You have much to celebrate about your accomplishments, God-given gifts and your talents! You should be proud. Celebrate you!!! Hugs, Julie

By the way Joanne - please don't leave me after you lose that last pound!!! I would be so sad. if I didn't see your great posts anymore.

cmriverside: Sorry, no can do..... Jeff isn't dreamy for me. I'm all about Jimmy! Besides that my cousin would kick my butt if I picked Jeff, since she claimed him already. But Jeff taught Jimmy everything he knows, so I guess I have to give him that. Jeff will be surprised when Jimmy takes two in championships in a…

Hi Sage26f! Welcome! NoMoreAt3 started a string on supporting all folks here - those losing, trying to maintain or those trying to get up to a healthy weight. You might want to check out the string called "where's the support when it is needed?" (Thanks NoMoreAt3, you brought up a really important issue)

This has nothing to do with weight loss..... cmriverside: I have never watched NASCAR in my life. But my friend managed to convince me to be in a pool this year and so I threw in my $20, picked my drivers (none of whom I knew) and thought what the heck. Now, with 4 (?) races to go, I am in the points lead and may win the…

Personally, I don't log anything that isn't above and beyond what I used to do anyway, such as shopping, extra curricular actiivities with my hubby, etc. I figure if I wasn't at my target weight before when I was doing those things, why should I count it now. Maybe I am thinking about this all wrong?????

Very cute pictures - kgllose and Joanne. cmriverside - Go Jimmy!!!!

Hi Clutter - I can only remember what it was like to be in my late teens and early twenties when people used to think I was anorexic - which I certainly wasn't, just could not gain weight. It did bother me quite a bit, especially the crap I got from my family, who are all a lot larger than I am. That weight situation went…

Wow! That is fabulous - way to go. Your body will adjust and then you can rev up your metabolism again. Keep it up and let us know how it goes! I am thrilled for you!!!!

Thanks Katie! Being positive comes naturally for me. Nearly every day I feel like the most fortunate person in the world. I love my life (despite my pains). Granted I do have a bad day here and there, but I'm always so thankful and happy that at least I don't live somewhere that I have to drive down the road and worry…

Oh yeah, and acupunture has been amazing for me. I tried it last fall for the first time when I was restricted to soft foods due to ripping most of the joints/ligaments in my jaw. Believe it or not, my mom says I have been grinding my teeth in my sleep since I was a baby and had a pair of teeth that matched top and bottom.…

Hey Agitch: First things first - you might try retyping the second sentence (over and over) of your post by saying "I HAVE motivation and I HAVE desire to lose weight". The positive spin will kick in if you start talking yourself into it. Stop with the negativity. Look at what you have done so far - 6pounds in one week!…

I have to sit this challenge out. I have a scale for the first time in my life and it is working for me. I only bought it one month ago and since it is working for me I am not going to go without. Besides that I like the instant gratification and notice on how I am doing and I really like my body fat percentage information.

Way to go Cheryl! I knew you would get right back on track.

I also think it is okay to go over your protein. I am usually way over and my nutritiion/weight loss coach actually recommends that I consume nearly twice the amount that this site states. Also, most of the protein is in the egg white. The yolk has the fat and calories.

Check out some of the recipies in that topic area. Also, try apples with some peanut butter - helps me a lot. Or baked apples with cinnamon. Also, I always have a dark chocolate candy bar in the freezer. When all else fails I have just a section or two and let it melt in my mouth. Or I have a cup of sugar free hot…

I have never heard of date sugar before... is it hard to find? This recipe sounds great!

It happens sometimes.... I do think that your body sends you messages/signals. If you are too tired and in pain, it is okay to take a time out. Just be honest with yourself about when you do need a rest and when you are whimping out. Right now you seem like you need a rest! Make sure you take care of yourself. Eat well,…

Thank you, thank you, thank you - to my MFP family! My birthday crab legs were awesome. I bought some of that "I can't believe its not butter" spray and it was really good. And it's great to share a birthday with you kimford28. 24 feels great - Hee, hee, hee!
-
Oh, it is also great because my yard work pants are nearly falling off! Yeah!
-
Thank you! So far, it's a great day in central Minnesota. Sunny and cool. Picking the last of our apples and cleaning up the yard for winter. A perfect day for me. My husband bought crab legs for dinner and I can't wait to enjoy them - without the butter of course!

You can do it Sugarlove!!!! You can, you can, you can! What is your calorie goal? What types of foods are you eating? Are you getting enough protein? You can boost your metabolism if you time your food intake and exercise right. Try eating smaller portions more often throughout the day. I eat about every 2-3 hours. Now I…

To get the calories burned you need to put it in the cardio section. I am not sure what you mean about tracking calories when you go out to dinner. I just put what I ate in regularly as I would any other meal. Is that what you mean or do you mean how to determine the calories you can still consume when you are actually…

HI - Erinkoop, there's a couple of Julies here, were you referring to me having the same situation and goal? You are 4 inches taller than me! But I look funny if I get lower than about 135. I have curves and just look weird - out of proportion - if I am 'skinny, skinny'. Today is my 42nd Birthday! Yeah, my big birthday…

I'm all about moving on. I wouldn't worry about yesterday's calories. Just keep on track and forgive yourself for 'sins' of the past!

Thanks about my doggie, Sammy. She is the sweetest, cuddliest, best friend ever. Since she is a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver, she is my swimming partner all summer. Alas, she is getting old and now tires easily. I think I will try the test. If you found out that you are sensitive and you have eliminated it and you feel that…

Thanks Viviakay! This is very Interesting. So how do I find out if I am allergic or sensitive? Do I have to see a doc? Good tips on snacks. I'll give your suggestions a try.

Now that I am really paying attention to what I eat and when I eat it I have realized that I get a nasty salt craving in mid afternoon. So then I eat some fat free pretzels or reduced fat triscuits or similar crunchy, salty stuff. My problem is that during the past week or so I feel so tired after the carbs. I mean really,…
