  • Have you ever had a stress test before? I have. No one gave me a med before hand since the goal is to see how your heart does on its own. My stress test wasn't a big deal - I was very comfortable and the staff took great care in making sure I understood what what happening all the time. It wasn't that hard either. In the…
  • Welcome Najah5150! I'm sure I can speak for many of us in welcoming you and we wish you all the best in obtaining your goals. Keep up on your daily entries of your food and exercise and it will work for you too.
  • UKBrat Regarding Protein- many of us are over all the time. My fitness instructor tells me during weight loss we should increase protein. I am usually WELL over my alloted amount and it works great for me. I keep my carbs down.
  • Sorry - not a Vegas person. But good luck and welcome to the site!
  • Hello !!!! Thanks for joining us on our mutual pursuit. Keep posting your success. BTW BigRedd30 - I checked out Alli, but I was just under the recommended weight to start. So I didn't. Now I am down 9 pounds anyway with 13 more to my goal of 135. I am a rather 'curvey' 5'3".
  • Hello UKBrat1! Welcome. I hope you can stay on it too. You'll find a lot of support on this site. I'm pulling for you (and me)!
  • Kim: Don't lose hope. You're going to be just fine. It will come off. This might become the boost you need to meet your goal. Use it as fuel for your fight! BTW - Happy Birthday fellow October baby and Scorpio! We nearly share a birthday. Mine is Saturday. The big 42!
  • Can you try other things like getting a jump rope, doing jumping jacks, running in place or getting a dvd/video? Keep doing the weight training. I love to take walks in the deep snow as exercise. I go out on the area lakes that are all drifted and unplowed. It's awesome exercise!
  • Hi Loretta Jo! What a wonderful addition to you are here. Please help me to learn about how to do this better by sharing your ideas and insights. Thanks, Julie
  • There is a voice inside of all of us that communicates to us who we really are as a person. Mine says that I am confident, smart, gentle, loving, caring, healthy and confortable in my own skin. We squelch that voice as we are pummeled by all the things we aren't and will never be but have somehow bought into thinking we…
  • Healthier.... what about a consignment store for size 8's? We have a really, really nice consignment store where I live and it seems like it would be a great source for transition clothes. The store we have is for women only and is good -- highly screened, quality brands. I can get a pair of jeans for about $10/each. I…
  • Soup is great too - Tortilla soup is filling and different. Sometimes I saute some shrimp with broccoli and put some Whole Foods soy ginger sauce on it. Warms us well at work. That is really tasty. I have also spent some time on Sunday's making meals - like fritatta's (Italian Omelete). The eggs are great for protein and I…
  • I wish I just thought about chocolate, but last night I had two miniatures and a fat free hot chocolate. If there was a bar of chocolate here right now I would probably eat that too. I am like cm and have more energy than usual. I also drink lots of herbal/black/green tea during this time. And when I sleep I think I sleep…
  • Out of the 19 days in October - so far it has been raining on 17 days. Just moments ago I saw the first peak of sun since last Saturday. It makes me tired and all I want is my bed, my book and my bon-bons!!!! So I hear what you are saying. But keep telling yourself that the rain is cleansing for the earth and so celebrate…
  • Hey Healthier - I tried your picture affect, but it didn't work out as good. Happy Halloween anyway. Try not to eat to many Charleston Chews. As for me, right now I have to go put away my peanut butter and triscuits before I turn into Julie of the Piggies..
  • Going dancing tonight. So I hope to have at least 30 minutes cardio. Yippeee!
  • Hello Cat! Welcome and Good Luck! I'm hoping to lose 6 more by Thanksgiving. So hopefully we can cheer each other on.
  • Mike: Maybe we should have a menu link for free websites that really are helpful. I have no idea how this would be screened first. However there are sites that are helpful and instead of having people post them all the time, they could say "check out the web resources page". What do you think?
  • My favorite breakfast right now is a 2-egg white herb omelet with a piece of swiss cheese on a piece of wheat toast. Should have enough fat for you and really satisfies me.
  • I like using a bit of olive oil and some herbs (basil, parsley or rosemary) and roasting cut up eggplant in the oven. Sometimes I throw in whatever other veggies I have on hand that go along with eggplant, like peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, squash, garlic and even carrots. Roast at 400 for one hour or until tender.…
  • Absolutely. Exercise has become one of my best friends! For me, I am not so much exhilarated as finally feeling like a pressure valve has been released. I can finally take my tension down a few notches....
  • Hey Big Steve! Welcome. It's good that you are starting here. It's never too soon to start taking care of that heart and body. Keep us posted on your progress.
  • ahertel0214: Wow - what a fabulous journey you are on. Make sure your seatbelt is fastened huh??? It's great that you have had so many life-changing events lately. What a reward it is that you feel so much better. That feeling will keep you on track. Thanks for sharing all your succeses! Viviakay has some great tips as…
  • Pamela - I think that you have added a lot in many of your posts. But you also mention the same website nearly every time and the website address you give doesn't get people to the menu's you area always telling people about. So, I would suggest that when you do post for the menu you should give the proper website - the…
  • the website for the menus that pamelawh is always posting is actually www.crosscrunch.com/bonus I believe you would never find it from the main site unless you bought the sales pitch.
  • It is a likely possibility that i am doing it wrong.....
  • NNNOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!! You are too close Healthier. I have to admit I do the same - I call it self sabatoge. I think it is one of the big reasons why people gain weight after reaching their goal. But I just can't wait to hear your news when you succeed. So, if you must, do it for me, okay?
  • Okay - I'll start! Today - 30 minutes on elliptical, 3 sets of sit ups, push ups and some arm/shoulder resistance training.
  • I used to eat before I went somewhere so I would feel full, but it doesn't work for me. I eat anyway and just get more full. So I gave that idea up. I wrote this before, but it really does work for me: I bake and cook so, so, so many holiday cookies, treats, etc that I can't bear the thought of eating such things because…
