't affected my weight loss. I say don't worry about your coffee intake, unless it starts to equal out to about…
  • one question, how many ppl at the gym use that same scale on a daily basis. and how old is it? its more likely that the gym scale is out of wack (not working properly) I had that issue with my doctors scale but the reverse..... my doctors scale said I was 221 lbs, but my home scale that same morning said I was 198 lbs. I…
  • I'd either count it as cleaning light to moderate effort. or moving household items, moving furnature. not sure cleaning vigourous, would apply. unless your rolling on the paint highspeed, and getting you heart really pumping. and breathing heavy.. your best bet would be to use a HRM, or a pedometer that estimates your…
  • yes I reccommend getting yourself an HRM. it'll help give you a more accurate calories burned estimate... As for what brand/model. everyone on here seems to say polar is the best. I purchased a Sportsline that came with a chest strap. from what I've heard it has all the same features, and does the same job as the polar's,…
  • It will work without the chest strap. but the calories burned won't be as accurate, cause you will have to keep touching the sensor on the watch itself to read your heart rate. the chest strap gives constant measurements, making it much more accurate. But if you don't plan on using the chest strap. then I'd suggest just…
  • I make mine as random as possible. one day I walk 3-5 miles. the next I bike about 10-12 miles, today, I did turbo jam for 20 min, then rode my bike for about 40 min. tomorrow. I'm either going to do Tae Bo and bike, or 30 Day Shred, and walk. One day this week. I might throw in swimming, just to be even more random.
  • You may be tired and sore. but I bet you feel great for having done it. way to go. and keep up the great work.
  • That would be a difficult question for anyone here to answer, unless they see/seen the lump in question. the best person to answer is you. or your significant other.
  • All that comes to mind, is WOW. you look awesome in that dress.
  • that is an awesome NSV there. and I agree. you should buy a lotto ticket. with luck like that. you might win big.
  • anything natural, not canned, dehydrated, or preserved with added salt, sugar, msg, etc..... whole grain foods, (pasta, rice, bread,) eggs, cheese. also it is good to eat some red meat, just not every day. and go for the leanest ones avaliable. also try avoiding the breaded cuts of meat.
  • Great thinking there. those ppl telling you that they can't see the loss, and that it'll be for naught. are either just full of it. and trying to sabotage your efforts. or they are blind, in more ways than one. Keep up the good work. and at the end of the day, remeber, that your doing this for you, your family (current or…
  • I've always been told that the measurement for meat is always when it's uncooked. and I'm sure that the calorie count has taken into account a possibly loss in calories due to shrinkage, or fat being drained off.
