Yeah - I cheat too. I know there are people who just can't cheat one tiny bit. But for me, I would fall off the wagon hard if I didn't allow myself a slight indulgence once and a while.

Hi Melannie - thanks for joining us! Keep us up to date with how you are doing and don't be afraid to ask for help.

I'm so clueless about what happened - except that it must be with " i can...." It doesn't matter, I don't need to know and dirty laundry doesn't need to air here. However, we are here for support and caring for each other. Sometimes we just have to let the little bit of the adult voice in us to overcome the instant…

Thanks! Im cool with those facts! (even though I don't get the polar bear hunting in Toronto).

I also don't bring any more than 1 day's portions to work. I have snack size baggies and I think they are best thing that has happened to me in a long time! I only bring what equates to one portion in each snack baggie. So I don't need to worry about my will power at work, I only need to worry about pacing myself. That…

I'm a sweet/salty person too. I really do get satisfied after an apple wtih peanut butter. It's my favorite snack. the sweet and salty granola bars are good, but high calorie. I do have them every now and then. I also like pretzels, but after watching what I have eaten for a while I realize that straight carbs really wipe…

How about a hearty /healthy soup and a piece of whole grain bread? Chicken tortilla soup works wonders for me! I usually have some frozen salmon around and that works pretty well with a baked potato and no or low fat sour cream (no butter). Or frozen shrimp tossed with ANYTHING like some brocolli and mushrooms with garlic…

Can you adopt me as a Canadian??? I live in Minnesota and most of the time would be pleased to say I was from Canada. I  Canada!

Welcome and thanks for joining us. I look forward to hearing more on your progress.

Ya just gotta try the eating breakfast thing - it really does make a difference. I usually try to eat a lot of protien in the AM (egg white/swiss cheese omelet). Plan a healthy snack mid-morning. Like an apple or something like that.

Your brain is definitely working the right way, now just to get your actions to come along.. Two quick snacks which really save me: - frozen cooked shrimp, which I throw in EVERYTHING (eggs, salads, or juts plain, etc) - apple with peanut butter (very sweet and will take care of a craving!!) My favorite really quick meal:…

I have been wracking my brain and haven't come up with anything yet...... It seems wrong that it should be this hard. However, I just watched CNN Headline News report about this and there were many kudo's given to Tyra Banks - especially following the hurling of insults she received after being photographed in her…

Hi Amanda! Thanks for the welcome back (on a different post). Yeah, I think if you can integrate what we learn in weight loss with our perrmanent way of living it sticks. Just portion control for me has been a big thing. I have overdone it a few times over the holidays and I realize how much I hate feeling stuffed. It's so…

Hey Girlfriend! Wow, good for you that you get to see it in Homestead. Seriously, it took me five minutes to look at names, grab a highlighter and make my selections. What little I knew didn't amount to anything more than thinking Jimmy was cute......That's why this is so funny. Next year I'll mess up because I'll actually…

[Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are both class acts. It's all good. Wait till next year!! Game ON. I wondered about you Mechanicmom! Well, just your name. I have only been to one Timberwolves game in my life and now that Kevin Garnett is gone I probably won't go again.... Because here in "The State of Hockey" it's all about the Minnesota Wild and my local college team hockey programs. I love hockey - so you just gave me…

Funny stuff here! I love the 5150 info. I had no idea what that was. Big Dane, what is the roller coaster ride all about?

I think the bottom line is we need to feel healthy and confident in our own skin. So some of us who are experiencing change it might be similar to breaking in a new pair of shoes - you might get some blisters - but you break them in they become part of you. You don't even notice them anymore as anything besides…

Alas, I am allergic to artificial sweetners. So no can do these things. :noway: I have to stop reading or I will be in trouble 'cuz I'll go get the real deal.
