  • I am definitely dragging this week. I'll get my minimum but not much more. The rest of ya'll will have a good shot at MVP
  • Now that is a low blow. I'm a 2 time combat veteran. You haven't lived until you have changed a tampon on the side of the road at night in full battle gear while someone in a Humvee covers you. I do agree if you are big whiney baby, male or female, the military is NOT the place for you. My period has never affected my…
  • I started the C25K in January 2014 and have been doing a combo of running in place and jogging around inside of my house. I figured since they have those walking in place videos that running in place would be the same. I checked MFP and they actually have a "jogging in place" cardio exercise so I consider it legit. I plan…
  • I'm with you. I'm impatient. The more I do the sooner the results! But I usually end up with stress fractures and then can't do anything for months. So I'm going slow. As long as you're consistent, it's still good work. I've been working out 5-6 days a week for 3 months. I alternate duration and intensity. Yesterday was my…
  • I hate running, but nothing else gets me/keeps me in shape like running. I had to give it up in the past due to injuries. I actually started back in January, but I'm going really super slow to prevent injuries. I'd love to join. I signed up for a 5k in mid March. Whether or not I run the whole thing is still up in the air.…
  • Definitely talk to your doc. If you are fine doing the 30 minutes a day without incident I would continue. There are varying levels of asthma. Some people are affected during exercise, some not. Some people are only affected during exercise. You may find that you also have a severe case of exercise asthma on top of your…
  • Aw thanks! Advantages of a tiny team :)
  • Love it! We have a real shot at this. Even though Rick hasn't been doing a whole lot, most all of the other teams have some real slackers and are hurting on points. We have been in the top 3 every week just on our own work, ahead of those who have had actual kills! I would LOVE to get Abraham or Tara. Not really Eugene.…
  • Lol, I had a nice loss week before last and was trying to repeat or step it up this week. Didn't work, I just ended up tired and sore. This is going to be a light week of for cardio for me. So excited about Rick! Way to go man! I still think he should have smothered the passed out guy though.
  • So the Sally Squats, harder than I thought. I usually don't do mine in time, but in reps. I did count them the first time just to see how many were done in 4 minutes and I ended up doing 60 squats. So far I'm already at 395 minutes of cardio for the week, so if anyone needs any cardio minutes let me know. Have a great week!
  • Thank you! I feel so honored. I only got it because Chris was sick, we all know it's true. I'm still going to do the punishment exercises because I actually love squats and they are part of my routine anyway. Sally Squats are new to me, but look simple enough. If anyone needs me to do theirs let me know. Let's have another…
  • Thanks Dazzillionaire for the amazing offer!
  • I had 100 minutes in strength training. I did the burpees. Oh how I hate them. I soooo should have spread them out. I don't think I've ever done that many at once. My abs are killing me, and I didn't even know the affected the abs. I had 390 minutes of cardio.
  • Of course it's burpees. I HATE burpees. But I was thinking of doing a 30 day burpee challenge next month so this will give me a taste of it.
  • I'm with you, Carl totally stole Rick's kill. Kids, wasteful, never listen to reason. Hopefully Ricks gets himself into a better frame of mind and gets his butt into gear.
  • I can't believe so many have dropped out already! Oh well, we don't want any quitters on our team anyway. Us remaining will just have to kick butt. Go Team Rick!
  • I think we definately should get bonus points for being weapon ready. Being fit will only get you so far...
  • Indoor shooting ranges are loud, especially when there are a lot of shooters, some of who were probably playing with a larger toy. I agree with Chris, double up on hearing protection. Hearing is one of those things you need to safe guard. Once damaged, it is lost, hearing never heals. The 9mm Beretta is an awesome pistol,…
  • I was thinking about trying to rig an old duffle bag to a hanging plant bracket. Two issues though, I'm not sure if it will support the weight, and it is close to the wall. But I thought I could stand next to the wall and use it that way and fill the bag with a comforter so it wouldn't be so heavy. That'll be a fun weekend…
  • I've been lazy on the cardio lately so I really needed this, 30 minutes on the elliptical last night was a good start. Good idea with the punching bag. I might try it if I could figure out how to mount it.
  • Hi all, my name is April. I'm a huge WD fan. I actually missed the first season but had heard so much about it from friends that I watched the season 1 marathon prior to the commencement of season 2 and loved it. I was hooked from the first episode. Picking a team has been tough, but I'm going to have to go with Team Rick.…

  • Ah people are so judgmental. My stepson is overweight, I get so many looks we go places. We get him 2 weekends a month. But he has expressed desires to lose weight and get fit because he is playing football. He likes to play pass with the football or baseball out in the yard weather permitting. I take him walking with me…
  • And two mornings in a row!
  • This morning was my first morning workout. I got up at 0530 (I usually get up at 0630) so I could do my Jillian Michael's 30 day shred first thing in the morning. I started the 30 day shred on 1/1 but the only TV with a DVD is always occupied so I struggle with getting in an afternoon/evening workout. I kept missing days.…
  • This also happens to me. I get tingle toes no matter what workout I do, usually 30 minutes in. The bike, walking/running, stair master and elliptical all have the same affect. I figured it was poor circulation and power through it. I do a lot of moving my feet around and wiggling my toes during the workout to lessen it and…
  • I used to buy cookies and chips for the kids, then ended up eating them all. So I stopped buying unhealthy snacks completely. The kids can eat healthy too. Of course they would rather have cookies. So would I. But instead we have fruit, granola bars, crackers, etc. Having the snacks in the house was too much for me. I had…
  • So true. You can search my fitness pal by zip code and find some local like minded people who will be supportive. I'm not saying drop all your old friends, just branch out and find some new ones to add to your circle. Losing weight is hard enough without outside forces bringing you down. No one of needs that kind of…
  • I am also starting Turbo Fire next week so would love some support. I'm doing mine on the living room carpet that is well padded so I think should be good there. Has anyone run across any issues with the program? I've heard nothing but great things.
  • I agree it's more about proportion than size or age. When I was less than 20 I had the body but not the confidence. Now I have plenty of confidence but not the body. Now I'm a size 14, but a one piece doesn't work for me because I'm pear shaped with a long torso. One pieces aren't long enough and to get one large enough…
