There is just no way that this is true... you don't need a calorie surplus to gain muscle (maybe if you are looking to bulk up). If you are working out more than you normally do, you will gain muscle regardless of calorie deficit/surplus.

A cheeseburger isn't going to make you gain a lb. Indulging once in a while keeps us sane, so don't worry to much about it. To me is sounds like you might not be eating too much; maybe your body lost in the first week or two but could be in starvation mode now? Or, it could just be normal fluctuation. I agree that…

Is it bad that I think is sounds like an amazing night?! But the help out with the OP, I think a majority of us have to deal with the "I'm bored, let's eat" type of mentality. I think that's how we all got here in the first place. I think the best thing for you to do is to find something to occupy your time. I find that if…

Hey! I'm trying to get ready for a vacation in June too! I've been a MFP member for a while, but only recently got back into it (need to relearn portion sizes :grumble: ) Anyways, I'll add you and we can encourage each other!! The more the merrier in my opinion!

Most mornings I have two peices of toast, with a wedge of laughing cow creamy swiss on each. On top of the cheese I either put some fruit (blueberries, raspberries, ext) and sprinkle a little splenda packet.Or, If I run out of fruit, i put some cinnamon on top of the cheese with spledna and have come cimmon/sugar toast.…

I agree with this for the most part, but I think more regulation is not the answer. If the government is really concerned about health care costs (which they obviously are, as well as myself, for paying large premiums to my insurance company to pay for healthcare for those without insurance), instead of telling us what we…

I agree that you skin looks tighter. It also looks like you don't really have much weight to loose, but more toning of muscles and skin. If i were you I would def take measurements and not worry about the scales too much. Good luck! :flowerforyou: P.S. -- your arms look WAY more toned!

 i'm assuming that's how they got the sizes they are at now...

Agreed. I don't really care what size I am (Although a size six does boost the ego!), I just get really annoyed that I have to try on a million different sizes everywhere I go because they are all diferent. Crazy annoying..

Congrats!!! I think a lot of people feel the same way with life being so crazy! Love this post and you are looking awesome!

Ugh I know how you feel! I have a very similar story but not with weight. I am originally from Washington state and now live in Philly. I was going to college so I never saw the need to get a Pennsylvania drivers license. Since I was paying out of state tuition might as well stay an out of state resident. Any who, no one…

OMG I would LOVE it if someone posted that. CONGRATS!!!:drinker:

Seriously?! Can't get to 1600 calories?! Go to 7/11 pick up a bag of chips, candy bar, litterally, anything in 7/11. If you want to do it healthy, have two large spoon fulls of peanut butter, thats got to add up to around 250 calories... if you dont like plain peanut butter, put it on a banana, add another 100 calories for…

Your calorie goal given already had you at a deficit. Therefore, when you exercise, you get to eat those calories back. 1400 - 1065 + 850 = 1185 calorie remaining.

I'm set at 1200, but I'm 5'6, female and 150lbs. The fact that you are male actually has a lot to do with it. Men natuallry burn more calories throughout the day and have a faster metabolism (a lot to do with the fact you are generally larger and burn more calories than women doing the same tasks). Therefore men in general…

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I never said you can't get the benefits from a pill or the other forms. I was simply replying to 'VergingOnVegan' when asked for proof that eating meat provides health benefits. Fteale, the point you're making is a environmental, which I'm not arguing with.
